My favorite ice cream store in Oklahoma. And their food is fresh and always good. Don’t expect it to be fast, even the drive thru is slow most of the time. But, it’s worth it.

I want to start out by saying that I like Braums. The only complaint I have is with this store. Getting your order correct is nearly impossible at this location. If you like Braums and want to get what you ordered, find the next closest location.

Today was to be a big day for me — allowing myself to have a hamburger and french fries at Braums. Didn’t turn out to be what I thought. I have been going to Braums in Yukon, Oklahoma since Braums came to our town, however the Braums on Main Street far surpasses the Braums just off of Hwy Interstate 40. The french fries were cold and I asked that they be replaced and I received another cold order. The only employee that noticed my long wait was a lovely gentleman who was gathering the trash. He had a wonderful personality and will go places, I’m sure. I noticed that the fry baskets were reading«Heating». Why were they using old fries at all — just say«No fries right now.» I shall go to Main St. and try Braums again as I hate to cross it off since I have been there many times but always downtown. The service was ever so slow and I thought they had forgotten me and given my order to the drive-in window. I went to purchase egg nog and the stoic young man stood with arms folded and did accommodate the purchase but I don’t think that he wanted to be there at all. Where are our respectful young employees? Is there any time spent in training these people or giving them an orientation lesson? Just thought you ought to know that at around 4:00 P M on Dec. 28, 2013, my experience at Braums at I40 in Yukon, Oklahoma was a bummer.

Average ice cream parlor. We had never been to a Braum’s and it was efficient. They also have a little mini mart in there, but the snacks are not all that impressive. Average is the word that comes to mind. Average.

While driving through Oklahoma, our goal was simple. Get in, get out. At one gas station, my all-knowing husband said, «Look, ice cream.» I went inside and found a small grocery store that had some fresh produce, and about FIVEAISLES of ice cream! So many flavors!!! At the ice cream stand, they had 27 flavors to choose from. The young man working behind the counter was funny, and told us a bit about the history of Braum’s. I ended up choosing a pistachio on waffle cone, and the following 20 minutes of my life would prove to be some of the best. Oklahoma might not have had much to offer us, but dang, that ice cream was GOOD.
