Smokehouse Bbq and Grill

Had a taste for some good ribs. Being new to the area, checked reviews on Google and chose Smokehouse. Had ribs. While I waited for them I checked out the sauce choices. Every bottle I opened (6+) had a nasty cap and neck. I cleaned 2 that I wanted to try. When I brought it to the servers attention, was told it was supposed to be done, sorry. Sure made me feel better.
The ribs arrived. The sides were good. The ribs were not hot and NOT tender — fall off the bone. If you like to chew the meat off the bone, this is the place for you. If you like hot tender juicy ribs with clean condiments, keep looking, it’s what I’m going to do.

This was actually a really great place. The waitress was very polite. The food was great. It’s definitely one of the better BBQ places to go in dade city

Very good food and reasonably priced. Would definitely return. Staff also very nice.

Get the redneck platter or the smokehouse wings.
They close early sometimes so check before planning an 8pm dinner outing.

Excellent food. Pulled pork was moist and flavorful. The corn muffin was delicious as were all the sides. Will definitely be back to try the ribs.

This place is great! We came with a party of 3 familys, with 5 hungry Boy Scouts. The service was great, portion size was great, taste was amazing. Try the BBQ nachos! Will be back.

Was the worst fried chicken. Burnt greasy could not eat. Will never go back. All you can eat takes 15 to 20 minutes, each order

This is not a great place to eat… chicken was dry… tables were sticky… waiter was snotty and the only good thing was the sides

Went this morning with a small group n have to say it was the BEST breakfast I’ve had in the area. Great food, value n service n only 79 cent coffee. Please give this private own restaurant a try I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. YUM

Service was excellent! Clean. Prices were great! Food was delicious! Ribs were far better then Sonnys. Would recommend definitely. They even have breakfast. Will be back to try! The also have senior specials. The ribs are very meaty. This Wednesday they had all the catfish you can eat.

Can’t say enough about being specific in what you want and then the owner comes out to confirm and says, «yes» with a smile. If you follow me or read my reviews I always in search of the best Texas brisket in Florida. There were three of us that went to eat. I never go over board on meals because I’m disappointed often. But when the owner offered a sample I was hooked. We specifically wanted the burnt ends and fatty slices of brisket. No one in Texas trims down the fat unless requested. In Florida they trim it all up and serve you dried out brisket leather.
Mike the owner does it as you ask and let me tell you it is a close, very close second to 4 rivers. Who hoodoo and it’s only 25 mins from the house. Oh yes yes and all sides, okra, mac n cheese, greens and friend pickles were just icing! GO GO GO!

Great breakfast menu! My wife had the chicken and waffles. Smoked chicken then fried on top of a Belgium waffle! My son had the Catfish and grits! It had a huge piece of catfish. I had the #5 2eggs meat grits or home fries with a waffle. All was delicious.

We (DH, I & our little one) were driving past here on our way shopping, we actually didn’t plan on eating here. I’m glad we did!
We ordered the Smoke House Specialty because we wanted to try a little of everything and figured we would have plenty to take home. We did manage to take a little bit home, not because of lack of food but because it was so good that we didn’t want to stop eating.
Let’s start with atmosphere… very open concept which is usually a good thing but with limited decorations, made this place a little loud even though there were only 6 tables seated.
Smoke House Specialty $ 19.95
–2 ribs (we got 3)-meaty, fall off the bone tender and delicious (favorite)
–2 pieces of chicken (we got 1 whole leg & thigh)-juicy and tender (very good)
–beef-​70% fat 30% meat, great taste but to fatty for our liking… pass!
–pulled pork-​juicy, tender, charred ends… yummm (third favorite)
–smoked sausage-​perfect pork flavor, a little spicey but I couldn’t stop eat them (second favorite)
Choice of 4 sides: BBQ Beans, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Hush Puppies, French Fries, Fried Okra, BBQ Corn, Fried Squash, Macaroni Salad, Tossed Salad, Greens.
We had:
–BBQ Beans-​sweet, smokey with strips of shredded pork… mmmm (favorite)
–Cole Slaw-​creamy, a little sweet w/​a touch of vinegar flavor, crisp (loved)
–Potato Salad-​average tasting (I’d eat it again… maybe)
–French Fries-​great flavor but the seasoning they used made them to salty. If they back down on some the seasoning these would be perfect.
All in all the food was really quite good and we will be back. Just wish they’d do something a little with the décor, less seasoning on the fries and find better cuts of beef (less fat).
