This was my first hotel in Paris and I have to say not what I expected. When you step inside the hotel itself is very inviting but that is where it stops. The staff that were at the reception desk were less than hospitable and definitely not welcoming. I believe the whole three days to me none of their staff made any effort to know how my stay was going. I attempted idle chit chat to get it going but lets just say … awkward. I stayed for 3 nights and found the area that the hotel to be located in a little rough for a solo female traveler. Luckily the room was spacious because as it got dark I was back at my hotel. The room itself was comfortable it had a nice big window that opened and had it not been a heat wave it would have been perfect. Also the night traffic and street noise were quite loud and even if it had been cooler it would have been too noisy to leave open. The wifi was great in the room and reliable. The bathroom was interesting, me being 5 ft getting in and out of the tub/shower was challenging as it was a good 3 ft high and I am not exaggerating. Once in though it was a nice shower and came in handy when I used it to cool off. The area was close to Saint Martin Canal with lots of little shops and markets in the area. It was also right on the Louis Blanc Metro stop very convenient. There is also an amazing gathering place on the water called La Villette that had fountains, restaurants and pubs well worth the walk down there and fun at dusk. For what I needed to get my adventure going the hotel worked, but I would not stay here again.
