Soooo bad. Looks like it closed from outside, well not so much better inside. Food is terrible and overpriced

Food was great. Service was ok but the price finally caused it to close. I was craving Indian food so stopped for take out. I’m alone. And $ 30 for a basic entre was a but much. I had to pat extra for hummus and there was no Naan.

The food is great. Good quantity, does not come with rice so order a side. The medium has a nice slow heat to the favor that is amazing. Must go again!

Do not go to this restaurant. The sauce was runny, portions are small, and the naan was terrible and flat. The paneer was not fresh, tasted like a old refrigerator smells, and I pretty sure it had some sort of flour mixed into it.

I love Indian food. It’s tasty, fresh, looks good, this food lacked any of these properties. Even the diet coke was awful. I feel bad for this couple and left a hearty tip but I definitely won’t go back.

I’ll keep this brief. Heed the warnings of the other reviews. If you have any idea of what Indian food is you will be sorely disappointed. Their basmati rice is actually white rice. If you can’t even get that right, imagine what the rest is like.

I have never felt so ripped off in my life! My husband & went in for dinner & the waiter approached & asked us for our drink order. I ordered a coke the cost was $ 1.95. Ok, that was normal, then I see«refills are extra.» When the drinks arrived, the glass of coke was chock full of ice. Not just full of ice, but FULL of ice. There could not have been 6 ounces in that drink. Even the large ice cubes had smaller pieces of ice stuffed into the cracks & crevices. The next surprise happened when we opened the menu. The prices were quite high. $ 12-$ 22 per entrée. Ok, well maybe it’s really good food. When the waiter took my order, he asked if I wanted rice or nan bread. I ordered nan bread, my husband ordered rice. When our food arrived, the portions were very small. The food was good. Not great but good. Then came the final nasty surprise. The bill was much higher than we expected. We had been charged for our sides of nan bread & rice. At that point we just wanted out! The waiter, probably the owner, was cold. unfriendly & inattentive. Seeing how we were the only customers he could at least have acted happy to see us. I can’t stress strongly enough that I would NEVER return. Do your self a favor — stay home!

I came to Yuma for a job interview. I’m Indian, and whenever I go to a new town, I always like to check out the Indian scene. This one restaurant is the extent of the Indian scene in Yuma, so I went here by myself for dinner, even though I read the Unilocal reviews and saw that most of them were negative. It gives me no pleasure to say that the bad reviews of this place are largely accurate. First off, I never felt like I was in a restaurant. It felt like going to dinner at an uncle’s house. There is an elderly couple that runs the restaurant. Basically, the husband is the waiter and the wife does the cooking. I was the only customer in the restaurant when I walked in. The husband was sitting at one of the tables watching a movie on his laptop. When I walked in and sat down, he took my order. His wife was laying down in a partitioned part of the restaurant. He told his wife my order and she got out of rest area and went into the kitchen to make it for me. There’s not much in Yuma that’s particularly impressive, but this restaurant is a little less-impressive than most. There’s a damp, stale smell to it. The tables and chairs aren’t particularly nice, and I get the distinct feeling that the couple that owns this restaurant probably also lives here. If they don’t live here, they’re certainly far more comfortable in this place than anyone should be in a place of work. The food itself wasn’t very good. I ordered the vegetarian dinner. The meal comes with coffee or tea, and vanilla ice cream for dessert. The coffee at the beginning and ice cream at the end were the best parts of the meal. All the food that came in-between was forgettable. It gives me no satisfaction to be critical of Indian entrepreneurs who are attempting to keep an Indian restaurant going in a city that probably doesn’t have enough of an Indian population to support a place like this. My bill came out to about $ 15, which was far more than what this meal was worth. I left $ 20, just to be supportive of these people. I hope this restaurant improves over the course of time, and then has a lot of success. But I wouldn’t eat here again unless the place made some serious improvements.

I have eaten plenty of Indian food before through out the US. And it is up there with the majority.

I would suggest avoid this restaurant the food is horrible. We were driving from Phoenix to San Diego, and did a search on Google and found this restaurant and we were tired, so ordered take out Chiken Tikka Masala, Bhindi Masala(okra) and vegetable biryani, total came to $ 45. To keep this review short, I would sum it in one word«insipid». The food is horrible, it felt like the person took a bottle of instant curry and read off the label and tried to cook it and even then screwed it up by putting too much salt. The Nan bread tasted worse than the ready to eat ones that you get at Trader Joe’s. They charge $ 13 for one entrée, which is big time ripoff considering the small amount of food they give. In a way it was good they gave us a small amount because we threw most of it out. Again, avoid this restaurant and being an East Indian, I am feel bad that this joint has the name India in it, because the food is horrible.

Worst Indian I’ve ever had. Super disappointed in food taste, price, and portions. Not to mention the atmosphere of the non air conditioned dining room.

Writing this on behalf of my aunt who had the worst experience. I believe its our responsibility to report harsh treatment to customers so others stay away. Apparently the food sucks and the owner is very very rude. The dishes they brought were stale and when my aunt complained about taste, she was given a lecture by the lady on how to cook…(my aunt cooks fantasticly)… I suppose the owners are very haughty about their presence in a small town but no one wins over customers. I wud not suggest anyone go here until they change their attitude towards customers and start dishing out some decent food. Very very Bad !

I don’t like seeing one star for this restaurant, the owners are very very friendly and have great conversations, they are attentive and that’s the service I like. I know Yuma’s not the best place to have an Indian restaurant, demographically speaking, but hey, It’s a great choice to explore. I eat here for the buffet, and the options on their menu are great and authentic. The Mango lassie is delicious and their Naan tastes great, too. try for yourself, the place deserves more credit

The food is wonderful there! Just wished it would move to Phoenix. Vegetarian dishes were my favorite and even if you’re a big meat eater you won’t be disappointed.

Visited this place 18 months ago while traveling on business, and just got a Unilocal account and wanted to post a review. Obviously this place kinda stuck in my mind if I’m reviewing it 18 months after the fact! Food was atrocious and I think I would have been better off with a frozen dinner heated in my hotel room microwave. I was the only customer and half the lights in the place were turned off. Staff was fine, but food and atmosphere were less than one star.

You’ve got to be kidding me! This place is dooooomed! For $ 8.45, you get half a meal(i.e. the lunch special) with no ambiance(unless you think Indian sitcoms somehow qualify). That means that you get the smallest Indian dish I’ve seen from Singapore to Dubai and back again! You even have to choose between Basmati [rice] and Naan as if they are rationing or something. Honestly, these must be left-overs from their family dishes that they make on the weekends [since you generally can’t make any Indian food in 10 minutes].(See attached photos.) Not to mention, I was expecting a buffet since I called them and was told that they have a buffet Monday-Friday! How does this place think it will ever survive against competitors? If it does stand the rare chance of survival, I’ll consider opening my own Indian restaurant to give Yumans a real taste of India!!!

LOCATION: Stand along restaurant that can easily be missed. Right next to Dairy Queen on 4th Ave. Down the street from Burgers and Beer. ATMOSPHERE: Pretty empty as we ate at an odd hour around 2pm on a Saturday. There was 1 other group of people. Television playing Indian soap operas and variety shows. Clean and simple. FOOD: Good variety of dishes BUT the food itself was another story. What we ordered: 1. Mango lassi($ 3) — good, thick consistency but quite sweet and neon orange which indicated to me a lot of artificial additives. This was probably the best part of the meal unfortunately. 2. Vegetable soup(~5) — lots of veggies including peas, green peppers, cauliflower spiced with cilantro. The base of the soup was made from red lentils and was viscous. The flavor was a little off with a tangy taste which I wish was not there. Just okay overall… 3. Chicken curry(~$ 10) — it was just that… just a red curry sauce and some pieces of chicken… no veggies! So plain… flavor wasn’t even all that… just very salty. Over priced for a small appetizer size portion. 4. Shrimp curry(~$ 12) — little sweet but also too salty… Also small portion and no veggies! Booo… 5. Raita — OMG… this was waaaaaay too salty. DISGUSTING. No veggies like I’ve had it in the past with cucumbers and/or tomato… just a bowl of watery salty white yogurt… OMG… BLEH. Definitely the worst part of the meal. 6. Kheer — dessert with basmati rice in a mild mixture and few pine nuts. This was nice tasting but I wish there was more spice to it like cardamom or cinnamon or something… SERVICE: Sooooooo slow even with only 2 parties! Good thing we were not in a hurry to go anywhere. At least she was nice to our face… Looks like she was the only one in the whole restaurant. Waitress didn’t even do anything even when we commented on the raita and we were ordering a lot. Good establishments would comp us or offer a dessert or something. Geeez… PARKING: No problems in private lot. PRICES: Definitely overpriced considering portion size and quality. CONCLUSION: Man… I wish this was not the only Indian place in all of Yuma. This place has slow service and crappy Indian food… What a disappointment. Definitely not coming here again.

Have to agree, the food is not good. Very small place, seemed to be nice people and ok service, but food was very, very poor. Like it had been sitting around for a while, waiting to be reheated, and wasn’t good in the first place. Dine here only if you want reheated bad food.

The only Indian food place in the whole town! That said, it is the best Indian food in the whole town, ha! Definately not the best I’ve eaten, but you have to drive 3 hours to get better, so… Service is immediate, as there have never been more than 2 occupied tables any time I’ve been in. This makes it quiet, intimate even. Its nice for me, but they’d surely prefer more customers. They do have a buffet during the day, but I’ve never been to see it. I love naan! And the little pot and tiny spoon at the front door so that as you leave you can get a scoop of anise seeds and candied bits for breath freshening.
