Yellow Springs Country B & B

We arrived to find the whole place locked up. I had to call the owner and have him tell me where to find a key so we could let ourselves in. The only thing in the way of breakfast was coffee. They did offer gift certificates for a local restaurant. This place really takes the «breakfast» out of «bed and breakfast». The shower was basically impossible to work, so you may need to settle for baths. No television, either. The owner’s granddaughter runs the place, but neither of them seem to be here much. It’s for sale, so maybe they just don’t care much about it any more. It is a nice place, though. Worthy of more attentive owners.

Absolutely love this place. Very quiet and cozy. Great working gas fireplaces and comfy beds. Would definitely come back. Only spoke to owner on the phone and he seems very nice and accommodating.

A great secret hence the lack of reviews. This B&B opens its doors only on Tuesdays for breakfast. There is a buffet table much like you would see at Grandmas house with fresh baked muffins, coffee cakes, berry crisps, quish, fruit and more. You can take what you want to nibble on while you order your breakfast. There are no menus, like at Grandma’s and you order whatever. They make just about everything. There are multiple tables and rooms to sit in and you will likely share your table with the locals that frequent here. When chilly, be sure to grab a seat near one of the fireplaces. When you are done dining you pay on your way out the door. There are no prices. You pay what whatever you feel like paying. Again, this is a great little secret that one should visit if in the area.

Built on 1826 and lovingly restored. A beautiful spot in the cornfields, but the best part is the way that Margaret, the host, and Nora, the chef, take great care of you and leave you alone to enjoy the solitude.
No wifi, no TV, but a beautiful place with incredible breakfasts. We will be back.
