Two stars because the raspberry iced tea was good. I don’t understand how a place can be 30 min from the Mexican border and not have fresh beans. Very disappointing. I ordered the chile relleno dinner. It came with beans and rice. They didn’t let the cheese melt on top of the chiles and plus the beans were canned beans. Smh.

La Fonda was one of the first restaurants I came to when we moved to Yuma 12 years ago and their delicious meals keep me coming back! The food quality has been consistent throughout the years and their service is always attentive, whether there are 3 tables or a packed house. I love this place! I highly recommend the shredded beef tacos, albondigas soup AND don’t forget some white wine margaritas!(AKALUNCH #4)

Had a mixed green burrito & Carne Asada quesadilla. Excellent authentic ingredients. Last page of menu(The back) has burritos starting at $ 3.50. Nice portion.

I’m sorry to give this a one star, but the extremely poor service, the attitude of the staff that did not seem to care whether we were disappointed in the flan not available until tomorrow(one of the reasons we have always recommended this restaurant to our friends). Today upon our recommendation about 40 friends came for dinner after the movie. It was between lunch and dinner so we were about the only ones in the restaurant. Four couples of our group had come in early and had almost finished when we arrived 5 minutes before all the rest arrived. The waitress came to take our order(I thought) and I started to give her our order, but she rudely said she was only taking drink orders. We were sitting next to people who were almost done and we wanted to eat with them before they left. After everyone came, their drink orders were all taken AND their dinner orders were taken, we still did not have our order taken. We paid for 2 drinks and left. We will NEVER recommend this place again nor will we eat here again. Very sad as we have been here many times.

Best Mexican food you can get in Yuma. Try the Sonoran bean and cheese rolled tacos. The guacamole is zippy and yummy. The enchiladas are great too!

My second visit, and my last. I ordered the grilled chicken salad, the cold grilled chicken was not freshly cooked, maybe sitting there since morning precooked over a salad. Very disappointed after a 45 minute wait. I walked out, waitress told me to talk to the manager. Good luck, I know they have good food, but never again. JS.

Called in for a taco tray and chimi tray a day in advance and asked for them to be ready by 11:00 for a party that started at 11:30, well… its 11:30 and I’m still waiting for the trays to be ready. Hopefully everyone had breakfast to hold them over. I give them 3 starts because I do love their food but I wish they took my time into consideration

There are only 3 Mexican restaurant s in Yuma worth eating at and this is one of them. Love the tortilla soup, the atmosphere is very relaxing. Don’t pass this one up.

Not very impressed w the taste or anything everything was edible but not great… And I didn’t think tht side of beans was $ 3.50 worth tbh. Probably not gonna see me here again. Service was average, we were stated right away but didn’t even get offered a to go box or cups when done.

I love the charm and food at this off the beaten path place. Today I had breakfast and it was awesome. The star of the breakfast menu is enchiladas with eggs Sonoran style. The red sauce and beef enchilada pair up wonderfully with two fried eggs on top. Beans and potatoes are served on the side. The machaca was a large serving of delicious beef with fresh and cooked perfectly peppers and onions. The potatoes on the side could have been a bit more cooked and I’ll ask for that next time. This place has been around and should be visited by anyone who likes Mexican food. Google the history of this family run restaurant.

Stop here every time we drive through Yuma. Best local Mexican food we have found and the service is quick and food always delicious. If you want to eat light I recommend the tosados, if you want a full meal any of the combo meals are good.

Sonoran tacos are pretty good here. They have a taco salad where they arrange the ingredients to make a face, which is pretty cute. The guacamole here is a kinda disappointing. The chicken tortilla soup is also a favorite of mine here. The servers are all very nice. You can buy packs of pre-made tamales and sonoran tacos here so you have a good healthy supply to bring home, which is nice. It’s kind of hard to find. You have to look for the Goodwill and it’s this small little restaurant behind Goodwill.

Food is ok. Terrible service. Walked in to pick up a to go order, three people walked by and no one acknowledged me. The hostess sat the people that came in after me before even asking what I needed. I remembered why I rarely come here.

This isn’t the worst Mexican food I’ve had but it’s pretty close to it. For the price I was expecting a lot more. The beans had been reheated so many times they lost their taste. I had the carne asada and the meat was tough. Really, it didn’t taste like carne asada. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

They have good food here. I got the combination #3 and enjoyed it very much. It had a Chili Relleno a taco and a rolled taco. Everything was good. The service was very friendly. Prices were reasonable at about $ 10.00 per meal.

I ordered sweet pineapple tamles never had them before so i tried them. To dry and not worth what i paid. I also ordered 2 tamales they charged 10.00 just for 2 and they tasted like microwaveable ones and dry. I wouldnt get them again.

1st red flag: there were NO Hispanic ppl eating there! Not one! We ordered: green chile cheese tamales, rolled beef tacos, shredded beef folded taco, albondigas soup, rice, beans and horchata. It came w/chips & salsa. Everything we had was not good at all. The masa for the tamales was the blandest I’ve ever had. When I took a drink of the horchata, it tasted like soap! The albondigas soup tasted like None I’ve ever had! From the meatballs to the broth. I won’t eat here again!

I can’t believe that I grew up in Yuma and never ate at La Fonda. Boy, have I been missing out! Wonderful tortilla soup, the cheese crisp was awesome and my enchiladas were amazing. We’re definitely coming back here!

Sooo disappointed! Went there on a Monday early evening. The food tasted as if virtually everything was reheated from frozen. I ordered the Chipotle Fish taco($ 4.50). It was really small, and very very bland. The tortilla fell apart as I tried to eat it. Definitely not worth the price! I also had the Chile Relleno. As mentioned, it tasted as if it were reheated from frozen, or at the very least, from refrigerated. Very bland and tasteless. The texture was slimy. So sad. Wife ordered the Tortilla soup – it was very uneven. Very very salty! The beans and rice lacked flavor, and again, tasted as if they were prepared a week ago. And the prices – $ 3.50 for beans? People – it’s not difficult to prepare beans from scratch daily! Please please get it together!
