Metal pub with tv screens always showing the music video to song you are listening to. A bit pricy but atmosphere nice. It’s very clean for what you would imagine a metal pub to be. Great happy hour prices!

Backstage bar(or ‘Bäkkäri’ as referred to by locals and regular guests) is quite a nice place to spend a night out. The bar belongs to the Helsinki-based goth’n’roll band The 69 Eyes, so the music played there is usually hard rock, rock’n’roll and metal. The place is cozy dark and gloomy and screens on the walls show music videos. The place offers any kinds of drinks: beer, wine, cocktails, spirits. According to German standards, prices are fairly high but for Helsinki they are okay. Among the guests are local artists and musicians from the rock and metal scene, and if you are lucky, you can even meet The Prodigy there if they play a show in Helsinki.

Love it… always got the metal videos playing on several screens… decent ones too. Walls are covered in old cassette tapes, set lists from bands, some gold records above the bar, all kids of rock paraphernalia. You can sit outside on the patio and smoke until midnight… which can sneak up on you rather quickly depending on the time of year. Last time I was there I ran into a bunch of touring rock stars and drank myself Finnish. Go here: Oh and also… there is a VERY nice club upstairs that has live rock bands. I was talking with the door guy and he let me wander in there and check it out before they opened. Kind of an L shaped place with restrooms and a smoking room at one end of the L, then a bar and coat check, then the entrance is some stairs in the bend of the L, then a bunch of couches and another bar, then the stage at the other end. I thought it was really cool, wound up coming back and paying the 6 euro to get in. Someone told me that the price of the shows used to be cheaper but they had to raise the door price due to high rent or something. Not sure if that’s true. The bands were really good and I had a blast, so… yeah.
