First timers since the only reason went my husband and I got a free $ 15 gift card from my Christmas party. The design is pretty cute– diner style. Not loud, sorta cozy. The employees were very nice. Food was yummy and cheap !!

Linda’s is a friendly little spot in Yuba City, tucked away in a little stretch of shops. The inside is decorated like a 50’s diner with all kinds of music memorabilia on the walls and local photos hung on the wall. One the inside there are booths that line all the walls, the kitchen in the center with a bar around it(like the old soda fountains) and some larger tables near the front. We ordered breakfast and I got the veggie omelete. I am someone who is pretty picky about restaurant eggs, and this was pretty good. We went on a day that was pretty busy so it took us a while to get our food, but other than that it was okay. Good dependable breakfast place.

We have wanted to try this restaurant for a while because it’ looks super cute from the outside. Wish we hadn’t. Processed cheese in the omelette, frozen diced breakfast potatoes, weak coffee, fake creamer. Indifferent staff; hope you don’t get placed in Wes’ section. Cute patriotic theme however no discount for retired military, only active service. Disappointed!

The food is very good and the wait staff are always friendly. The place is very clean and kept up well. Lots of locals are regular customers and the place has a friendly feeling. They have lunch specials on weekdays and are a good variety. The portions of food is ample, you won’t leave hungry. If you like homemade pies you have to try theirs. Made fresh daily and they are great.

I brought my five year old niece here for a date lunch. Boxed macaroni for $ 5? Really? It came out like mush underneath and air dried on top. Her fries had a hair in it and my hamburger was just a preformed frozen patty. Super disappointed and won’t be coming back or recommending it to anyone. It may be a local hot spot for breakfast, but I didn’t find anything here to bring me back. I would have given a lower rating except the servers were kind.

My 11 year old daughter went to Linda’s with her grandparents for lunch and this is her review: I like it there, they have really big milk shakes! I had the grilled cheese. It was good because they have the kind of cheese I like.

I never do any ratings until my third visit. I don’t know, being a restaurant manager in years past, there is room for improvement on the output on speed for preparing the food. The place wasn’t that busy. The wait staff is a little disconnected from whom is paying their salaries, the customers. Had to wave a hand after wait staff walked past my empty coffee cup at the counter. There is rarely follow up after serving the meals. Something I always requested from my wait staff. They can also have a little better interaction with their customers. Mediocre in that sense. On the other hand, food quality is wonderful. Best eggs Benedict in town. Watch your silverware. This was the second time I had to reject eating utensils. The only reason I eat here is because the Sundowner Café is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. I call it like I see it. Not bad, but needs some improvement.

One of my favorite places to go in town! Has an amazing bakery with homemade pies. Breakfast and lunch is always good and it has a great old fashioned style! I love it. If you’re coming through, you have to stop here!

Came in this morning because I had an extra hour before GameStop opened! I have been wanting to TRY this place for a long time… First visit ;) This place is COOL… the whole interior design, colors, nostalgic memorabilia, old school classic diner feeling, pretty AMAZING to be here for the experience! It is located directly in downtown Yuba City on Plumas St. Knocked off one star because the service was very slow, which I didn’t mind waiting for my food at all, but when it came time to pay, took at least 5 minutes or more me standing at the register waiting before anyone acknowledged me. When I first entered, a waitress said to sit wherever I wanted. I went to the yellow stools/bar counter. There were plenty of open tables and it was somewhat busy. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, even has nice music playing. A friendly man came over to take my order, I thought he was great, checked on me and brought me my breakfast, refilled my water in calm polite manner. I didn’t get a warm welcoming vibe from the female staff, they seemed stressed or too busy, not in a happy energetic morning moods!!! I ordered the special of the day, Chicken Fried Steak. Food was good and filling, I didn’t finish all the potatoes, the English muffin was toasted perfectly! When I got home, posted my pictures on Unilocal and then read a few other Unilocalers reviews. I noticed several complaints about it not having a soda bar and others negative experiences with the slow service. The soda thing, not a big deal to me, yeah service was kinda slow, but I am a very patient person. That being said, I would definitely return next time to try lunch and a milkshake. This place is SOCOOL inside, it would be great to bring your family or kids or grandparents too, it’s a really nice atmosphere. Just keep in mind they are only open for breakfast/lunch and close around 3pm.

This girl loves ’50’s diners and old fashion soda bars. Although this restaurant is clean, spacious and offers a nice variety on their menu, Breakfast and Lunch only, I was incredibly disappointed that they DONOT have old fashion sodas. Say what? It’s true! Even though the restaurant has«soda bar» in its name ~ you won’t find old fashion sodas here :-(Nonetheless, the food was great. It was lunch time, so we didn’t order a huge meal ~ in fact, we simply ordered from the children’s portion of the menu! That’s right, grilled cheese, chicken fingers and french fries and a chocolate shake. The food was not greasy at all, which is a huge plus! The chocolate milkshake had the perfect amount of chocolate. We heard several customers rave about their pies, but we were too full to order a piece. We’ll be back to try the pies and that scrumptious looking Pumpkin Spice Muffin!

Old fashioned American diner with the foid to match. We decided to stop in on St. Paddies Day. Was kind of disappointed that there is no soda bar since it’s in the name. My husband hand the corned beef and cabbage which he loved and I had a fried egg and ham sandwhich, also very good. The magic happened when we ordered pie. He had banana cream, I had coconut cream and they were to die for! We will absolutely be back for those!

This is a quaint little diner located in Yuba City. It’s on a strip of locally owned restaurants, shops, and bars also amidst empty store fronts for lease. I would like to add one irrelevant comment: I really feel this area has a lot of potential to boom with the right venues! Anyway I walked in and was a little lost. I wasn’t greeted by anyone and the locals kind of stared at me funny. I think they could tell that I was from out of town.(Yuba city is a very small town!) I stood there for a bit and then sat myself. I picked a spot at the«bar.» My son ordered a ¼ cheeseburger with fries and a Sierra mist. I ordered a roast beef wrap. The one issue I had with here was the wait. It took them a long time to make very simple meals.(Approx 40 mins) My son ate the majority of his food. He said it was really good. I thought my wrap was delicious. It comes with your choice of a side. I picked fresh fruit. We both shared an order of their cranberry orange scones. They were so yummy! She warned them up for us! If I’m in the area I would say that I will definitely come back and I would recommend Linda’s Diner to anyone in the mood for diner style meals!

In what universe is this a soda bar? They don’t have a soda bar, at all. the food is way, way over priced. The pie is good but not worth the money. And seriously, how in the world is this place even audacious enough to call themselves a soda bar? It’s NOT a soda bar, not even close!

Sad to say I made my last visit to Linda’s today. I’d like to start out by saying that I love the food(especially the breakfast, chocolate malts, blackberry cobbler a la mode, and their soups are fantastic) and their wait staff is great and friendly. That said, I will unfortunately not be eating at Linda’s again after today’s visit. I have NEVER been treated so rudely, and what’s worse, it was by the restaurant’s namesake! I am a fairly regular customer at Linda’s, typically going in at least once a week. Today, my coworkers and I decided to have lunch there to celebrate a birthday. Our waitress was great– very friendly and helpful. We ordered, and when our food arrived, my friend found a hair in her french fries and pulled it out to show the waitress– she was quick to take the food back to the kitchen and get a new plate started. When the rest of our food came out, my other coworker found a hair in her salad as well. Again, our waitress was prompt in returning it to the kitchen and apologized profusely. I’d like to point out that this has never happened during one of my visits before, so it was a shock when not one but two hairs made it into food at our table. Finally we all had our food sorted out and went on with our lunch as usual. By the end of lunch our waitress came by to drop off our checks and asked if she could talk to Tim and Linda about our experience at lunch. We had some time, and it was a generous offer as we could tell she was very embarrassed and apologetic about what happened, so we stuck around. A few minutes later, Linda came walking up to our table(we were right up front by the door) and was flipping through our checks. She stopped, paused, sneered at us, and said, «So what exactly was the problem with the food?» When my coworkers replied that they had found a hair in each of their orders, she cut them off with, «So the food was replaced? Was that not compensation enough? What exactly are you expecting to be done?» I was speechless. Where did that attitude come from? My coworker was on it, and advised Linda that we hadn’t even asked for compensation or to even talk to her, that it was just a nice gesture from our waitress since we found not one, BUTTWOSTRANDSOFHAIR, in the orders at our table. At that, Linda flicked the tickets down on the table, said, «I guess that’s it then, ladies», turned on her heel, and left. I honestly still can’t believe that an owner of a business would treat paying, loyal customers like that. It was completely disrespectful and rude. Totally uncalled for. It’s a good thing Linda has good staff, because without them, she would be losing customers left and right with that sour attitude. Maybe, Linda, you could have just apologized and said you’d talk to the kitchen staff about the incident! You treated us like we were filth, from the words coming out of your mouth to the sneer on your face. Maybe you should consider that in the future when speaking to customers.
