Visiting Yuma for the weekend & decided to try this place out. While the wait to get your food is a little long(one person working only) the food was really tasty, my whole family enjoyed. Will definitely come again while in town visiting.

Nice staff. Ordered the beef veg and a green salad with house dressing. Didn’t call ahead but only waited about 10 minutes Not a huge fan of the veg. Just tons of cabbage, carrots and broccoli. Beef was good. Rice is nice. Green salad with house was very good. Crispy variety of greens, carrots and sesame seeds with a flavorful dressing.

I was in Yuma on work and I needed something a little healthier than the greasy Mexican food I had eating every day, so I stumbled into Charki’s. I got the Salmon & Veggie plate for $ 9 and it’s absolutely delicious(see my photo). The salmon is meticulously prepared, the rice is perfectly sticky, and the veggies are steamed to the perfect level of crispness. Just enough teriyaki sauce is drizzled onto everything. The order took a while(about 15 min) because everything is made from scratch. The wait didn’t bother me at all, especially after the deliciousness that followed! The quality and presentation of the food here(even in a takeout container) is what you’d expect at a restaurant that costs at least twice as much. I will be back here when I return to Yuma.

Even though we came to try the sushi and the woman who makes it wasn’t in at the moment, I have to give Charki five stars for outstanding teriyaki. Get the house salad dressing and have a beautiful picnic in Smucker Park!

It’s good for Yuma. The small teriyaki bowl is the perfect size for lunch and a good bargain at 5.95. Owners are super friendly and you do have to wait for a bit since it’s a mom and pop. The flavored were a bit lacking, but a little Sriracha fixed that right up. I’ll be back

Over all good served in to-go containers the ginger looked and tasted old like it had been stored in a plastic container it’s the only thing I did not eat also just a little bit expensive

Made fresh with great charbroiled taste! Highly recommended. I’ve now been here twice, having the chicken teriyaki bowl and chicken & beef veg plate. Fantastic!!!

I had the shrimp and beef plate. I really liked it! I asked for only a small amount of sauce cause teriyaki isn’t my favorite, and I read the other reviews about it being over done. The salad was fresh. I would go back again!

Three of us. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and the sushi roll. It was ok, nothing I’d order again. My husband ordered the beef and shrimp over rice. He got chicken and shrimp over rice with teriyaki sauce. He said the shrimp were good but the chicken was over sliced and dry. My friend ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl. It was white rice with chicken and teriyaki sauce on top. No veggies, just meat and rice. And again over sauced and the chicken was a bit dry. I’m not sure what all the hype is about but we won’t go back. The people running the place were very nice.

I order the teriyaki chicken beef with avocado, It was really good for my taste I could have used a little bit more rice the sauce was a little overwhelming without enough rice, customer service was very good.

Went here once before and got the salmon and shrimp teriyaki. Good portion size and lots of flavor. Don’t be deceived by its location and small dining area, the food is where it’s at. The second time I went here, we pre-ordered bibimbap on the phone. This is the only place in Yuma that I know of that offers bibimbap, although it is not on the menu. You have to call in to order(maybe it will be added to the menu if more people order it). It is a bit pricy, but definitely worth it! I love bibimbap, and if you don’t know what that is or have never tried it, come try it here. I would highly recommend this place. Tell your friends :)

Went here for lunch today and the food was fantastic! The kids had chicken bowls and I had a half and half chicken/beef plate with salad. I recommend the house dressing, it was a perfect balance of ginger and citrus. Overall my favorite teriyaki place in Yuma to date. Will be back again soon!

My family and I were returning from eating lavishly in Vegas and the Grand Canyon. After researching, my husband led us to Charki’s Teriyaki in Yuma. Walking in, I thought to myself«oh, cheap Asian food» It was a very small place where we had to walk up to the register to order. We had arrived at 8:15pm, and were the last and only people there. I just thought my husband was settling for something that was open in the area late. I was sooooooo wrong! I had the shrimp plate and it was fresh and delicious! There were 2 skewers of 5 juicy shrimp, each topped with green onions, garlic, LOTS of garlic, and teriyaki sauce on just the right amount of rice. It came with a fresh salad… and they even offered Thousand Island dressing! Bonus for someone my age who appreciates that dressing. And the lone woman who cooked the food and served us was very friendly and never made us feel like we kept her there beyond the time she wanted to go home. Although, we did notice as soon as we walked out and got in our car, those lights were off! I love surprising little gems like this. If a little place like this in an obscure strip mall in Yuma could pull off food this awesome, there is no excuse for anyone else not to bring it like Charki’s Teriyaki.

Driving back to San Diego and found Charki’s Teriyaki on Unilocal. The menu was simple and easy to order from, service was friendly and the food came quickly. There was air conditioning which is a big plus and best of all, the food was enjoyable. The meat(we had chicken and beef) was well cut. The rice was more moist than other Asian restaurant rice so it was easier to eat. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal and it was cool inside and had friendly service. If the trip to Yuma rises again, the cat will be back.

It says it’s open at 1030, but by that they mean the owner walks in at 1030. Or at least that was the case today… The place is clean and simple. Previous reviews were correct in that the food takes a little while to make, but again it’s made fresh. In any case it only took 15 minutes to make a chicken and beef bowl, so I guess he has the fastest rice cooker in the world. The portions are kind of small. Meat to rice ratio is 2:1 which is cool and everything but I love rice and I want more rice. The beef is a little too saucy IMO, which would’ve been fine if I had more rice. I don’t know if I mentioned that it needs more rice. All and all, not bad. $ 8 is a little steep for the amount of food, but it’s still cheaper than Hapas Restaurant at the airport which has a similar cuisine. I shall return! BTW I started eating my food before I realized I should take a picture. Sorry Unilocalers, I’m new to this.

Very very good food. Good prices too. I thought mine would be bigger than it was but my wife’s meal was really big. I will definitely be going back.

I ordered the salmon and shrimp combo plate. It was fantastic! The plate comes with a salad that is full of romaine lettuce and carrots with a homemade house lemon ginger dressing. The 4 large shrimp are juicy and have the right amount of garlic. The salmon flaked apart and with some teriyaki on it and the bed of rice. It was wonderful on its own but i put a bit of Siracha on it and the rice. It is served in a to go container that you eat at the table. This is a great spot for different and healthy food in Yuma. I’m trying the yakisoba or kimchi next time. It’s clean inside. The bathroom is nice. They have wifi. Service is great and friendly.

By far the best rice bowl place in Yuma. Although not as fast as other places their food is prepared fresh so it’s worth the wait. If you’re in hurry I recommend calling ahead. My go to dish is the salmon teriyaki bowl with brown rice. They put on some sort of herb sauce on the salmon first then the teriyaki sauce. The combo is fantastic! Their teriyaki chicken and beef bowls are also very tasty. As others have mentioned the employees/owners are also very nice.
