The food is overpriced, and it’s not all that maybe to people who haven’t really had Jamaican food before. But to me it’s not, I rather go to one of those smaller shops with two people working inside. The plantain is soft and mushy they cook it way too ripe, you can’t even pick it up with your hands with out it falling apart. I guess people who can’t chew like their plantain like that idk. The menu is misleading, the have things on the menu that they don’t sell, like buffalo wings and red peas soup. There’s always bun bun in the rice, how you gonna charge so much for food and give people the bottom of the rice to eat? So rude. The Shrimp platter only comes with 4 jumbo shrimp and for $ 16.25 it’s not worth it. At the seafood restaurant you can get a shrimp platter for $ 10 and get 6 jumbo shrimp, so do better. The place looks nice I’ll give them that, however every time I went whether alone or with a friend there was always a new staff member, which tells me they have a high employee turn over which means management doesn’t know how to treat their staff because for such a small business place keeping staff shouldn’t be so hard. Unless you’re not treating them right. Because I’m pretty sure not all of them got fired smdh. I met the manager once, he seems cheesy and condescending. The overall customer service was good though, even tho every time I went it was someone new. Except for about one girl, I gave it one star because the other all business deserves just that. The food is overpriced and not worth the cost. The staff is ever changing which says something about the ownership. The menu can use some revamping, it’s not fully a Jamaican restaurant because Mac n cheese isn’t big amongst us Jamaicans.

I’m hooked on the jerk chicken… Portions are scary big, but everything is really good. Haven’t found anything I don’t like on the menu yet.

This is that restaurant u will go to for the first time and like but after a while you will get tired of it I live in the area so this WAS my go to spot up until yesterday I had it with the rude lady in the front taking the orders she makes up her own rules and has a bad attitude. As far as food goes it’s good but not the best. I didn’t mind spending money for their over priced platters but after this girls rudeness I’d rather go out of my way where the service is decent. It’s just not how u run a business when we spend our money we should be able to have options

Ordered the jerk salmon. Tastes great and the side portions are generous. Will defiantly order again. Delivery was a bit pricey but well worth it.

I decided to try this place because It’s just a few blocks from where I live and I didn’t feel like driving to my normal place Little Delicious. I ordered the oxtail platter with rice and beans and cabbage. Ok here we go, the oxtails were small thin pieces around the size of a quarter. I asked the lady that took my payment if that’s how they are, because when I usually get oxtail they’re big meaty pieces, or is that the end of that pan. She didn’t answer me, just gave me a look like I was inconveniencing her by asking. She whispered something to the girl working there. The girl goes in the back, comes out with a new pan and tells me the lady will make my platter. She gave me a few larger, still very thin pieces. The so called rice and beans was brown rice with 2 kidney beans and 3 Lima beans. The plantains were very mushy, I’m used to them being a little firm and the cabbage didn’t have any seasoning. The food was just ok and definitely not worth the $ 15 I paid for it. I’ll continue to go to my regular spot for Caribbean food and I will NEVER come here again. Between the bad attitude of who I’m assuming is one of the owners, and the mediocre food it’s just not worth it to me.

We got a variety of delicious food from Coconut breeze yesterday. Everything was flavorful and nicely spiced. The restaurant is very casual. The woman who took my order over the phone could have been more friendly but the owner was personable. I would definitely recommend!

The food is good improved since the opening when I found the food salty. They make some of the best cabbage I’ve ever had as well as curry goat. The staff was young but polite and efficient the moved along quickly. I would like to suggest the work on improving the macaroni and cheese.

One of those late night grab and go! Just came from the movies and my boy was telling me he found a Jamican restaurant that some great oxtails! The oxtails where great and plenty of them, cabbage was season and not undercooked but the Mac n cheese needs a little work but not bad at all! The 2 young ladies working were pleasant.

Ok, I have been here roughly 3 or 4 times within thr last year or so. Parking has never really been an issue for me, i usually find spots right in front. My wait is never super long. I will say they may be a tad over priced. Being half Jamaica, and growing up eating authentic Jamaican food, I am a tough critic. I like and appreciate the homemade juices, especially the pineapple lemonade. I love that it has ginger in it. I love ANYTHING with gjnger in it. The stew chicken… was different than any other stew chicken I’ve ever had. But, not in a bad way. It had a reddish coloring to it, and was a little sweet. Never had any that tasted like that before. I liked it, it was different. The macaroni and cheese… ehhh, it lacks flavor for my taste. Like I said, I am a tough critic. Firstly, jerk chicken is my FAVORITE meal. The taste of the chicken is good, but i prefer my jerk chicken to be dry. It was a little too moist for me. Maybe could have been cooked more. None of the above would stop me from returning, so I will be back.

the food is crazy good. crazy hearty and they are always busy. the ONLY thing i didn’t like about this place is the parking. i still gave them 5 stars because they didn’t build the roads. there is no free parking near by and the tow trucks are around. as for the food… go try it yourself.

I like that they have a website for the menu and accept credit cards(for a 75 cent surcharge). I ordered over the phone and was confused when she asked«what side do you want more of?» Uhhh the yams I guess? What’s more popular? «Everything is popular» um ok. She then informed me it doesn’t come with ANY rice and it was and extra $ 3 – 4. Huh? What Caribbean spot doesn’t automatically come with rice?!! I passed on the rice bc I was craving the collards and yams. Got home, I was VERYPLEASED… with the packaging. Most spots give you the Styrofoam that leaks EVERYWHERE. As I open it. I’m instantly confused. Why the heck is the largest portion the yams and the 2 small sides collards and curry chicken with huge bones so I know it’s not much chicken, where is the yellow chicken?, where is the sauce?! I waited all week for curry chicken and THIS is what I get?!(Ughk) TASTE: it was cool, not nasty but I could’ve made this myself. I hate liquid mashed yams, my curry flavored chicken was good, moist, tons of bones, collards, lots of ribs, sure it’s out of a can, OK flavor. Overall, I would only come back if someone offered it for free. Little Delicious, Top Taste, Bad Habit etc… much better, Better portioned and about the same price($ 12)

I’ve had their shrimp(can’t recall which flavor) bbq chicken and brown stew chicken. The sides I’ve tried were the yams, rice and peas and cabbage. Everything is satisfactory to me. Their service is very professional. They take credit cards which is amazing for a Caribbean restaurant. The restaurant is clean. Delivery is always on time. I can’t say that I absolutely love the overall experience. Dare I say that they’re too neat? Lol. I’m used to going to a Jamaican restaurant and everything being combined almost in a pile in a styrofoam platter but Coconut Breeze is a cut above with their plastic reusable containers and they perfectly place the portions in each section. Sometimes I wish they would accidentally place an extra piece of chicken in the rice side of the container lol. But overall I’m satisfied with their service. Keep it up guys!

I placed an online order from Coconut Breeze last night for delivery. I received an email confirmation and a phone call confirming a sauce preference and assured that my food will be on it’s way. Shortly after that, my food arrived. Upon delivery, the driver introduced himself to me as Fitzpatrick the owner. He then asked me what I thought of the online system since they had just recently launched it. I appreciated his introduction and inquiry about the system. I have a special place in my heart for owners/bosses who work the front lines whether it be customer service or delivery(or both). As for the food, we ordered the Jerk Chicken with cabbage and rice, and Oxtail with plantains and cornbread. The food overall was good. I especially liked my rice, it had a nice spicy kick to it. Also the plantains were nicely cooked, not too greasy and big plump pieces. I will definitely be ordering from here again. Living in W. Philly/U. City, I“m surrounded by many great ethnic restaurants but the Jamaican/Caribbean scene is a bit lacking, much less one with such good service.

This place is the best! I’ve been hooked since my first order of goat curry. Currently eating through the menu and I haven’t been disappointed once. The sides are all delicious — try the candied yams — and you get sooo much food for the price.

Beware ! They WILL serve you unripe plantain and say they don’t pay ripeness any mind. They served me dry rice after i specifically asked for jerk sauce on my rice. All this dry rice ?! Bruh ! Also, the girl who took my call must have been hard of hearing because she forgot to remember my sauce and spelled my name completely wrong… And i spent $ 30 on a weak a** meal. Screw them.

Got a flier in my mail slot and wanted to revisit our amazing honeymoon to Duncans Bay, Jamaica… Plus my husband is a Southerner and Jamaican food is a great twist on his staples. So, we went all in on a Friday and got their Pea Stew, Jerk Chicken extra spicy, and Oxtail Stew. For sides, we got mac n chee, cabbage and carrots, candied yams, fried plantains, greens, and the beans and rice. Here’s our analysis: MAINS – Pea Stew — Hubs thought it was full flavored although I thought there was a smidge too much salt. Still, a very good bean and meat stew, with lovely dumplings. Not a rainbow of flavors but comforting and filling. Jerk Chicken(extra spicy) — Kapow! A new favorite. I’d like to give thanks to the other Unilocal review that recommended getting extra spicy, because you get a ton of that kick and spices. Chicken was moist and well cooked. Dang, dang, dang. Oxtail Stew — Really flavorful. Dark and rich, the way you want it to be. Meat falling off the bone before we snatched ‘em up. I’d love to see a veggie or two thrown in, but I always like to see one or two in there. Maybe mushroom, carrot, and celery? Just to sop up the delicious sauce some more! SIDES – Mac n chee — It isn’t dry, which is impressive for baked mac n chee, but I found it incredibly buttery. Too buttery for me. Cabbage and carrots — Good. Still a bit crunchy. One flavor but a good one. Candied yams — Awesome. Super tasty. Will order every time. Friend Plantains — Prefer the candied yams(which aren’t fried and a healthier veg). Greens — Cooked to a good amount of tenderness, but a little boring. At least compared to what the Hubs makes. Could use a bit of vinegar for my palate. Beans and rice — Spicy, and flavorful, and rich, and heck yes. But seriously, we got some real spice on ours. So be wary if you’re looking for a starch to sop up the meat. This ain’t it. THIS is a star all on its own. Coconut Breeze will definitely be a entered into my contact list. Looking forward to trying other things like the curry chicken and mashed potatoes!

I’ve tried this place twice and wasn’t satisfied however, decided not to write a review until now. The first time I tried the stew chicken with rice and peas, plantain and a beef patty. I thought the stew chicken was just ok, rice and peas a little spicy. I would’ve preferred some oxtail gravy on it. The plantain wasn’t as tender or sweet as I would’ve liked. The beef patty was amazing. A little spicy not overwhelmingly spicy and baked to perfection. Second time I decided to get delivery. I ordered the jerk salmon with rice and peas, mac and cheese and a beef patty of course. Forty five mins later the food arrived. The salmon was a very nice thick piece however the jerk was extremely too spicy for me. The jerk seasoning was also all over my rice without my request. After two bites of the rice I was very upset I couldn’t enjoy my meal due to the spiciness. The mac and cheese was tasteless I’ve had better kraft boxes smh. I couldn’t take it anymore I felt robbed. I got in my car and drove to the restaurant. I explained the situation to the owner; He was nice and told me they generally add the sauce to your rice. He offered me an entire new meal. I just asked he replace the rice and peas and add oxtail gravy this time and I’d keep the salmon. Considering, I did order the salmon I didn’t want it to be a total waste. Tonight was the final chance. I ordered the stew beef with white rice and broccoli and again a beef patty. I was unsatisfied yet again. The white rice was a better choice for me than rice and peas. The broccoli wasn’t bad. Now, this stew beef honey. It was unbelievably dry and chewy just terrible. I enjoyed my rice, broccoli and beef patty. Needless to say I couldn’t consume the stew beef. I really wish I’d spent my 16 dollars on something more enjoyable. I give them two stars for delivering and taking debit, and another star for the manager’s customer service. Unfortunately I will not be returning
