First night in Paris and randomly saw this restaurant, the food was amazing, desert something to die for. Their service was great. The whole experience was legendary. We will go back for sure.

This quaint looking and attractively decorated bistro is meant to remind you of the French Alps, which apparently inspired the cuisine. The food here is barely passable, but not true and possibly not honest. We ordered the soupe a l’oignons, a favorite of ours. This version was not awful but it had almost no onions. The cheese was melted into the soup but not broiled, so no lovely caramelization. The bread was soaked completely, and was disintegrating. What self-respecting chef would be proud of that? We had the chicken, which was decent, as were the potatoes accompanying it. Very simply made, but no sauce. A bit dry. The confit of duck had a sauce that was ok, but the peaches cut up into it were canned. The confit could have been prepared anywhere and simply reheated by the restaurant. Normally I wouldn’t think about that possibility but with everything else going on here, it made me wonder. Prices were low. You get what you pay for, so often in life.

My cousin and I found this cute little restaurant around the corner of our favourite street in St.Germaine. The venue is quite unique, quirky and has a French/ski cottage feeling. I came into this restaurant without any expectations and didn’t have the time to read the reviews when I came in. Luckily I haven’t because there are quite mixed reviews and didn’t want to judge straight away. We both chose a Starter and Main Course(fixed price for 12.90 €) from the menu card(lots of varieties!) and I picked for my starter the Onion tart with cheese and for my main the Beef stew in red wine sauce with potatoes. I was really surprised by the quality and taste of the food! I loved the main course and I was so full afterwards :) Staff: Hmm, the two middle aged waiters were a bit odd but in the other hand quite attentive. Easy going and I reckon you need to be open minded when you come in here, hehe. Definitely come in here if you are very hungry.

Dropped in for lunch with a few friends visiting me in Paris. I tried the confit de canard, which was delicious(and also my first time trying it). The skin was slightly crispy and with each slice of duck I ate, some delicious fat oozed out and I could dip the meat in it. My friends got the beef bourgignon, jambon et fromage crêpe, goat cheese salad, and chocolate mousse, and liked it all. The crêpe looked a little limp and soggy to me. The service was a little too slow for me. I’ve been to many other Parisian restaurants and they have been much quicker. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and relaxing, with its Old World décor and jazzy music.

There are so many different restaurants in Paris that rather than simply walk into one knowing nothing about it I decided to consult Unilocal and read other diner reviews Before making a choice. This restaurant had four reviews each with five-star so I thought it was a pretty safe bet. To say I was underwhelmed is being generous. The dining room is actually quaint and nice and has an old world feel, however the actual food leaves much to be desired. I ordered the French onion soup and the risotto with scallops. The soup was edible however the risotto was not unlike a sort of warm coleslaw with a fishy smell And the scallops were about the size of my thumbnail. My girlfriend had the fondue which she said was okay but I didn’t taste it. The wine was actually drinkable as well. I was quite annoyed that the manager of the restaurant was standing in the doorway smoking While I was trying to eat. All that being said I’m afraid the most I can muster is one star.

After a long, hot and busy day in Paris, we wanted to find a restaurant with an authentic-feeling atmosphere. The kids needed food, water and rest immediately. Chalet Gregoire is in a great area and the restaurant felt like a small, cozy French bistro from a previous century. PERFECT. Our host was perfect for our needs. He is Armenian, has lived in Southern California and speaks perfect English. He interpreted the menu for us and devised a dinner plan that met everyone’s needs. Some foie gras to start followed by an assortment of fondue options. The kids rated this as the best meal of our entire European vacation. I would recommend this to anyone traveling in Paris, and especially for families that want something for everyone.

After a friend recommended this restaurant to me, I decided we would come here for a Valentine’s day dinner that didnt cost us a ridiculous amount of money. It’s in/near the Latin Quarter and on this street there are an abundance of restaurants all priced extremely well where you get Entrée+Plat+Dessert. It’s a cute little restaurant and the staff was attentive. We got there around 7:30 and it was still pretty dead at that point. it didn’t start getting busy until 9:30−10pm. I ordered the formule that was 15.90 €(there are also ones for 11.90 € and 19 €) Entrée: French Onion Soup –pretty standard. I did enjoy it but once again it was a little too salty for me and not cheesy enough. Plat: Salmon with a Thyme cream sauce — the salmon was cooked very well(the worse thing is an overcooked piece of salmon). The cream sauce perfumed by thyme was a great complement for the salmon as well. The thing I didnt like about this dish was that the salmon was served on a bed of shredded carrots and cauliflower and some other vegetables. It was like steamed or boiled and it just seemed a little out of place. Dessert: Crème Brûlée — mehh this was average. They were probably all pre-made and stored in the fridge until someone ordered it, It was cold and the sugar topping was rock hard. I just let my bf finish it. My boyfriend got the formule for 19.90 € Entrée: Leek and Salmon roll — in my opinion this was just too leeky. so a little more salmon and less leek would’ve been nice. Plat: Magret du canard — this was really really delicious. best dish of the night. the potatoes were amazingly seasoned and crispy and the duck was delicious. Dessert: Apple tart — it was average nothing special. like i said before i think they just pre-make all their desserts and leave them there. we also ordered a demi of a white wine and it was decently-priced. Overall. good experience. A lot of people in there were also eating fondue!

Excellent value! We loved the charming atmosphere. It was by far the best value for the money we found in Paris. We at there 3 times. I especially loved the gorgonzola cheese fondue…
