Wanted to go eat here. Hours are posted open til 9. It was 7:15 and they told us they were closed for the evening. Good has always been good here. Just a little pricey. I guess the bakery is closed now too. What a disappointment!

I love the veggie sandwich and the beer choices. I was disappointed that the bakery was closed and then found out that it’s closed for good! I am so sad; I loved their cupcakes! My family was offered dessert and we took four to go. We found out that each dessert was $ 8 when we paid the bill. My husband and I had our key lime pie and white chocolate cheesecake. Both were less than savory. The cheesecake was stale and the pie barely tasted of key lime and had nuts in the crust. I love the food but we always looked forward to visiting the bakery afterward.

I used to like it a lot, but not so much. The Apple Gouda sandwich is good. The corned beef sandwich is not good –definitely skip that one! The soup order comes two minutes before the food sometimes, I’ve eaten burned peas before and then sent them back, it’s just not that great and I really wanted to love it. The people are nice, but I wish that was enough. Makes me wish I lived closer to the city.

Well, not sure how much longer this going to stay open. Menu items and actual execution lacking cohesiveness. Ingredients of lower quality being substituted and nothing offered for dessert. So, maybe time to update the menu and name or keep deceiving guests. Huge space available so if you have a need for event space, maybe you could bring your own food??? Server was very pleasant, efficient, and apologetic about the lacking execution. Locals advised that the on going road construction is killing the downtown business.

My husband and I have been here a few times now for dinner and we keep coming back! We weren’t expecting such a fine dining experience the first time we came, maybe because it has«bakery» in the title. But we called it a hidden gem after our first visit. We absolutely loved the crab cakes for our appetizer. I had the lobster pasta, which was so creamy and flavorful! My husband wished he had ordered that after he tried mine :) And we both had pie a la mode for dessert — cherry & caramel apple nut. Have to say they were both great, but the caramel apple won between the two(also what I ordered). We’ve enjoyed our experiences there so far and hope to make it again for a new one… The staff is very friendly. We asked about a painting on the wall & the manager and owner both came to talk with us. That was a nice touch. Showed us that they really care about their customers… Though this last time we came, we waited a bit long to be waited on. And the«pauses» between being checked on seemed a little longer than we would have liked, especially since it was later and not super busy.(I had to get up to ask someone to refill our water). But I hate to complain, since our waitress was so friendly. So it’s not going to stop us from coming back! Also, we got to enjoy live bands the last 2 times we’ve been there on a Friday night! Such a great way to end the evening after a delicious meal. Sit down, have a couple drinks, and listen to some blues. Thanks Cobblestone for giving us a fun place nearby for date nights! You’ll see us again soon :)

Amazing quality! I ordered a cake for my daughter’s birthday. They showed so much professionalism, kept in contact with me, made changes, and made sure to put the customer first. Lindsay your awesome! Let’s not forget how great the cake tasted and looked. Referring them to all my friends, and they have honest prices. If you need a cake Cobblestone is the place!

This place is kind of a hidden gem! Although I’ve only been here once, I had a great time. My boyfriend and I went for lunch and received excellent service. We both loved our meals and the appetizer; I definitely plan on going back. I hope this place gets enough business to stay open and do well because their food is quality… which can be difficult to find in Yorkville.

I had a mixed experience eating here. I went there with a friend and her husband on a below zero degree night… aka I don’t want to cook night. I do love the chocolate martini and the gluten free chips with blue cheese. The champagne vinegarette is amazing… granted there’s champagne in the name so how can you go wrong? The bad part about the food was that the steak in the steak with risotto was burned. That was all I was able to taste. The steak was also poorly seasoned, but then the burnt taste probably overpowered whatever seasoning that was on the meat. Oh well… The risotto was the best part of the entrée. Another con for this experience is that even though it was not busy at the time the service was really slow. My dinner companion was getting really frustrated with the slow service. I on the other hand had chocolate martini in my hand so all is good with me. ^.^ overall not bad… I would go back if I am hanging out with people just because they have a well labelled gluten free menu items and the chocolate martini. I am gluten intolerant so eating out can be quite frustrating sometimes.

Had an amazing dining experience! I ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer, it was fantastic! I ordered the steak risotto for my entrée, the steak was perfectly cooked and the risotto was delicious. Angela was my server, I enjoyed her attention to detail and outstanding service. Overall I was quite surprised, I honestly wasn’t expecting much, however this place is a gem! My only criticism is there needs to be a separate identity for the restaurant separate from the bakery. I never would have known that the restaurant downstairs existed if I didn’t ask a lot of questions. Anyway, can’t wait to go back. Bön appetite!

I’ll keep this simple: This is for the Bistro part… Pros: Good wine selection Decent food selection Decent food quality What I’ve ordered: Roasted Red Pepper Bisque — super yummy 9⁄10 Steak Risotto — great dish 8⁄10 Warm bread — 9⁄10(you might have to ask for it… perhaps several times) Wild Mushroom Ravioli — a must! 9⁄10 Fontina Cheese Fries — a lot to handle! 6⁄10 Cons: Can be hard to get servers attention at times Annoying construction on 47(Not their fault) I’m glad to be able to enjoy this type of restaurant rather than just a sea of mediocre chain restaurants! It’s worth a visit!

The atmosphere is amazing, the food is delicious! The bakery has some of the best goods I’ve ever tasted and I’ve tried many things at lunch and looooved it all!

Took our moms here for Mother’s Day looking forward to a nice brunch. Reservation was at 1:30 and we were seated promptly. Service was the attentive and adequate. I knew it was a brunch buffet going in and at $ 20 per person was expecting pretty good quality, selection, etc. Man, what a disappointment! Most of the food was cold and looked/tasted like it had sat too long. Carving station was sloppy at best, meat was dried out, no sauces to go with meats… awful. Only item that seemed to be hot and fresh was the eggs benedict. Salads, sides, etc. we’re just set on the table… no eye appeal whatsoever. Rule #1 and 2 of a buffet — make sure food is hot and fresh and tier dishes for visual appeal. Not sure if we missed the prime time lunch rush or what but the occasion and price warranted better attention to the food. Or at least allow customer to order off the menu instead.

Not quite sure what’s going on in this restaurant but something has changed. Went there for Easter brunch and well, I was quite disappointed. The buffet items were cold when they should have been warm. Macaroni salad for an Easter buffet item? Really? The mini-tarts looked as though they were forcibly pried out of the pan and were dry and bland in flavor. And charging $ 25 per adult for this entire experience? Not good. I’ve been a regular customer since this bistro opened downtown. Now I’m a bit leery of returning after this last dining experience.

Very impressed with the cake that was made for my daughter’s birthday. I wanted a custom Frozen princess birthday cake and Cobblestone delivered just that. I called 4 places and Cobblestone was the only one able to create a custom cake in a very short amount of time. The service I received was top notch and I really felt like a valued customer. I would recommend them to anyone looking for something special that tastes great and won’t break the bank. I just wish they were closer to me!

My initial review was before they added the restaurant. Cobblestone has since become my go to place in town to hang out with friends, have lunch with the family, and it’s a nice place to get delicious treats. I always have a great experience on the restaurant side. I’m always offered a taste of wine before deciding which glass to choose and the staff ALWAYS graciously allows us to stay past closing, assuring us there’s no rush. I will admit the bakery side comes up short for two reasons, so here’s where they lose a star: 1. They open late for a bakery 2. Even when you arrive the moment they open, the donut selection, even on weekends, is usually lacking.

I’ve been here twice for lunch, and it’s been nice. Attractive décor, good food, okay service. I’ve also stopped in to the café to have some coffee and do some work on my laptop. The café au lait was yummy, and I appreciate the free wifi. The staff is friendly. This past Sunday we went for brunch with my in-laws. We ordered the beignets as a starter, and they were delicious. I got a kobe burger, which was all right. The star of the show was my husband’s meal: the brat skillet. Oh, man. He ordered it because the menu said the meat was from Dave’s Meat Market, a Yorkville butcher. It was phenomenal. It was so good, that’s all he can think about. It’s super crunchy hash browns, onions and peppers, cut-up breakfast sausage-sized brats, and eggs covered in country gravy. He keeps referring to it as «one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had.» It’s was pretty rich, so he really didn’t need to eat much for the rest of the day. This place is nice for a lot of reasons; you can go alone, on a date, with kids, or as a group. I’ve never thought the prices were too high. The service has been hit or miss for me, but we’ll keep going back for the atmosphere and food, the brat skillet in particular!

Been there a couple times just to see what’s up, but I wasn’t too pleased to find that no one was there to help us! When we got the food the portion sizes were ridiculously small and the flavor could have been better. Their bakery is not very impressive, but I expected it for a small shop and the cupcakes were not very moist or tasty. Oh yea the location is just unorganized! It took me almost five minutes to figure out where to park and how to get in the place! Will not be going back, period.

I really enjoy this place and have gone several times before giving a review. I have had lunch on about 10 occasions and go in several times a week for just coffee and pie/muffins to go. 8 times out of 10 the food is really good. I think they have an alternate chef on certain days because I have had meals that were mediocre at best. One time I had dinner there and my husband’s shrimp diablo risotto was very bland. Amazing wine selection and good staff. I love the coffee they serve there which is some organic stuff from Milwaukee called Alterra I believe. The pecan pie in amazing and I am a big fan of the pistachio muffins.

My lover and I decided to check out the bakery on a Sunday morning, at 9:45AM. PRIME bakery-visiting time. First of all, the street presence is nonexistent. There is one small sign, above a door that you don’t even use to get in. There needs to be more notice that– This is Cobblestone Bakery. Please come in! We’re open! After we found the front door on the south side of the building, you enter a confusing foyer. We looked around, unclear for a bit, and then noticed the bakery slightly behind us to the left. Strange… but when you walk in, you’ll know. The smell of a bakery, I think, should be overwhelming. Aromas of newly baked goods and those in progress should fill the air. There seemed to be a faint smell of cinnamon rolls, but thats it. Not even coffee smell. Its quiet in there. VERY quiet. Like a library. There was faint music coming from the kitchen, but none in the dining room. A strange tension was in the air, like there was a rift between the staff. The walls are stark and bare, craving something, ANYTHING, claiming that the owner really loves to be in the kitchen, baking. We were greeted, and asked what we wanted. No explanation of specials, freshly baked goods, recommendations. There was a stand with cut up pastries on it, but no sign to say they were free samples, no explanation of what they were. We ordered 2 coffees and 1 cinnamon roll, since we had spotted them in the nearly empty display. And it was the only thing we recognized, since there are no little display signs that tell you what you are looking at. While waiting for our goods, we checked out the printed menu. There are no prices for the food on the menu, so it must be expensive. Thats what I assume. Or the prices must change due to market price. Seems shady. The coffee station is right by the register, poor placement if there is a line. No garbage by it either, so you have to walk back and forth to the garbage station, which would cross the line, if there ever was one.(I have a feeling there wont be…) Also they ran out of regular sugar. When asked if they had more sugar in the back, they said, ‘Yeah, I’ll have someone get it.” They dilly’d around, and while we were waiting, for like 3 minutes, we came to the conclusion that sugar would not be available to us. So we left, and as we were walking out the front door they said, «Did you need the sugar?» Well, no, thank you. I only asked for it minutes ago. I’ll drink my sugarless coffee until I get home and can provide my own sugar. Bring your own sugar. BYOS. It must be a new trend in bakeries. ******** The cinnamon roll was good, after we microwaved it. It seemed like it was baked there, maybe yesterday. But they should at least warm it up for you. I will not return.
