It’s really really cozy and I have to say that it’s one of the best cafes in Helsinki for a hang out. I visited during the day and it was quiet, tranquil enough that some people were working on their laptop. Coffee and a cake costed me around € 11 which is super pricey! Other than that, I love everything about this place.

Really neat café. Cozy. Variety of seats and couches. The cakes are so good! My mom liked the hot chocolate. She said it is legit.

Good place to chill out and be hip! Kokko is known for the raw cake selection which is tasty. Interesting interior coupled with a store that sells large vintage items e.g. tables, industrial lamps. Worth checking out. Unfortunately they aren’t open on the weekends very often, but check their facebook page for info

An interesting cafeteria in an apartment building. Went there on Tuesday afternoon when I knew the place wouldn’t be too crowded. As in most of the cafes in Helsinki the tables were occupied by single people staring their laptop. Killing the culture. The baristas were service-minded and knew what they’re talking about. I ordered a regular coffee which was served in a kinda rocks glass. The taste of it was as the barista explained but nothing too special compared to the price(3,5 €) Obvious that this is a low-budget project which creates a unique, homemade vibe to it. I like it, but to be honest a level too hippie for me! Totally worth visiting because of the uniqueness and the vibe! Probably they host some cool events as well!

First, we were lucky to find it opened. We had to wait a while to be served as the place was crowded, but totally worth it! Very nice food! Raw food never disappoints!

Hippie design. Pretty cool interior! But sadly the matcha latte wasn’t as good, and the carrot cake was extremely complex. Didn’t like it. Was too pricey for a cake and matcha latte which I paid 12 €, double the price I pay anywhere else. However, it’s always worth a try!

Finally Kokko have opened at their new location. The new space may not be as close to the water as the old one but it is on other hand more central and they have found a really cool space that they share with some sort of vintage and/or second hand store selling lots of cool stuff. The coffee and cakes here are however enough reason to visit. The owners(a couple) have created a very nice café. They serve nice locally roasted coffee(it varies a bit what is on offer but I tried coffee from Good Life Coffee, Maja Roastery as well as a few others here) as hand brewed coffee(also possible to get espresso based beverages). The coffee is very nicely prepared and they also do nice teas and juices. The other big attraction here are the raw cakes. They are not only very nice looking but also very tasty and I can at least pretend that the raw cakes are healthy. Friendly service and free wifi makes this a favorite of mine. The drawback are the short opening hours(currently 12 – 18 on weekdays) but hopefully that will change and also the music is a bit loud at times.

Raw food is a huge trend around the world. And also in Helsinki you can find places that offer the healthy alternatives to cooked and processed food. One of them is Café Kokko. The cozy two stroage café in one of the beautiful old brick buildings in Katajanokka was opened this summer. Here you find a wide selection of raw cakes and pastries. They might not be everyone’s thing and are way less sweet than other pastry but you should definitely give them a try. You can also have one of their delicious smoothies and of course good coffee. Sit at one of the comfy sofas and feel just like being invited to a friend’s place. Check it out!

Take Tram number 4 to Katajanokka and check Café Kokko. Maybe the coolest café-place in town. The owner and his wife are both gorgeous and cool couple() Have some coffee at outside, or inside 2. second floor. Don’t forget to try their raw cakes. And yes it’s true, they have sauna there too. The coffee price are not bad, my favorite one is Matcha Latte. From the cake-list maybe i have taste everything, i can’t remember though… Not really surprised that one piece of cake is 7e(other place has same price, raw or not) But anyway after you buy it, you won’t dissapoint. Café Kokko has so many different kind of raw cakes to choose. Depends on the season, last time i tried their strawberry and blackcurrant raw cakes and both were really awesome!

There is always a first time they say … my very first time to have raw cake without even knowing what raw cake really meant! Well, now I know. Do you ;op? First, I could not believe I was ever to pay 7 € for a piece of cake(raw or not!), but the taste of my Strawberry Coconut Cream Raw Cake was pure BLISS! I am so happy that I have found this gem of a café right at the northern harbour, Pohjoissatama, of Helsinki. A cool location to relax and finish off a walk through Katajanokka and its interesting Jugendstil houses, a boat trip or a visit to Suommenlinna. The owner of Café Kokko turned this place into a haven of coolness and cosiness, provides detailed information about the ingredients of his cakes and knows how to make taste buds explode. Best.cake.ever! Made me so sad when I had to leave Helsinki and this out of this world sensation. I will wait desperately for the Café Kokko recipe book!
