I went to this salon based on Zeva’s glowing recommendation. She was spot on, the woman isn’t overly friendly but she definitely knows what she is doing. I got the shampooing-coupe-sechage and not the brushing(I think it is 20 euros extra). I am very happy with the layered cut she gave me. Just the right amount of style with a tiny bit of edge. I’m not sure she speaks any English, so looking up key descriptive words would be in the best interest for expats that aren’t 100% fluent like myself.

The stars must have been in alignment the night that I passed in front of the brand new hair salon Into the Wig. From outside the street my eyes landed on the beautiful, blond pixie cut of a woman in her 60s who was just putting on her coat after having her hair cut. She was radiant, her cut modern and chic, and by some supernatural force I found myself walking right into the shop and reserving a spot for a cut for myself just a few days later. I’ve never done anything like that — literally decide to chop off my hair at a salon I’d never been to before by a person who I knew not at all. But the hair on this woman was so impressive and her confidence in her look so compelling that I just knew it was the right thing to do. And boy was it! Into the Wig is the new one-woman hair salon with an ethereal, brazen edge to it – cut from the cloth of the owner who looks like a modern day Patti Smith with a touch of Feist. I forget her name(she’s not particularly chatty) but she is amazing with her shears. When I told her I wanted to chop off my hair and described the look I wanted(a 60s-inspired pixie cut with a modern edge) she got it immediately and started working like a wild woman on my hair using a battalion of tools including a straight knife, buzzcutter and layering scissors. It was a very exhilarating experience, and even though she was a bit all over the place, I never doubted she’d nail it. And she did! At 38E it is the best damn hair cut at the best price I’ve ever paid in Paris. You will hear about this place in all of the fashion mags in no time at all. Go here, this woman is brilliant and super down to earth.
