When your four-​legged companion won’t let you walk past the front door, you know there is something special waiting inside.
Friendly and knowledgeable service, these ladies (at the time of writing the staff are 100% female) know their animals. If you visit often enough they will also know YOUR animal. I visited before our Lagotto came home and managed to get everything I needed in the first visit. Since then we are regular drops in.
Supplies for dogs, cats, birds and rodents: Cages, accessories, food, leashes, coats, brushes, shampoo and chewing toys, they have it all. An excellent range of dog and cat toys, no matter what size you are sure to find something to keep your best friend happy. Also bones and numerous animal body parts that dogs so love to chew are available per kilo.
THIS IS FOR THE DOG OWNERS OUT THERE: There is no pressure to buy and they are willing to take the time to advise you on the best solution for your breed. All the major brands of dog food are stocked, and there are usually monthly specials that mean it’s slightly easier on the wallet.
Musti ja Miiri have a customer loyalty program, and you can use accumulated bonus to pay for your purchases. Herttoniemi tend not to ask if I’d like to pay my purchases with the bonus, although I’ve used the bonus at their other stores.
Added bonus, dogs are encouraged to go into the store and will be rewarded by tummy rubs and ear scratches from the staff!
EDITED TO ADD: Although my review is in English, the majority of my dealings have been in Finnish (I speak MUCH better than I write). However the staff here do speak very good English (and probably Swedish too, although I can’t vouch 100% for that).
