My friends and I were staying in York for the weekend. Not knowing the area, we decided to try this restaurant. We loved sitting upstairs with a beautiful view. Our server Eli was so courteous and informative giving us suggestions and also explaining the specials of the day. We had the calamari, cooked to perfection and the spinach crab dip, out of this world delicious, as appetizers. We were wishing we knew the recipe to make this unbelievably great dip. Our entrees were also very good. Meat tender and fish fresh and tasty. Our whole experience from start to finish was excellent. On our way back home to LI, NY we discussed turning the car around just to eat in this wonderful restaurant! Will definitely return when we visit the area.

We returned to the Eagles Nest for another great meal. This time was with a group of 12 couples. All reported a super meal, and very good service. Did not hear one complaint from the group. I’ve dined there a half dozen or more times in the past 3 years. Always had a great meal and always ordered their prime rib. Never been disapointed. I’ll have an end piece if available. This past visit the wife had scallops and enjoyed the diner.

The waitress was awesome! Her and wife wife talked during lunch hour. It was great because I had multiple appitizers and a steak for the main course. I don’t remember the last time I went to a restaurant that cooked my steak properly! And just fyi, if you get over medium rare, you’re wrong and a horrible person!

At first glance walking in from the outside I was in awe with the view but after sitting down by the window I was even more impressed with the view. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Had the filet cooked to perfection rare of course, and the seafood casserole, and although I am lactose intolerant I enjoyed the few bites of the creamy seafood casserole as well. Salad was good. Crab bisque was superb. Prices were very modest too for this spectacular restaurant. The upstairs was closed when we got there but one of the servers was nice enough to show us the view from the top floor. Awesome service going above and beyond. I’m impressed.

Had dinner at the Eagles Nest for mothers day. The waitress was new and did not have experience. I find thst the quality of service and food is going down. I used to enjoy dinner there when it first opened, but no longer. There seems tobe a big turnover of waiting staff. I feel that the owner, no longer on premise, is letting tbe place run down. I will avoid this restaurant for the forseable future.

We held our annual customer appreciation and Christmas party in the upstairs Banquet room. As it is every year, The food, service, and quality of the entire presentation was top self. About 40 people attended and everyone was beyond pleased with every aspect of the evening. I highly recommend this restaurant for large groups and also for a nice evening out with a few friends. My wife and I had dinner here over this past weekend. Our appetizer of crab dip was nice. The Grouper and crab entrée was nicely prepared and tasty, we also had jambalaya with chicken, shrimp, and sausage which was nicely spiced and also very good. The atmosphere is pleasant. The view is nice although we were there in the evening. Our server was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed and seemed to be in the weeds the entire time we were there. We would definitely return.

Do not use this venue for special events. The staff cannot handle the workload the event Coordinator(Mary Alice) is clueless management is not in control. I wish I could give a good review for the food but with a large party everything came out average at best, and not worth the wait. A shame we were looking forward to a pleasant evening with the family. But nothing was as advertised or as promised.

I love their crab cake burger and chocolate Martinis!!! I always get this when I go there lol. The atmosphere is nice. Parking and trying to pull out of the establishment kind of sucks though but that doesn’t bother me too much!

Gorgeous view. Nice bar and staff. Liked the grouper with crab meat(special). Loved the risotto and other sides. Hated the Casserole Imperial. Lots of other options. Will give this spot another chance another time.

Teresa is so friendly and a perfect waitress. She even handle two teenage young men with us with grace! All of our food was perfect too!

They treated our wedding party’s reception dinner miserably. Slow service starved everyone for over an hour and the manager wouldn’t even consider trying to give us a discount on the wine or top to make things right. Don’t book anything important here!

On my first night in PA, I was treated to a nice dinner at The Eagles Nest. The restaurant itself is rustic and charming, with a bar, dining room and outside patio areas. Their picture windows offer pretty views of the tree-blanketed valley, which is lovely at dusk. Even on Tuesday, the parking lot was moderately full — a promising sign — and I was told it is brimming on weekends. We ordered their famous crab cakes for main(which were perfectly formed half spheres of succulent crab meat with little filler… the sign of a good cake). The portion was huge, and broiled nicely, and also came with two sides(including mixed vegetables, salad, fries, and mashed potato). The standard house salad came with a choice of dressing on the side, which was not very exciting. I enjoyed the mashed red potatoes however, which had a subtle garlic flavour, albeit not smoothly mashed. Our server was friendly and attentive, and was able to recommend US wines to pair with our meal. Overall, a yummy, substantial and filling dinner!

Pleasant views. The food is average, but for York, I’d say slightly better than average. Certainly not the best.

Excellent customer service from Bryan. Give that man a raise! He turned what was a pretty crappy day, into a good one for me. There is still great customer service out there! Great food and drinks also

Hubs and I had a lovely romantic dinner on a rainy Monday night. It was a little disconcerting to pull into the parking lot with lots of empty spaces. That is usually not a good sign. However, because there had been a huge thunderstorm in the hour before we left our house we figured they were slow because no one wants to go out in bad weather. I am so glad we didn’t chicken out! We were seated next to a wall of windows overlooking the valley and the view was spectacular as the sun set and all of the city lights came on. The room itself is filled with rustic hewn beams, warm wood and soft light. Our server came to the table quickly and but gave us time to read through the large menu to make our decisions. We had Asian spring rolls with a ginger sauce for an appetizer. They arrived hot and were really tasty even though the filling was a little sparse. My husband had the soup of the day– chicken and black bean. He loved it. I had a side salad with Greek dressing. I frequently complain when salads are served in huge chunks that need to be cut before they can be consumed and this salad was no different, but I was happy that it was served on a plate that allowed me to cut the lettuce without the other vegetables falling from the plate onto the table. For our entrees, I ordered the queen cut of prime rib, medium rare, with a crab cake add-on and hubs had the Sea Combo #2– haddock, jumbo shrimp, scallops and a crab cake. He ordered cranberry salad as a side and I had the garlic mashed potatoes. My prime rib was a little more done than I would consider medium rare but it was delicious and a nice cut that wasn’t too fatty. It was served with a little cup of au jus that was well flavored and accented the beef nicely. The mashed potatoes were a little bit gluey– standard for mash made with red skinned potatoes. They had a light garlic flavor in them that wasn’t overwhelming and just enough lumps left in them to be rustic and appetizing. My husband loved his assorted broiled seafood. The scallops were of really good quality and expertly cooked– something that is oddly difficult to do. The shrimp were huge. We both thought the crab cakes were among the best we’ve ever had– huge hunks of jumbo lump crab barely held together but broiled and nicely browned. We shared a slice of strawberry cheesecake for dessert. Our server told us the desserts are made in house. It was also very good. Throughout the meal our server(can’t remember her name!) was helpful and friendly. She replaced our beverages quickly and offered good suggestions when asked. Overall, I think we really enjoyed our meal and the view. I think next time I will try their Greek specialties like the spanakopita. Our check was lower than I expected but the menu prices are mostly in the $ 22-$ 28 range for entrees. The seafood appetizers are around $ 12-$ 14 but given the quality, location and ambiance, I think their prices are reasonable. We will back.

I had high hopes for this place. I was taking some out of town guests, hoping to have a high quality meal. I had heard the crab cakes were good. Well, the meals were mediocre at best. The service was very good. The prices that they are charging are way too high for the quality of the food. We did not order the crab cakes or the steaks. Maybe we just picked the wrong things.

Rating is for the service and quality of the drinks. Came here on a whim because I heard they have good food. Plus other Unilocalers helped cinch our decision too. By the time we arrived, the kitchen had already closed(typical York) and they were cleaning up for the evening. However we did sit down at the bar and a ordered few drinks. The Eagles Nest has some of the best drinks and cocktails that I think are served in York. Our Bartender was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and did not seem anxious to kick us out. She allowed us to finish our drinks as well as the other patrons. We will definitely be back for the food very soon.
