Hôtel Westside Arc de Triomphe

This is my first and only stay in Paris but I must say I’ve been all around eastern and Western Europe and this was a very clean and nice especially considering it’s on the cheaper end as far as prices and included breakfast.

The sheer number of hotels in Paris does not help making a choice — especially if you are on a budget. As with most major cities, hotels below 4-​star ranking are not adviseable, which does not make things easier.
I was looking for a boutique-​style hotel in a convenient location for both the city, easy access to La Defense and the airport.
The Waldorf Arc de Triomphe ticked all those boxes: walking distance to the metro station Etoile/​Charles de Gaulle (direct metro to La Defense and RER trains to the airport via Chatelet Les Halles) or direct airport bus, and Rue Faubourg St. Honore in walking distance for shopping, La Champs Elysees just minutes away.
Room prices vary as there are discounts for 2 or 3 night stays, and are quite small (classic rooms) with nice interieurs, and modern, clean bathrooms. I paid 143 EUR per night excl breakfast. The hotel features a spa and swimming pool. Service is very friendly and helpful. Whilst definitely not on the de-​luxe side this is a friendly place from where to experience beautiful Paris.

I too thought it was like the Waldorf in NYC when I booked it. However, I liked it regardless of the expectation. It was really cute and quaint. It had a nice character to it. The spa downstairs was laughable though. It had a small in ground pool, a tiny sauna and no staff in it anywhere at anytime during my stay. The room was well appointed and the bathroom very nice. It was small but Parisian hotel room can be small at even $ 800 a night places. This was $ 235 a night in May. The weather was beautiful so I wasn’t in the room much as it was centrally located to tourist spots and cafes etc. It’s nice for a honeymoon but not a spa weekend.

The waldorf arc de triumphe is a 10 min walk to the arc de triumphe. I booked this place last minute for a 3 night stay thinking it would be like the waldorf Astoria in NYC .oops. However, it wasn’t a bad place. The location is a bit of the main track and the nearest subway inlet is about 10−15min walk. The rooms are clean and well kept, but definitely on the small size (Paris like NYC is tight on space). The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. There was a Indian guy working in the evenings who was very helpful. He arranged everything from surprise flower bouquets to last minute tickets for the lido show. If you can tolerate the walk then it’s not a bad place in the heart of Paris :)
