Had the monster burrito and their Belgian tripel. Burrito was massive and quite tasty. Nothing special but a good, above average burrito. Belgian tripel was excellent.

I found Mexitaly Brick Oven Brewhouse on the corner of a strip mall back in August. Now I’ve learned not to judge the strip mall location and Mexitaly is one shining example of why. From the outside I never would have guessed what I would find behind those front doors. The brick oven was no surprise, I mean, it’s right there in the name. I knew they had beer, again, from the name. The dining room has several tables and booths as well as a bar to one side. Since I was flying solo I decided on a seat at the bar. I was greeted with warmth by the bartender Kelly who treated me(and actually mistook me) for a regular. I told her why I was there(for beer and food on my drive back home to Pittsburgh) and she was happy to entertain me. It was a Sunday afternoon and she wasn’t too busy. I ordered up a flight of 5 to get a taste for what they were brewing while I decided on food. Torn between Mexican vs Italian, I landed on the Pancetta Pepper Pizza because I thought it better to try the brick oven side of things. My flight included Timepiece Saison(not my favorite despite my usual like of saisons), Belgian Rose Ale(brewed with rose hips), Deep C Wheat IPA(wheat and IPAs together just don’t make sense to me), Roggenbock(my number one pick), and Blackberry Vanilla Stout(which made a good dessert ending to my tasting). Kelly eagerly told me about some of their other beers and I would definitely be a regular like she had hoped if I lived in York. My pizza was good but as a group of hungover college kids arrived, I wondered if I made the right choice since they all ordered burritos. Ah, there’s always next time. And always more beer to try. Despite living in Pittsburgh and only now being able to reflect on my stop at Mexitaly, I think about it often. I was taken with the name and concept at first though not sure what to expect from the brew side. Mexitaly Brick Oven and Brewhouse delivered on all counts.

Mexitally is a popular restaurant in York, PA. It has a full open kitchen and a microbrewery in the back. The feel of the restaurant is very personal. Throughout the day they have good music, and occasionally live bands come and play. Mexitally is set up so you order and sit yourself, and clear your plates when you’re done. They also have an extensive menu of a combination of Mexican and Italian based food. The food isn’t expensive, you can get a large burrito and a soda for about 10 dollars. I would give the quality of food a strong rating with the chef having his own recipes. A downside however, is when you order a pizza or stromboli it takes awhile to come out. But if you have the time, the pizza/stromboli is unbelievable. Overall, if you’re in the area for some food, you can swing by and get in and out very quick. And take out is also an option if you prefer. So apart from the wait for oven baked foods, Mexitally is a fantastic little place. I would give them 4.5 stars!

2nd time I’ve visited this brewpub. Didn’t disappoint. California steak burrito was so good, and the beers were just as good. Brought a stylin mexitaly growler home to enjoy. Can only hope to get there more often OR they open one closer to Harrisburg. Hint hint :-)

Mom: «So where did you eat?» Me: «Mexitaly» Mom: «Mexitaly? So… is that like Mexican and Italian? Me: «EXACTLY.» Two of my favorite types of cuisine, all in one location! Unfortunately being a Celiac leaves a lot to be desired at a place like this, but they had a couple Gluten Free options. I wound up choosing the(3) hard corn tortilla tacos, with the beans and rice. Beans, a bit bland. Rice, pretty good, but kinda dry. The Tacos, pretty on point. Overall, I’d give my food a 3 out of 5. However, my fiancé ordered the Italian Stromboli, and although it took almost 40 minutes for it to come out of the oven, it was fresh & amazingly delicious 5 out of 5(for sure). Honestly, if I went back I think I would rather sacrifice myself to the gluten pains I am going to feel after eating myself one of those strombolis. Apparently they have deep-fried strombolis and while I don’t think its absolutely necessary to deep fry a stromboli, they did look pretty good. Overall, I recommend the Italian side over the Mexican side of the food menu… but I will most likely be back. I’m gunning for that gluten-filled Stromboli!

Mexitaly is a great location when your friends want Italian and you want Mexican. We both ordered burritos during lunch hour at the counter. The size was so big that I could take half home for dinner with the regular size. The burritos were good, but they were not out of this world. There are many different options to choose from and the menu is really large. Next time I visit, I would try the pizza and microbrews. The atmosphere is really chill.

If you like pesto you’ll love the baked or fried pesto chicken Stromboli! I have had pesto Alfredo sauce at school and i loved it so gave this a try and loved it! I will definitely be ordering this next time! I also got the provolone sticks and they taste just like mozzarella sticks they were great! Overall a great meal for me last night and it was a good price for what you get which is quality food!

We have had three dining experiences here: the first one was delicious. Fast service, good food. Second time, takeout. Everything as ordered. Today, takeout again(we went in and ordered) — orders were wrong. I’m careful about ordering bc I don’t eat dairy or wheat, and I got cheese all over everything. My husband ordered quesadillas which had the wrong meat. Disappointing for $ 40+ meal… ***UPDATE! Management has more than made up for past missed orders; great customer service today. Yay for yummy food made the you like it!!!

This is our go-to place. It’s fresh, local and solid food. Steak tacos are great. Pizza is well-loved but pricier than the average pie. They also serve some elegant dishes you would never expect, but you can’t order it to-go. The inside has an industrial, diner/bar vibe. It’s usually packed. A little loud and crowded for an intimate date. Go to be social and drink the microbrews.

We came here a few times in the past at their old location & liked it, but we just left the place and couldn’t be more unhappy. After 45 minutes of waiting we asked what was going on, 3 small kids were starving and approaching bedtime now. They lost the ticket, it was another 10 minutes before our food came out. My fish tacos were so greasy the taco shell became saturated and fell apart– no good way to eat it. My husband’s Stromboli wasn’t good either. The pizza must not have been good since my kids love pizza and barely touched it after the first bite. Sad– it used to be a nice place.

This used to be one of my absolutely favorite spots in York. Ever since they moved and started brewing beer it’s gone down hill some. Their food is still good but not great anymore The service is mediocre at best. The cashiers are typically not very personable. At the old location my family was greeted happily and recognized as familiar faces. The ordering has also become restricted. Over all still a decent place to go, depending on your standards.

YUM. Ok I love this place, really. A few of my go to things to get I can’t get anywhere else. Try the root veggie quesadilla with grilled salmon(TODIEFOR) and the Jiamacha(think that’s the spelling– it’s a hibiscus tea). I can’t get enough. Their guacamole is whipped and a bit spicy and their food is all unique recipes so you can’t even come close somewhere else. My husband thinks their pizza is his favorite of any pizza joint, but he often gets the Mexican food because it’s so amazing too. A lot of the Mexican food has a bit of a kick– not too much but if you hate spice at all, order the Italian food– oh and don’t forget the root veggies! They also brew their own beer, and serve sample flights. We found this place by accident a few years ago and it has consistently been a 5 star always!

I love this restaurant. The in-house chorizo is some of the best I’ve ever had. My suggestions: Chorizo hard taco platter Fish or chorizo Super Tacos Fries! They’re so good Enchilada platter Any burrito I personally don’t think their pizza is amazing, but it’s good.

We were 2 of 4 people at the bar. I said hello and made eye contact with at least 3 employees walking in. We waited over 10min to get acknowledged and were told by some regulars that«there not very fast here». A guy from the food side had to serve us beer n apologized because the bartender went to the store and he didnt know it. Bartender eventually returned for 1 customer and disappeared again. Beer wise the Vanilla Bourbon Porter was there best, there XxIpa xxx didnt have any hop notes at all. FOOD. we got the personal pie with sausage… just ok not brick oven crispyness standard im used to. When food was brought no condiments, plates of any kind were offered. .no we will not return.

This place has an indoor beer garden feel. The food is really rather good. I ordered the chimichanga with beef my wife ordered the salmon enchilada. The salmon was a little dry but otherwise tasty. You have to pay extra for salsa when you order your chips but this also is tasty

It’s a restaurant with an identity crisis, but I dig it. It’s a fast-casual, Panera-style place with a craft beer component. It’s a little confusing that you pay for your meal at the counter but have to pay for your beer separately. Other than that, the food is good and the place is big, clean and pleasant.

A Food Find in York While on our way to York, PA on a Sunday for some discount shopping, we hear an ad on the radio for Mexitaly restaurant in York. We are looking for a lunch spot and hungry, so we find this place. Hidden in a strip center, tucked in behind a bank building, we go in and see generous menu selections of a crazy mix of Italian and Mexican food. We are relieved. We were glad just to get a reprieve from all of the chain restaurant food in York. We split the Big Burrito and the Spanakopita Pizza. Both selections were excellent. We want to return to try the Italian menu items served in the evening. If Mexitaly was closer to us we would go much more regularly. Mexitaly: A great choice in York for hungry people. Craft beer selections are overwhelming.

The beer was quite good and refreshing. The Rye IPA was well balanced and a pure pleasure to drink. I also had the Golden Ale that is a super easy to drink session beer. The daughter let me have a taste of the Bock and the Altbier that she had. I found them both to be dead on style and very pleasing! The owner was behind the bar and he really is a delightful person to speak with. And the head brewer Rick really did a nice job with this line up of beers. Well done guys!

Food is freaking delicious. My favorite is the veggie root burrito or the chorizo chimichanga. The sauces are great, but the guac is different what I’m used to. The staff there is really helpful and nice, even when it’s insanely busy. They deserve their tips. That said, the only problems are the rumors and interactions my family and friends have had with the owner of the establishment. From what I understand, he doesn’t treat the employees the best he could and his customer service skills are lacking. Apparently, if you don’t encounter him, you’ll have a great experience.
