I am extremely pleased with the service that Jack provided. I recently bought my first «pro» guitar (USA Fender) and didn’t want to take it to a big box store for service, I’ve had a few less than satisfactory experiences with GC. I found Jack through Unilocal and I’m happy I took the chance. Aside from his excellent service, it was a fun & personal experience to hear his honest opinions on various topics. Jack is there to provide a service, not to sell you on anything. You aren’t going to get his wisdom and experience at a big box store and for this I am grateful. As far as the work done, I had a bridge pup swapped out and had the tuning taken down a ½ step along with a setup and vibrato float. The work was done in less than a day and the guitar was returned to me cleaner than when I dropped it off. I look forward to doing more business in the near future with JRS, I have some other guitars that I want him to «dust off» for me and it was his excellent service which has inspired me to do so. I found Jack through a slow process of taking my guitars to various big box music stores and getting his card. I never visited until a musician friend of mine highly recommended him. I brought him one of my guitars, and i must say it has never played or sounded better. Jack is a very meticulous technician, excellent work. For me, my guitars and amps JACK IS THE man!

I found Jack when I purchased an acoustic Epiphone to start beginning guitar lessons. I had him restring and tune it. Great job. Then I broke a string and he fixed it for me. I then purchased a Fender American Standard Limited Edition electric guitar and immediately took it to Jack. He talked with me about the guitar and we went over each part just looking at it while he did measuring and a light examination. We decided that the fret board needed oiling, new and better strings needed to be put on it and a thorough examination of the guitar was needed. Jack did a superb job! I will not go to anyone else. He used to work for Fender back in the day, so I knew he knew what he was talking about when discussing my guitar. He makes suggestions, but is not a salesman! He tells you straight up front what is needed and he doesn’t fool around. He is a fair price man with a laid-​back nature about him. I will never trade him for another, he is that good!

I recently took my 2000 Les Paul to Jack for a setup and fret repair and he did an incredible job! Then today I called him for tube and attentuator recommendations for my Peavey Delta Blues and he gave me great advice without some sales pitch about how he could do this and that to it for a service fee. This guy is a pro and I will take all my gear to him instead of traveling to Huntington Beach where my old favorite luthier shop is located.
