MDV Custom Cakes

GULP!!! Houston we have a problem, but a good one. So one day my man comes home with this perfectly wrapped set of red velvet cupcakes. Initially, I wasn’t all that impressed, just because I was of the mindset, ‘taste one, you taste them all.’ How wrong was I… and I’m not a big Red Velvet fan to begin with. Honestly and Sincerely, they were the best red velvet cupcakes I’ve tasted. The cream cheese frosting was creamy, not too sweet, and smooth. The cake was moist and flavored perfectly. I asked where did he find them and he said, «there’s a new spot on Kimball… MDV Custom Cakes.» I couldn’t believe it. Our next time out and about, we of course stop by. First off, the space is cute. There’s a waiting area with a television, the cupcakes are nicely displayed, and the store is clean. I actually feel like I’m in a cupcake salon. The women that have helped us the gazillion times we’ve been in there are so sweet and very helpful. We’ve had the cake pops, the cakes, and the cupcakes and they were all very fresh and tasty.
We placed an order for cupcakes for Thanksgiving and though they weren’t completely ready when we went to pick them up, knowing that they were baking and mixing everything fresh was worth the 15 minute wait. Our next purchase will be a custom cake.
I love the fact that it is a woman owned business in my neck of the woods who do quality work!

I decided to buy a cake living so close by for my husbands birthday. I came in 4 days before the day & Melody made MAGIC happen ! if you don’t believe me, view my picture !! Not only was it presentable but it was delicious !!! Everyone fell in love with the look & design but even more with the actual henny flavor inside the henny cake ! The order feed 20+. I could not be anymore content with this place !

I’ve ordered 2 cakes for both my children’s birthday parties, from this husband & wife baking duo! One back in Dec and one a couple of weeks ago. Let me tell you, these cakes look AMAZINGLY beautiful… BUT that’s not the best part– they taste even BETTER than they look. Usually that isn’t the case with Couture Cakes or «Fondant» cakes. These cakes are so good, I’ve found myself day dreaming about them. As a matter of fact, I just placed an order today for a regular sheet cake from MDV… I love it that much.
If you’re wondering… the first cake was red velvet w/​dulce de leche icing, and marble cupcakes w/​cookies & cream filling. The second cake order was red velvet AGAIN (best red velvet in my opinion) for tier 1, pineapple Coconut for tier 2, cupcakes were triple chocolate. ALL flavors were excellent, however there’s something about their red velvet– the best!
So glad I found them. They will be my go to for all my cake needs. Try them, you won’t regret it!

I’ve ordered and purchased 2 cakes so far from MDV Cakes, and each time the team surpassed my expectations!!! The cakes not only show their great artistry skills, they also taste great! If you’re looking for a show piece at your next event, then MDV Cakes is the way to go. Just know that you have to provide them with enough time to create your masterpiece.
