This store should’ve closed 10 years before it actually did. Case in point: The incredibly rude, inattentive cashier service inflicted upon me and my husband in 2000 scarred us for good: We were overcharged for 29 cans of cat food, 14 more than we actually purchased. Mind you, the cashiers weren’t exactly busy; on this Saturday night, only about five other customers were in the store itself(we were the only ones in the cashier line). Teenage cashier and teenage bagger couldn’t be bothered to look at us for a split second or to say«hello» — they scanned(mis-scanned?) our purchases while they continued to discuss their boyfriends and their recent shopping splurges. The only words Ms. Cashier told us was our total — not even a «thank you for shopping with us» or a «good-bye.» The second we unloaded our groceries at home, we checked our receipt and found that $ 7 overcharge for that fictional 29-can purchase. Pi$$ed to the gills, we drove right back to the store and spoke as politely as we could regarding the charge with Ms. Cashier. Clearly angry that we bothered to speak with her during another of her checkstand conversations and without offering a single apology, she(sort of) made good with that mistake. The manager came by; at that time, we shared our disgust with Ms. Cashier’s attitude during the initial purchase and the current issue. «We were overcharged by $ 7, and that’s not exactly a tiny amount,» we said to the manager. «No wonder you’re losing customers so quickly.» Clearly contrite, the manager apologized profusely as he handed the $ 7 to us. «I will definitely be having a word with you,» he grimly warned Ms. Cashier. Fast forward nearly 13 years: I genuinely hope that the gent managing this location in mid-2000 is now enjoying a terrific, well-paid managerial position — a reward for his battle pay with the sorry team with whom he worked. And to Ms. Cashier: Here’s hoping that in recent Christmases, she’s found a lump of coal in her stocking for that egregious anti-service.

They closed 12÷24÷11. It’s going to now be a 24hr fitness sport.

This Vons is pathetic. The produce is consistently bad and the shelves are consistently unstocked. Every time I go to this Vons, there is at least 1 thing I cannot get because they don’t have it stocked. I have stopped going and just drive the extra bit to Stater Bros.

This store is a piece of crap. It’s dirty, half empty and I really don’t understand how they are still open. Since Ralph’s stopped taking double coupons, we decided to drive an extra half mile and give this Von’s a shot. We shopped here years ago and it was a really nice store. To start with, the produce section was pitiful. There was so much empty space, we wondered if the store was closing down or something. Almost every bag of lettuce was wilted and gross looking and I only found one bag of spinach that looked slightly fresh. They had no fresh basil at all and everything else looked way past it’s prime. I got creeped out at this point and decided to get the very minimum that I needed for dinner and finish my grocery shopping somewhere else. We bought maybe 7 things and a few cases of water and proceeded to the checkout. The cashier looked like she was tweaking and spent more time yacking with the customer ahead of us than paying attention to the items she was scanning and ended up scanning half of our stuff with the other lady’s groceries. She insisted that there was no divider down on the conveyor belt but my husband AND the lady ahead of us both said there was one there(my husband put it there) but she was too busy talking to realize she had moved it and just kept scanning. It took her forever to take our items off the other person’s tab and when she called a manager over for an override key, she again said that there was no divider bar on the belt and it was not her fault. When she finally started scanning our groceries, she blamed the register for not scanning our water correctly and we waited again while she had another brain fart trying to figure it out. What should have been a 5 minute transaction ended up taking almost 15 and if that wasn’t bad enough, as we were walking out, we heard her telling someone yet again that there was no divider on the belt and it’s not her fault it looked like one order. And after all of that, we got home and noticed that the bag of spinach I searched to find ended up in the other lady’s bag. grrrr! There is no way I will ever shop at this store again.
