Very good service and food is excellent. Visited twice in one week.

I’ve been here twice now and both times I’ve been impressed with the food and service. This location is a lot bigger and can accommodate larger parties than the original location in West York. The phở is tasty and filling. The summer and spring rolls are always a treat. Their salt and pepper chicken wings served with spicy ketchup crispy and delicious. Their Kalbi(Korean marinated short ribs) were meaty, flavorful and irresistible. If you love Vietnamese food and Thai food you got to try this place out. Thank you for reading my review. This review is based on my opinion and personal experience.

The best place I’ve ever been for Thai cuisine, in York or elsewhere. Beats any big city Thai restaurant I’ve been to, hands down. As the name suggests, the food is more southeast Asian fusion, but it’s mostly in the vein of Thai. The new location is beautiful, and has a lot more seating than the previous location. Be sure to make a reservation, because they’re frequently packed, and wait times can be an hour or more. They’ve expanded the menu since the move, including adding a sushi bar. All the old favorites are still on the menu, but with new entrees, soups, starters and desserts. As always, the restaurant is BYOB, and there’s a wine and spirits store only a few door down. Now that they have an expanded kitchen, dining area and wait staff, the service is much faster than it used to be. Even if it wasn’t, the food would be worth the wait. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian friendly dishes on the menu. This is a family-owned business, and while it’s lost a little bit of that feel with the new location, you still see the owners serving food and clearing tables. Check out this restaurant for the best Asian food you’ll ever have!

Food was really good! When I went to pay, the person at the counter asked my group which of us ordered the fried cheesecake for dessert. They said the kitchen staff wasn’t too happy because it was«keeping them from going home earlier» and that we «shouldn’t order that as late as we did.» They close at 9PM and we ordered it at 8:15. I will not be going back.

Been to the original one in York City several times, and now to their new location out by Lowe’s a couple of times. Every time we’ve been there, the food has been very good. We really like the variety on the menu, and it all tastes fresh & flavorful. The staff is generally very friendly & helpful. There’s really nothing to complain about with this place. Great food, good service & nice ambiance. Go & enjoy.

The food and service were wonderful but it tends to be busy and there’s only one computer to ring people up to pay so that takes a while. Need more computers. Other than that, I highly recommend.

I used to go to the old location years ago and loved it. I just moved back to the area and was excited to learn it had moved to a larger, more convenient location. And the location does look great. However, the woman who has been the host each time I went was not very attentive and kind of grouchy, the service was at best slow, and the food wasn’t as good as I remembered. Some dishes were just OK, but one noodle dish was disappointingly bland. I had a very awkward moment when the server asked, «Is everything delicious?» She set the bar too high. I was much more impressed with the food from the new Thai restaurant in Dallastown.

Been come here since its old location and my husband and I love it. The new place is absolutely beautiful, warm and lovely. The new menu has expanded and now offers sushi. I go to school nearby and I have lunch here often now. Everything is always great and having just :0 minutes for lunch they always get my food ready to go quickly. The food is always delicious and hot. I love love love the lemongrass and coconut soups. The chive dumplings and summer rolls with tofu. And we ALLLOVETHEFRIEDCHEESECAKE! Omg! I could live and die eating that dessert. They are always warm and friendly and remember you.

Food is great but if you are ordering take out expect a decent wait. They don’t seem to be staffed appropriately to handle the amount of customers dining in and carrying out. This may prevent me from returning.

New location is very nice. Portions a good size. Prefer the actual food of Thai Restaurant on Market St or Krua Thai in Dallastown.

First night in York. Came to this place because of reviews and recommendations. Did not disappoint. Patrick gave us some great ideas. Service phenomenal. Reservations recommended but we got lucky. The winner was the coconut soup. Got a kick but excellent blend. Small was big enough. Also ordered the pad kee mau and lemon grass chicken. Large portions. Flavored melded nicely. Chicken is basic but a safe option for those who are picky. Will return.

I love this place and have been coming for years. I would normally give five stars because I know how wonderful the food is and how great the staff are, but my most recent experience is the reason for the loss of the fifth star. A friend and I decided to stop by for dinner while she was in town. We walked in and gave our name. It was shortly after the new location had opened and they were having a busy night. So, we walked up to the liquor store and grabbed a bottle of wine(it’s a BYOB restaurant). We walked back to the restaurant and ended up waiting a pretty long time before we were seated. We’ve both worked in hospitality and understand how crazy some nights can get, so it was only a minor setback. Once we were seated our server immediately brought us water and a corkscrew for the wine. I knew what I would be ordering, but my friend(who is a vegetarian) was able to quickly find a few dishes that interested her. This restaurant is great for vegetarians! Our waitress seemed a bit flustered, but that was understandable due to the high level of diners there that night. The only other setback was that our food took a while to be delivered, but once it was it was delicious! Nothing was cold or undercooked-it was all perfect! The new restaurant is beautiful. It’s at least twice the size of the old location and beautifully decorated. There is plenty of parking in the shopping center as well. I recommend seaweed salad and Pad Thai. Our bill was around $ 30 for two people as well, including an appetizer. Great prices!

This restaurant has yet to disappoint me, and I’ve been going for 20 years. Dined at their new location tonight. Everything was delicious, as always. Entrees for two, soft drinks, and a shared dessert and the entire bill was less than one entrée would be at an «upscale» restaurant. The staff is friendly and efficient. Yes, sometimes you will wait a while for your food. Make time. It’s worth it. Among my favorites: — the original summer roll. I could drink the dipping sauce. –the coconut noodle soup –grilled pork with spring roll: a crispy spring roll, sliced, and a seasoned pork patty on rice noodles over greens and herbs, drizzled with a vinaigrette — like sauce –their pad thai is the best I’ve had anywhere –the thai iced tea –sticky rice with mango for dessert. Do save room. You really should taste this.

**Vegan Review** I’ve been frequenting Viet Thai for around 15 years or more back when they were just a little place and Jens dad was running it. The food has always been incredible and affordable and the family that owns it has always been friendly and treats everyone like a relative. My girlfriend and I have been going together at least once a week for several years and we are vegan(no animal products of any kind). Jen and Joe the awesome husband and wife team have expanded to this beautiful new location and have also expanded their incredible vegan food and understanding of us. I highly recommend the vegetable roll vegan sushi, inari sweet pockets, fried tofu with peanut sauce, vegetable dumplings, tempura tofu(they don’t use egg!) Or the spring rolls that come with an awesome sauce! Get a Japanese soda too! My favorite meal there is there vegetable pad Thai done vegan(no fish sauce, butter, or egg) with yellow curry and add tofu mmmmm. The mussaman curry is also incredible! If you’re vegan you can’t do better than Viet Thai for a meal as all the servers, cooks and the owners know what it means and will not mess up your order! This place is a god send for those living with compassion in this small town. Say high to Jen and Joe for me when you go! They deserve all the success in the world!

Great service good food and great atmosphere! Now checkout is too slow one computer for paying and making reservation. To much wait to pay your bill but over all it was great.

Short ribs-tasted great, but there was hardly any meat. It was mostly gristle and bone. I’m used to Korean-style bulgogi short ribs that are boneless. The phở ga(chicken noodle soup) was filling, but not amazing. It’s definitely a hot spot now. Come early, call ahead and make reservations!

They moved here recently and the place at least doubled in size so service is a bit slow for now. For the first few weeks they have been slammed. There’s a good reason though. The food is great. I’ve noticed more staff there now and our lunch times have reduced in the last 2 weeks so things are starting to work out really well over there. Definitely give it a try,

We have visited Viet Thai twice and had great experiences both times. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. The first time we went there, it was rather busy and we ended up sitting at the sushi bar. That is the biggest complaint that I have about the place, so I guess that you could say that we are satisfied customers.

Vegans– take note. They know what we eat and don’t eat because one of the chef’s is a vegetarian and switching to a vegan. So nice to have a place know I don’t eat butter, eggs, chicken stock, etc. I ordered takeout. Very fast. I think I’ve found a new favorite.

I am very picky about eating out as I used to be in the food service industry. These guys have it down perfect! They have great service with authentic staff(none of that fake smiles kind of feeling), the atmosphere is stunning and relaxing, and the food has soul to it! What I mean by soul, is you can feel the life, flavor, and love that is put into the entrées! I always leave feeling content! Thank you Viet Thai!
