A visit to this place on Mother’s Day is what kept me away from Unilocal for the last week. My little baby girl came into this world… woohoo! Mom and baby, Lila Grace are doing great and my review is primarily based on my wife’s experience along with the amount of time I spent here We arrived at midnight on a Sat. night. We go to the main entrance and the doors are locked. We had to drive to the back of the building and enter via the ER. My wife’s contractions are about a minute apart so time is of the essence. We get in and pass through the security metal detector manned by an armed guard. We are directed to the seventh floor… yes, seventh without the offer of a wheelchair for my wife. We walk down a long hallway and get onto the elevator. We reach the 7th floor and continue to walk the halls finally finding the admitting area. Again, the nurse checks us in asking all of the damn questions while my wife is now in active labor but we still have to endure the approx 8 – 10 min process. We finally get into the room and ball is finally rolling. The Doctor and nurses were very attentive and courteous to us both. The epideral actually slowed her labor but at 10AM we met our new daughter. Over the course of my wife’s two day stay, she said things could have been better. She said the nurses were nice but things were lacking in the accommodations department such as extra gowns, blankets and baby stuff(diapers, wipes, ointments, etc) The parking here is in a 4 story parking garage. Not bad except you have to walk across a bridge that connects to the hospital and leads you into the main lobby. Then we had to trek up to the 7th floor to visit. When walking and carrying items for your wife all the while you are trying to keep your other three little ones in line because they are excited, it makes one wish the parking setup was more visitor friendly. Food was OK for hospital grub. On the last day they offered my wife and I a dinner for two. We had steaks and shrimp with mac and cheese, mixed veggies, salads and cheesecake. I was pleasantly surprised that it was as good as it was. A plus I guess. Overall, an okay experience but my wife said if she had to do it all over again she would have went to the hospital where we had two of our three boys. In the end, my wife and daughter came home to us happy and healthy. This is what matters the most.
