Providence Divine Cakes & Pastries

Underwhelmed by the selection of bakerys here in the Harrisburg area I decided to expand my search South into York. A Facebook friend directed me to Providence Divine & after her glowing recommendation & the positive ones here on Unilocal I placed my call. My wifes Birthday was only a week away & the staff was willing & eager to take care of me. Evie (sp?) helped with my queries via phone & offered a few decorative ideas based on my thoughts of what my wife would love. Happily settled on a Peanut Butter cake with a Chocolate Icing.
Brought my wife along the day of pick-​up & we were blown away during the unveiling. The cake was above & beyond my expectations.
Fast foward to the party, that cake was all everyone could talk about. 2^nd & 3^rd helpings were had by many. The flavor was as exquisite as the presentation. Taste is subjective but all 12 in our party gave 2 thumbs up!!!
Shop was easy to find. Plenty of parking. Inside found a clean display of a fantastic assortment of goodies. Staff was kind & efficient. The cake was perfect.
Run, don. t walk to Providence Divine, & bring cash. Plastic is not accepted.

We had a cake emergency on Saturday. I was hosting a baby shower for 60 people. I had ordered cupcakes from another venue. When I went to pick them up they were un-​edible and looked like a five-​year-​old decorated them. I had less than an hour to come up with a plan I called Providence and they had a cake in the back that wasn’t fully decorated. They brought up some samples of decorations and put it together. For under hundred dollars, I had a cake that would feed 60 Beautifully done and tasted amazing.

Love their fruit tarts and pies — especially the cookies and cream pie. They do occasionally have exotic cake flavors filled with mousse but in general, their baked treats are always fresh and wonderfully divine. :)

Seriously best cupcakes. Best cakes. Best bakery in York and surrounding areas. I’ve tried many cake flavors and I absolutely love the black & white and tastykak! Cash or check only (I regularly forget) but there’s a free ATM across the street. Enjoy :)

Stop by the store to buy some cupcakes and slice of cake. Some of the items in the display case looked as if its been there for months. The cupcakes look very good. Bought cupcakes which where delicious. Cake just didn’t look that tasty.

Cute, cash only bakery. Well designed birthday cakes with what seems like real buttercream. Small desserts are hit and miss. Cheesecake has been good. Cupcakes not so much. Macarons are average quality, maybe not so fresh. Had a sample of almond tart they were making for Easter, as it was superb. I’m also a big fan of the salted caramel cake they bake for the café next door, but they don’t seem to sell it at the bakery itself. For the area, it’s a very good bakery.

Average to Good tasting cakes. I ordered a birthday cake for my husband in the lemon poppy flavor. The requested decorations were sub-​par, but the cake itself was tasty.
Unfortunately, I’d NEVER return, for one simple fact and that is because they have the RUDEST female working at their shop. She acts as if she has better things to do than assist customers. She rolls her eyes when you ask her a question. I’m not sure if she’s the owner or not. I certainly hope not, as she was fairly immature and extremely cold. The situation was nearly laughable!
There are better options for «divine» cakes and pastries. I suggest checking out Janina’s off Leader’s Heights road. There you will find delicious cakes and pastries and even coffee. Moreover, you’re treated with warm smiles and genuine kindness.

Unique buttercream frosting and a great variety. I go out of my way to buy from here.
