Golden Day Spa

While small, it’s a nice little getaway in the middle of Yonkers Ave. The receptionists were friendly and happy to explain their services to ensure you select your preferred service correctly. My mother and I both chose deep tissue massages. (Note: they only have single rooms).
I work retail so my shoulder area is always tense. The masseuse’s hands were a great balance of firm yet soothing. She did lateral sides of the body, a focus on the back, oil & lotioning and then focused on the areas where I most needed her.
My only complaint would be that she left the room several times (at least 3) to retrieve her resources and talk with the other ladies. I like a silent uninterrupted massage as I’m sure most do and felt at the very least she should’ve apologized and excused herself particularly when the service is timed.
I’d come back for a quick in and out but it’s not my first choice for spa servicing.

I took advantage of the $ 50 spa week massage and made an appointment with golden day spa. I was very pleased with the service. I wanted to point out, after reading other reviews, that my masseuse amanda asked multiple times to make sure the pressure was good. Amanda has thumbs of steel, so I suggest her to anyone that likes a firm massage. I walked in with lots of knots in my back and left feeling loose and much better. Overall, great experience
My only complaint is that the spa had a fair amount of noise going on — doors sliding open and closed and even another patron snoring in the other room. So if you are someone that needs complete peace and quiet, this may not be the place for you. But if you just need to work out some knots and have great service, I highly suggest!

I have went to all kind of spas from High end to low-​end. There’s only about a handful I would go back to, so aside from here being a little pricey I would go back because the massage was awesome. and I was happy that it’s close to home

I’ve been to many spas from high end ones with lockers, saunas, pools, etc to hole in the wall get in and out places. This would likely be the latter. I got a deep tissue massage and facial yesterday and I don’t think I’ll be returning.
I’ll start with the facial was good. Definitely felt relaxing as I did fall asleep for one point of it. I did wish she told me what was going on my face but after I passed out it didn’t really matter.
The massage. I am currently in a lot of pain from the deep tissue massage. My upper back feels bruised. I understand a deep tissue is more intense and I did ask the massage therapist (Amanda) to go lighter several times but I’ve never experienced pain like this after a massage. I also did not feel relaxed. This is the first massage where I stayed up the entire time because I was being shaken and bent in all places. I felt as if the massage was very rushed. I’m in worst shape now than I was going into the spa.
Overall, I am not really please. I regrettably gave a generous tip which probably mislead the therapists to thinking it was great service but unfortunately I do not plan on returning.

Usually I’m very nervous to try a new place specially for wax cause my skin is VERY sensitive and if they don’t know what are they doing I end up burned with dark spots all over my legs.
Helen was great and very professional. She took her time waxing and also I end up doing a facial! She knows what she’s doing and also gave great devices of how to take care of my skin!
She was great! I definitely going back to try out other services they provided.
The down side is to find parking or pay the meter!
Another thing, when she was providing me the service I wanted, she had to leave the room a few time or pic up the phone. Kind of annoying.
They should have one person only to answer phone and stay in the front.

I’ve found a gem close to home! I work in Manhattan, where there are so many beautiful spas with a lot to offer but they are incredibly $$$ unless you use a deal which is so unpredictable. Also, I just find it’s so much more relaxing to get a treatment and not have a long commute home. I was in desperate need of a massage and I happened upon Golden Day Spa, one of the few spas in the area that was open on a Sunday. I arrived with no appointment and Helen happily told me she would fit me in.
Although there aren’t a lot of frills (no sauna, no steam room) I loved the atmosphere of the rooms and the thoughtful menu of services so I UPGRADED. I got a 60 min deep tissue, foot reflexology, Cranial and ear candling. I received a stellar massage and chatted with the playful and kind-​hearted Helen throughout my services. She is both considerate and incredibly knowledgeable. You can tell she’s been doing this for a very long time. My money was well spent! It was a very relaxing and affordable spa day. Just what I needed. I also have to mention, I loved how clean and well decorated the rooms were. I’ll definitely be coming back regularly.

Got a Brazilian wax here today at the very reasonable price of $ 50. They use soft wax and strips so I would advise taking Advil beforehand, but my aesthetician was quite fast and very thorough, which included tweezing any stray hairs after waxing. I don’t live in the area but if I did I would definitely be coming here regularly for a clean and thorough wax at a great value.

I booked a massage at Golden Day Spa for Spa week since my regular spa was not participating.
I was thoroughly surprised! I’m so accustomed to being in a «spa» atmosphere like my regular spa (white robes, lemon water, sauna, etc), I was anticipating that I wouldn’t be pleased with my massage but to my surprised it was just the opposite.
While the place is small it’s very clean and quiet. My massage was just the way that I liked it — a firm touch deep into the tissue — it was wonderful.
I was even offered to buy a massage for use at another time for the price of the Spa Week special ($ 50) which was very nice.
The only downside is that there is only metered parking in the area — so you feel rushed to get back to your car before the meter expires and you get a ticket!
I can’t wait until the next spa week and if for some reason my regular spa is not participating I will definitely go back to Golden Day Spa.

I am a trained massage therapist, so I am picky. This massage was absolutely what I needed. The therapist I saw was excellent, she knew how much pressure I needed, and what areas really needed to be taken care of. I very, very rarely get a massage, but I will absolutely be back. It was wonderful.
