We had our engagement dinner here after getting engaged in a rowboat at the palace of Versailles. I know pretty cliché and awesome. It was such a great experience. The food was out of this world, the service was the best we have ever had. Truly a great time we’ll remember forever.

Not your typical French Restraint. The menu is very limited for Dinner but the five star meal they served us was memorable. The restaurant is immaculate and its high-caliber gourmet dining was as expected. However, I would more so suggest this place for Lunch.

Did the 5 course meal and every dish was an adventure. Service was superb and was also very accommodating. The food was a combination of art and culinary adventure with each dish having done special flare. The ending was equally superb with half a passion fruit to complete the meal along with an assortment of chocolates. The pictures tell the story but this was a superb experience.

Great one star Michelin restaurant! We went for lunch, and the food and service were excellent. For an appetizer, we had a crab/avocado/lobster bisque combination. Went very well with an Andre white wine recommended by the waiter. For the main dish, we had lamb wrapped in homemade pasta, was perfectly done and beautifully flavored(matched with a red 2007 Cairanne). Recommend the restaurant, all in all we had a great experience!

I really want to like this place but it fell on several notes, thus my rate of 3.5 stars. On our trip to Paris, we decided to dine at a french restaurant on the high end. Being foodies from San Franciso, California, we tasted our share of fine french food so we at least have some experience to compare this to. We thought the food was excellent and the restaurant was lovely. The waitstaff seemed a bit edgy at times and aloof but this contributed little to our overall experience. For drinks, the hubby ordered a french beer, blonde for lighter tasting. He enjoyed this. I ordered a red from the Rhone region. This was good but not memorable, unfortunately. They served us crusty bread with a lime butter that reminds me of the lime flavor toastitos corn chips I get back in the states. The crust of the bread was super hard, we only managed to nibble a bit, but ended up pulling the innards to eat instead. For the first course, I opt to add shaved truffles to my mushroom potatoes course. This dish was really yummy. I only wish there were more bites per course. For 25 euro, you will get exactly 6 thin slice of black truffle shaving on your dish. You do the math and consider if this is worth it. Since I was disappointed that my truffle hunting trip in Dijon was cancelled due to the freezing weather, this was my makeup session. The second course was a small morsel of white fish with carrots and a tangy spicy sauce. It was presented very beautiful. It tasted just as lovely. The 3rd course was a chicken course with the skin crisped and topped with some herbs and veggies. This course was also very yummy. The 4th course was a cheese course that we didn’t intend to get, but the waitress asked us if we wanted it, to which I thought it was complimentary. They ended up charging us an extra 25 euro. We couldn’t finish this course. It was basically a slab of brie cheese in a bowl with truffle specks. The cheese was too salty to eat alone. I did feel bamboozled to getting this course, unfortunately. The last course were the desserts. We first received a scoop of lemon ginger sorbet. This sorbet was super sour, to the point that I made the sour face every time I took a bite. I’m pretty sure desserts shouldn’t make me feel this way. The mango basil merengue sorbet, the passion fruit, the chocolate crème and nibbles made up for it though. Overall, I left with my tastbuds longing for more out of this experience. But happy to know that I get to go back home, where french food can be done right.

Excellente adresse gastronomique.

The restaurant was a concept from Philippe Bélissent, formerly of Laurent, Ledoyen, and Le Restaurant in L’Hôtel, and his partner, the maître d’ Jérôme Cobou, located close to Montparnasse. Recently opened, a little more than 2-months ago. As we stepped in, I noticed a very monochromatic color scheme of white, black and gray. It was pretty devoid of any color, probably so diners can focus on the food. The restaurant layout . was actually quite nice, if you like that modern feel. It didn’t seem French to me at all. We started first by ordering wine, primarily by price(cheapest), Rasteau Cotes du Rhone Villages, but turned out to be one of the highlights for lunch. We pretty much all decided we were going to the pre-fix menu for 38 €, which included the following: Appetizer: Razor-fish; squid and parsley or Foie Gras; pan-fried, pasta and girolles Main: Cod Fish; cauliflower or Wild Young Partridge, caramelized chicory Desserts and coffee We got a small little white rolled up tube, what looked to me like a tampon, sorry if I offended any of the women, but that’s what it looked like. Our waiter explained that we needed to plop into our glass, then use it to clean our hands. And, as I did, it literally sucked up all the water. Our amuse bouche was a croquette stuffed with chevré(goat cheese). I liked it, but it was deep-fried and who wouldn’t like something fried, n’est-ce pas? Surprisingly, another amuse bouche came out and it was a teeny, tiny stuffed crab. I liked it because it tasted like crab. For our entrées, one friend got a the razor back clams which was the highlight of his meal. He loved it, I tasted it, I don’t particularly care for«foams», but it was extremely tasty. Another friend and I ordered the foie gras, and the pasta with girolles. The pasta was a small shell pasta stuffed with girolles and some type of unidentifiable meat. The pasta was not al dente, but rubbery. However, the foie gras was nice and seared on the outside and nice and tender inside. Now here’s where we start going down hill, our main courses: Cabillaud 2 of us had the Cod Fish and cauliflower. I have to say it did look pretty; however, I haven’t tasted anything so bland in a long time. I would’ve even preferred it to be fishy over having no taste at all. It desperately needed some acid, lemon would’ve definitely given it some depth. The sauce was also quite glutinous, almost««cornstarchy», if there is such an adjective. We had to ask for salt and pepper. I must’ve doused so much pepper, the pristine white plate looked like someone splattered dirt on it, oh well. Our friend ordered the partridge. I had a taste of it, but it was a bit rubbery, and it was not very exciting. For all I know it could’ve been a piece of overcooked chicken. 1 of us had the cheese course. He had the comté. It was accompanied by a sabayon(which he didn’t want). I thought for sure it was going to be a sweet sabayon. I tasted it, and it was not pleasant. It was savory and«salty» that could have been used on the fish. I can’t imagine adding that sabayon to the comté, since comté already has a strong taste. The cheese had«colored» sprinkles on top of it, but it added nothing, it was just superfluous. Well the red did give the restaurant some color at least. Afterwards, desserts came: It was an odd mix of very, very sour dishes and very, very sweet dishes. I get sweet and sour in one dish, but this was a bit odd for me. For our first dessert we got a sorbet of lemon and ginger. I wanted to say, man this is sour, but my lips puckered up so much, I couldn’t even say the words. It was one of the most sour desserts I’ve ever tasted. The second dessert was a spéculoos mousse over a spéculoos cookie sitting atop some chocolate ganache. The mousse was very creamy and as you dug in and hit the chocolate it was a nice little surprise. I happen to like spéculoos, so it was good dessert for me. Then we got a plate of passion fruit(lilikoi) and some lemon tarts. The passion fruit was just awful. My family is originally from Hawaii, so I know«lilikoi». Whoever their provider is, needs to be fired. Passion fruit should be succulent, sweet, aromatic and make you want to be passionate. All it did for me was make me bitchy. The lemon tart crust was interesting, it was encrusted with«demara» sugar. I liked the crust part better than the filling. This is an expensive restaurant for the type of food you get. For 3-people, the bill came to almost 200 Euros. All of us gave the food a 2 over 5 score; however, I gave them credit for their service. The service was excellent, so I bumped up my overall score to 2 ½. Would I go back? probably not. Will it improve? I hope so, because they do have a great concept albeit a lot of clichés. And, in their defense, they still are relatively new, so probably still refining their menu.
