I live in this neighborhood and decided to give Café Hudson a try. I am not a fan of Dolphin or it’s management/owners but I said to myself, hey I’ll give it another shot. Sat outside over the holiday weekend. I don’t think they were prepared to be busy since there was only one server working. She was pleasant and did her job. There was a busboy(?) or someone else helping her out since she was alone, his name was Ezequiel(sp?) he brought out our food order which was a chicken quesadilla and a salad. The quesadilla came with sour cream and guacamole. I asked him if he could bring out some salsa for the quesadilla and his answer was«this isn’t a Mexican restaurant.» A simple, «I’m sorry, we do not have salsa» would have worked just fine. He was rude and arrogant. Tip to you Ezequiel, you do not have to be a Mexican restaurant to serve salsa. You are aware that your menu has quesadillas and nachos, no? I would never let someone like that speak to my guests. Take him off of the serving floor if you want good reviews and your guests to return.

Three stars because of the huge outdoor patio on the water! Great place to meet up with people and hang out on the pier. Seasonal-not open in winter. Good for drinks. They don’t really have a menu. Lots of people have cocktails here before dinner at the adjacent, sister restaurant Dolphin. Loudspeakers & string lights outside keep it festive!

Now I don’t get down to Yonkers too often, especially not South Yonkers. The drive through the surrounding neighborhoods was not that great but once we got underneath the train tracks it was like a whole new city… amazing job they have done down here. We sat outside, was a beautiful night and had some great drinks. The menu looked good but we didn’t eat because we actually had a great meal next door at Dolphin their sister restaurant(will review them separately) before we stopped over for some drinks and to take in the amazing views. You look one way you got the Tappan Zee, look the other way and you have the GW and all in between the palisades. Was a good mixed crowd… pretty busy and overall enjoying besides the occasional pant-sagger walking by lol.

If you live in Yonkers this area is the best hang out chill spot, period. After work take the Metro North 22 minutes to Yonkers and enjoy a breath taking view and a perfect river front atmosphere. Ask for Dean, he’s the best and if your feeling adventuresome, ask Dean for a drink called Andy’s Candy. Strong and delicious.

One of the nicest place to hangout especially on a cool breezy nite overlooking the Hudson with their outdoor seating. Good drinks but not a lot of food. Their menu is worry some. Because people just don’t drink they’re supposed to eat as well. Well, I came with a group so we had fun. That’s it. I Enjoyed the moment coming after a tiring 13H shift. But we ended up going somewhere for more drinks and food. A bit pricey for Yonkers though. Our server was ok. Parking is not a problem. Well, still one of the nicest place in the trendy part of Yonkers to hang out with Friends.

It’s a local spot right by the water, that’s the only reason why I’ll give it a star. The service is horrible! A group of us(about 15 people) came to celebrate a birthday, decided to go there for drinks. We brought along a cake for the birthday girl. We were told we could not cut the cake & if we did it would cost us $ 2 a plate. We brought our own utensils, unlike other places(in white plains) that kindly provide us with their own plates & cut the cake for us without having to ask or beg(we weren’t asking for them to do that). The place was basically empty. A small group of 3 that sat next to us were enjoying McDonald’s fries instead of ordering from the menu(that should say ALOT). Not sure this group of brothers(the owners) really need the business for they weren’t pleasant. Definitely not going back.

Hubby, my son and I came here on a late night. I had a voucher for some small plates and drinks. We tried one of their signature drinks and it was good. Tasty and strong at the same time without being overbearing. We shared the Chicken Quesadilla as our starter and it was okay. The chicken pieces were really small and you couldn’t really taste the chicken at all. When I finally found a piece, it was kind of dry and not flavorful. Now I know what you’re thinking. Why did I give 4 stars? Well, Café Hudson serves mainly sandwiches and they were ALL really good. I had the California Turkey, with Avocado, Brie and Ranch Dressing. I was expecting carver turkey and although it was the cold-cut kind, it was SO good and flavorful. It is served warm in a panini-style and it worked. Hubby had the Chicken Parm. It was lightly Breaded Chicken Breast and some awesome Marinara Sauce with Mozz on a small hero. It tasted great and it came with Ruffles Chips. My son have the Cuban sandwich and it was also served panini-style. Warm and tasty(according to my boy). The other reason I gave this place 4 starts is because of the service. Madeline was a server and she was so nice and attentive. I mean, it was pretty late on a weeknight and the place wasn’t exactly jumping with customers but we were still treated like we mattered. I have dined in other establishments that have been empty and the staff acts as though you’re almost ruining their night by coming and making them ‘work”. Not Madeline, or her coworkers. Everyone was really nice and were watching the Yankees on screen while we ate dinner. Madeline also took the time to thank us for stopping by, to;d us about what specials they offer during the week and their special night and she was just really, really nice. it was refreshing to have someone just be nice because they are. Café Hudson isn’t for fine dining and they don’t try to come off that way. They have a really nice view of the Hudson, big TV screens and about the best bar drinks you’ll find in that little area of restaurants.

Great summer spot right next to Dolphin, I think they’re owned by the same people. My wife and I come out a few times a year when we’re visiting family!

I love coming here on a nice summer evening. The view of the waterfront and Manhattan is like no other. Lounge chairs back right up to the Hudson– you can’t get any closer. If you are a cocktail drinker I highly recommend trying one of the Cafes specialty drinks. The Café is a great place to grab a quick, light bite to eat. Very casual and laid-back. Great panni’s and appetizers. The bar tender is a fine, young, gentleman and I will definitely be back for more!

Yonkers has been trying to change its image to something more trendy for years. Especially downtown. Café Hudson does not help. This place insists upon itself and the staff is several levels below sub par. The food tastes like it was made in the back of a bodega and the décor is average at best. I’ll pass…

For what it is, Café Hudson is terrific! So what is it? Café Hudson is a reasonably priced, upscale feeling, cozy, café/bar/lounge/restaurant right on the water near the Yonkers Pier. It sits on a beautiful, year-round, spot right by the Hudson River in Yonkers’ Gold Coast looking across at the Palisades. On a clear day you can see the George Washington Bridge. In the Fall, the view of the leaves turning on the Palisades alone is worth a seat. Every day, you can relax and see boats, tankers, and tugs going up and down the river. If you are lucky, you’ll see a ship like the Clearwater. I’m very biased and partial to the view, as it is the same view I see out my windows every day. On this day, I took one of my daughters(6 yrs old), and she had a great time. We had a choice of sitting outside, or inside, and so we chose inside. The fetching server, named Madelyn, was very gregarious, engaging, and attentive to both my daughter and I. The beverages were great(she put extra cherries in my daughter’s Shirley Temple), and since we were there during the October 50% off food special, we tried quite a few things. We had Guacamole & Chips which seemed to be created with care, Philly Cheese Steak, Potato Salad, and Chicken Cutlet Paninis. The food tasted great, and was a decent enough sized portion that we took some home. I can’t wait to go back and try some other offerings. All the staff was friendly and attentive. Everything was very clean and polished. The TV’s were placed strategically, and so I was able to get some sports highlights, while I caught a nice breeze off the Hudson and the view I love. The place is family friendly, but I look forward to going again without my kids to watch some football on Sunday(with Drink Specials!), or on Karaōke night. It is a good meet up spot, especially for friends coming up from NYC, as parking is plentiful, and it is right by the Yonker’s Metro North train station. In summary: Amazing location, upscale service, friendly and diligent staff, comfortable, clean and friendly setting, fair prices, and most importantly, well-prepared, tasty and affordable food.

views are excellent, prices are not. too pricey for the amount of food given. Beers are cold and the outdoor seating is awesome. Not much to say, just simple and pricey for Downtown Yonkers

We actually came to the Dolphin for a late lunch on the Hudson @ 3:45 and was seated outside. Over 20 minutes later a waitress finally showed up with a dinner menu. when we asked for the lunch menu we were told it ended @ 4. We were told we could move around the corner to Café Hudson, it was owned by the same people and they served sandwiches. We did. Big mistake. Food and drinks were very slow from the kitchen and bar. My dry martini with olives was served with vanilla vodka, my sandwich tasteless and when my wife’s Chef Salad finally was served it was a bowl of lettuce with 1 halved grape tomato, a piece of ham, one of salami and one piece of turkey. That’s it. The waitress took it back into the kitchen and finished its proper preparation. She joke,“It needed a women’s touch”. Tables around us were sending food back also. Beautiful view, but this restaurant almost ruined a beautiful afternoon.
