This place confused me at first because the sign doesn’t say Filipino food but African and Spanish? Nonetheless I was excited since for the first time I didn’t have to go to queens to get some goodies. I walked in and the shelves are kind of bare– they have essentials but not exactly what I wanted. Was looking for corned beef and maybe some baked goods. The freezers are stocked with longanisa, tocino, fish. Saturday’s they told me they get hot food brought in as well so I gotta stop by when I get the chance. And hopefully they stock up on what I’m looking for.

Friendly Mom and Pop Filipino shop with a cozy front seating area to enjoy their fresh baked good and coffee. Great addition to the neighborhood as there is no Asian Market for miles when you need the spices and fixings for Kaldareta, Sisig, Kare-kare, Sinigang, Dinuguan, or Pinakbet. Aisles of all manner of pancit noodles, jars and cans of soups, sauces and snacks, even rolls of scratch offs for when you’re feeling lucky. Expand your palate and try some Patis or Banana Sauce. I was jonesing for some Halo Halo and stocked up with kaong, macapuno, langka, nata de coco and kamote. Just add evaporated milk, shaved ice and ube ice cream– yum!
