The deli is fantastic for lunch, they have panini sandwiches and lots of side items to chose from. The problem comes in when its a large lunch crowd and the register staff are completely unaware that anyone is in a hurry or that people are lining up to check out. One person on the register waited for 5 people to line up by her register before asking for help. I think being ready for a lunch rush and being prepared to check people out would be smart on their part. All in all the food is good just don’t expect a lot of deals as this is a local grocer.

I go to yellow springs often for various reasons. I’m glad tom’s exists b/c I frequently can’t bypass going to krogers in favor of toms(I love convienience). The set up reminds me more of an old school grocery(think Fulmers or IGA). There aren’t many frills, but there is organic produce and anything else you might need to pick up in a pinch.

I like this grocery store. The deli has good food. They usually have anything I need for nice meals and last minute items. The people who work here are nice. If they don’t have something you would like them to carry you can ask them about it or who to talk to. This is how they know what to keep. Wish I could solely shop here for all my groceries.

Small, locally owned store like most businesses in Yellow Springs. Despite the size, the store packs in a large selection of organic and specialty products. I used to live in Yellow Springs and visit frequently. Now I am only back on rare occassions. Over the years the produce section has increased in size and the meat department has shrank a little as customers are turning more toward healthier products. I was impressed to see a large selection of Indian naan. The management takes time to listen to the customers and is not afraid to order products on a trial basis to see if they sell. In doing so, the store not only meets the needs of the customer, but also may discover good sales from unexpected products. This store has been a staple of Yellow Springs since the 1950’s and has always been at the forefront of new, healthy products. If you want fresh products and better customer service than a larger grocer, stop by Tom’s Market.

An excellent locally owned small town grocer. Very small if you are use to mega-stores like Kroger. Focuses mainly on delivering standard grocery items at prices that are competitive as possible with Kroger. They manage to have the same or similar prices on many items. They even have deli specials that are sometimes cheaper. Some organics and specialty items, very good produce section for a store of its size. Parking lot always has spaces. Very friendly staff. No alcohol.
