Oh my goodness. There really is no other non-chain restaurant to eat in in York– you have arrived if you have arrived at the doors of Trackside, which really is so close to the railroad tracks that it int erupts your conversation. Besides me simply loving the people of York and the company I found in this restaurant,(friendly waitress, owners on hand) the building itself is magnificent. I can’t wait to go back in the summer when the fountain and outdoor patio and bar are happening. The owner tells me they aimed for«New Orleans Style». I think they achieved it. The food was classic southern style– Oh my. Please try the sweet potato fries. I also had fried shrimp– buttery enough to remove a few years from your life and make you like it. Prices were very reasonable. A full bar on hand– maybe my only want was for a wine selection. The Trackside is really more of a beer and liquor and blues sort of establishment though and it seems best to embrace that. I hear they have live music sometimes. Note: On the door it says«members only», This is some sort of deal they have to pull off in order to sell alcohol throughout the week. You can buy a temporary membership for two dollars so don’t let it stop you from barging in. When I visited the business was really mellow. My party was the largest there. It’s not a nightspot yet but I think it’s headed that way, and I’m planning on returning.
