Even though I had a reservation, I waited 2.5 hours for someone to show up and check me in.(I passed the time reading and re-reading multiple signs indicating that personnel was available 24 – 7.) When the owner finally appeared, I had less than an hour to get ready for a big-deal dinner appt. The room had NOT been made up, and staff ignored my pleas that no, I didn’t need it vacuumed and dusted, I just needed to get in and freshen up. Meanwhile, they alternated cleaning with gossip sessions with other residents. As one staff member was almost finished, someone else walked in, hugged her, and began another long conversation. I think finally I just had to push them out the door and lock it. The rest of the stay was uneventful. It’s a shabby chic kind of place, but quiet(except for the footsteps pounding from the room above) and very well located, and the price was good. Just make sure they know when you’re coming…

We spent the weekend here for the 2 days right after out wedding. The B&B is a little beat up. Not as well maintained as many others I’ve been to. Don’t get me wrong, the rooms are very clean but the rest of the house is rather run down. Worn carpeting, rust stained bathtub and slight a «mothbally» smell to the whole place. On the up side, the staff is way friendly and the breakfasts were TODIEFOR. The food was better than any other I’ve ever had at a B&B and that includes the one that was owned by a gourmet chef. Less fancy but definitely top notch in the tasty department. The breakfast is the only reason this place didn’t get 2 stars flat out for me. Oh yeah, the bed in room 7 is super comfy. No amenities like jacuzzi tubs or fireplaces but they did provide us with champagne and strawberries, chocolates and mixed nuts. Nice touch.
