Skip the chain pizza joints, they pale in comparison to this. This is real homemade dough, made fresh, not some processed crap that’s shipped in. Plus, where else are you going to get sauteed escarole on your pizza? My personal favorite is their italian greens pizza, with hot peppers. The current location on Market Street was a former Dunkin Donuts, so the seating is limited. If you’re a local, and a fan of the former Avalon Garden’s on Belmont, you’ll love Uptown’s pizza — it’s even better than the new Avalon Gardens downtown imo(as a former diehard AG fan, lol). My only gripe is I wish they had moved into a bigger building and had a full bar with TV’s

This place is great! Our whole family enjoyed our meal thoroughly. I am really sick of pizza and rarely eat it anymore, since our oldest son wants it ALLTHETIME! However, I gave their white pizza with Italian greens(spinach and escarole) a shot and I wasn’t disappointed. It was absolutely delicious. Both of our sons really enjoyed their Little Joe size pizzas(Pepperoni and pepperoni with bacon) and they were very inexpensive. My husband had the daily special of chicken parmesan which came with a tasty Italian salad(or soup) and garlic bread. He said it tasted better than the one he usually gets at a place in our hometown and it was half the price. His only critique was that the pasta to meat ratio was a little off. Our server, Ron, was so friendly that we asked if he was the owner. We could not have asked for better service. He greeted us when we walked in and was friendly and attentive throughout. The only thing that prevents us from giving this place a 5+ is that the building, dining room, and restrooms could use an update. However, the food and service are top notch!

We love uptown pizza! The white pizza is the best white pizza in Youngstown… or possibly anywhere for that matter. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area… everything is awesome!

One of the top pizza places in Youngstown. That’s a high compliment. The sauce alone is worth the trip.

when I lived in town, I would get the Lil Joe and Salad for lunch quite often. During my last visit, we ordered two pizzas(this is my gram’s fav pizza place and it has to be this location). What can I say… good crust, nice amount of grease… AWESOME pizza!

I stayed nearby and it seemed like the best choice. Coming from a city with a considerable amount of mediocre or just plain bad pizza, I was hoping for the best. Uptown’s price is right, although the sizes are either petite or what many places would consider a medium. There’s plenty of sauce and cheese, although the toppings could be a little more generous. The sauce isn’t heavy on spices, but still quite good. Overall – very good value, not exceptional but much better than the usual motel/shopping strip choices and better than the typical overpriced drek that predominates in DC.

The pizza and sandwiches are very good and the salads are always fresh(I love the creamy Italian dressing). The best part is the value you get for the money. You can have lunch for 2 people for $ 11. For me it was a personal pizza and a salad. My dad had a personal pizza and a cup of wedding soup. It’s a hidden gem on Belmont Avenue.

The perfect pizza! The crust is excellent and the sauce is great! If I could I would have this pizza shipped to California. 12 inch extra cheese and roasted red pepper for around 10 bucks became my best friend during my Ohio trip. I tried it and went back the next day! I used to go here in college for the little joe and salad for around 4.00 ! This is the best pizza I’ve had in quite some time! Love it!

I had the BBQ chicken with pineapple pizza, it was amazing! Only problem with this is you wake up feeling like a pin cushion the next day, lol(a lot of salt in the cheese they use). I gave 4 stars, because I think they’re a little overpriced as far as medium pizzas go.

Very good pizza for a small locally owned restaurant. Everytime we have gotten pizza to go we have NEVER been disappointed and always eaten way more than we should because it is so good.

Lunch special everyday… cup of Italian Wedding Soup and a 6″ pizza for $ 4.75. That is a deal that is just too good to pass up! Great service, good food. The wedding soup was really delish. The pizza, which they call the«little joe», is awesome. Although it’s only 6″, it’s thick-crust, and LOADED will cheese all the way to the edge! Other toppings cost extra, but it’s still a great deal, with good food. It does get quite busy around the 12p-1p hour.

I agree with the other review, great service, great food, great prices. Little Joe pizza and wedding soup for under a 5 spot.

This place has been around for at least 30 years. And for good reason! Their pizza is outSTANDing. There are only two sizes: the regular size(12 inch) and the much smaller, single-serving Little Joe. The sauce is a bit sweet, the cheese is just right, and the crust is not quite thin, not quite thick. Excellent Italian wedding soup too. And prices are very reasonable. Service is friendly if super-casual. The place is small, only seats about 50, and it can get crowded during the weekdays lunch hour. Otherwise they’re accessible. Take-out is the norm but there’s decent seating.
