Vietnamese is my favorite go-to cuisine these days and I try it everywhere. I either order Bun with pork and spring roll or I get Phở Ga(chicken soup). I opted for the former here tonight and was pretty disappointed. This is a really nice place. The people are great, the prices are good and the menu is large. This was not one of the better dishes I’ve had. I didn’t like the pork or the spring roll. The pork isn’t grilled, it was tough and just didn’t really taste very good. The spring roll looked like they tried to cut it with a spoon. It was mashed a bit and wasn’t really all that great anyway. I like it when they arrange it so you see the cucumber, cilantro, sprouts and lettuce on one side of the bowl and the noodles on the other with the meat on top. They buried the vegetables on the bottom and they suffered a little. They should come out as a crisp fresh relief to the noodles. I’m giving them three stars as a benefit of the doubt. Maybe the phở is great but I wouldn’t order this dish if I were you.

This will be my last visit to this restaurant. The carry out menu listed the ingredients in the dishes, but neglected to list more than ½ the ingredients that were actually in the dishes leaving us in a situation where some of us were unable to eat dinner. The person taking my order was extremely difficult to understand and was rude when I attempted to clarify my order — the message obviously did not make it through or the ingredient(allergy) issue would not have been as big of a deal. The portions were pretty generous, but the prices are high. The lemongrass soup had zero lemongrass flavor, but the add-in box had a very nice variety of items. On a positive note, the fresh rolls are top notch. I really want to like this place, but this was the third time and I’ve been sadly disappointed each time.

This place rocks! Really good Phở and the rice vermicelli bowls are always packed with veggies and your choice of meat. Have been going here for a while and don’t really go anywhere else for vietnamese. Try the summer rolls and I would also recommend the Meatball Vermicelli. Ignore the two bad reviews at the end, One is from Australia, she was probably looking for Koala Phở, and the other is from Vegas and just a dumbass.

My favorite restaurant. Spicy lemongrass soup is out of this world! Viet thai café is no comparison to phở bistro. Phở bistro is all fresh homemade food. Their soup game is strong. The kids run the front and are very polite and well mannered. They are great! Btw you have to order the crispy spring rolls with the fish sauce! Bangin! Looove this place! It may be a little pricey but you get what you pay for which is high quality ingredients and a very generous portion of food. I can’t finish a medium sized soup in one sitting. I get three big bowls of soup out of the large size. These people work very hard and it makes me feel good to support them by eating there as well.

Food is is really tasty. The family that runs the restaurant is really nice, and when you become a regular they really treat you like family. That said, new arrivals may be put off by the sometimes unattended to service. Usually this is because the servers are the children and they are doing homework at the same time ;) Doesn’t matter, just ask for 2 glasses of water up front, and don’t be afraid to get into a little banter/discussion with them, they don’t mind talking if you are friendly. But its all worth it for the FOOD! Make sure you add your toppings to the PHO, and the vermicelli. And this one is surprising… my favorite chicken wings are here… order the Tamarind wings, and save the sauce to add to your vermicelli bowl as an extra topping. If you like it spicy just ask!

The food gets a 5, but the service a 3. Each time I’ve gone(many) the service has been unusual. They seem to always do their own thing and leave you be. Not a huge deal, or at least not a big enough one to not come anymore. Pretty delicious.

THEBESTPHOINYORK!!! This is the best and may be the only place in York to get Phở and real vietnamese food. The vietnamese coffee is amazing as well as their boba or… bubble tea. The customer service is very nice and they are very helpful as well. I have never had a bad experience or bad food here.

I’ve eaten here numerous times. I love the phở and another dish but I currently forget what it is called. The fresh spring rolls are amazing. The service isn’t very professional and kind of slow and they could work on the décor to make the place look better, but I will still come here for the food.

Not open on Sunday when I tried to eat there for dinner. No sign explaining why they weren’t open, and the hours sign still indicated they were open Sundays until 8pm.

Delicious! Granted, we aren’t in a mecca of phở here in York, but I’ve never had a bad meal here. The phở is great, the noodle dishes are very good. I particularly like the vietnamese coffee.

Hit this place for lunch based on reviews. Kind of a hole in the wall joint with a suspect store front. Wanted some phở but was told it was only made with beef broth. At the waiters suggestion, had the lemongrass tofu and veggies. Came out in a huge bowl, veggies were not overlooked and it had a nice hint of lemongrass. I would have liked it more spicy but overall very good. Waiter was a young guy. Very pleasant and helpful.

Food: Average. We ordered: steamed shrimp rolls, chicken lemongrass bun, and shrimp lemongrass bun. The rolls were a let down. The wrappers were hard and poorly wrapped. There wasn’t much inside other than shrimp, basil, vermicelli, and shredded lettuce. The peanut sauce was tasty. We found ourselves in want of licking the bowl. But we kept our manners. The base of the chicken and shrimp was great. Tons of food. I wouldn’t order a large unless you are beside yourself with hunger. The nuc nom is suuuuuper delicious and made in house. …I’m seeing a theme with the condiments here. The chicken was almost well seasoned, but dry. The shrimp was a little overlooked but tasty. The spicy really isn’t THAT spicy. Service: great! A lot of asian places leave their customers alone. Our waiter kept up with water refills and whatnot. Ambiance: AWKWARD, and casual. There was no music, and it was pretty dead at 6 – 8 on a Friday night. The staff was having a phone conversation on the other side of the dining area. My companion and I just whispered awkwardly. Not the best dining experience. Overall: Prices are fair for hearty portions of average Viet food. I would make the trek to Saigon Café in Lancaster or to the many places in DC for better food.

Extremely poor service. I had to get up and get my own soda when we were the only table in the place. Fried spring were served cold and nasty. Phở was great. I gave this place the 2 stars for the soup. Get the service together.

I’m a huge fan of the Phở but avoid the B2… it was dry, tasteless and while the menu indicates pork meat balls it’s more like processed sausage(think Jamestown). Really… don’t do it :( Have I mentioned I LOVE the fresh sping rolls? YES… I LOVE them.

I’m no stranger to phở, and I came to this place because of its great reviews. TERRIBLE customer service. We got our food in a very timely fashion, although whatever brat relative they had«serving» us desperately needed to leave us alone. She was consistently scrutinizing us and treating us like a couple of her ill-mannered teenaged friends. At one point, she told my boyfriend that he looked impatient and that he will«order last.» At the end of the night, the food was good, but this caustic, immature child killed the experience. The owners should think twice before employing their socially inept children.

I went to Phở Bistro for my first phở experience. I thought that the food was just ok but the service was awful. My husband and I shared spring rolls and I got the shrimp phở. My broth was nearly tasteless and the shrimp was over cooked. Spring rolls were good and I really liked the peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls. We went on a Thursday night, so the place was not busy. Seemed to me that the register was completely run by 2 incompetent teenagers, one of whom did not know how to act in social situations and was making inappropriate comments about the customers, trying to pass it off as a joke. Both teenagers were fascinated by adding food coloring to milk, while neglecting their hungry customers. I felt very awkward and pretty irritated the entire time. We won’t be going back for a dine in experience anytime soon.

A small, unassuming Vietnamese restaurant that hides an amazing dining experience. Stepping inside, you’re greeted with a tables on either flank that can seat 2 – 4 people. The walls are treated wood with a golden hue and various styles of art depict Vietnamese culture. Tables are typical for smaller dining establishments and the floor is a mix of carpet and tile. The waitress was quite personable and was eager to give suggestions and insights on what the different meals and beverages were like. I personally tried the brisket and tendon phở, letter C, a perrywort drink, and tasted my food comrade’s blended durian and shrimp spring rolls. Perrywort is a member of the carrot family, so this drink does have a very faint carrot taste. The smell is vaguely of spinach and something sweet. Sipping it, it has a taste akin to green tea with notes of the aforementioned spinach and carrots and is very sweet. The blended durian did not have the awful smell that the fruit is known for and was creamy like a milkshake and tasted fruity and milky. The shrimp spring rolls were a bit disappointing as the greens packed inside the wrap with the shrimp had an off putting taste, though that may have well been the noodles inside the wrap. The accompanying sauce for dipping came with crumbled nuts on top and while I don’t know the name of it, really covered up the roll’s weird taste quite well. The phở came in a huge bowl with sides of jalapeños, limes, bean sprouts, and Thai basil. Taste your broth first before you get crazy with adding stuff. The basil is a must and the bean sprouts add a nice crunch, but the sauces, the spicy stuff, and limes can tweak it to your taste. I spiced mine up pretty strongly and dug into an amazing adventure. The brisket was well cooked and had a solid taste and the tendons had been cooked to a soft, buttery consistency that made me super happy. I don’t normally get filled up from soup and feel like I need a nap, but this phở left me full and content. The warmth and flavors just cried out to be the cure for a rainy day. Overall, the experience was great and I highly recommend stopping in at least once and giving the phở a chance because you won’t regret it.

Authentic and flavorful phở — hard to find and harder to beat! Many choices from brisket to flank to eye to tripe and tendon — get it exactly how you like it. Also ordered the crispy spring rolls and iced coffee. Great place! A must visit when in the York PA area.

First time here, second time trying Vietnamese food. I have to say I am really enjoying the experience. This place, the service was fast and the food was excellent! Again there was a nice couple that was glad to tell me what that were having and guide me to what I would like. I decided on B18, Bun Tom Xao Sa(stir fried lemongrass shrimp) medium spicy. It was so good and filling without feeling heavy. Can’t wait for the next time. Don’t let the neighborhood keep you from dinning here. Lots of people came in after I sat down, so it’s well known. Thanks Tim!
