I have to say we have driven by this place many many times and I really wish we had tried it sooner! If you think the location means you’re in for a hole in the wall you are wrong. We walked in and were impressed by the space. It’s small but cozy, with a nice bar to the left of the entrance and dining area to the right. We ate at the bar and had very attentive, friendly service throughout the meal. I ordered the sweet potato risotto, which was delicious — well-cooked, good flavor, and a good portion size. My wife had the salmon dish, which was cooked perfectly according to her and accompanied by cauliflower and basmati rice. I tried the sides and thought they were delicious, sauteed with a little bit of pesto. For drinks, I had the black lemonade(tasty) and a Sapporo(this is on tap! unbelievable), while my wife opted for her favorite(Tito’s, club soda and two limes), which she said came out perfectly. Overall, this was a nice excursion for us and we will be back soon for sure. I understand the ownership changed somewhat recently and the current owner is super friendly and accommodating. If you are in the Falmouth/Yarmouth/Freeport area be sure to give it a try!

Love it here for dinner and today was second time for Sunday brunch — excellent! I love going out to breakfast and have been to a lot of places in Portland, South Portland and Yarmouth, and I think the omelettes here are the BEST!

What a good find on route 1. We were needing a mid afternoon snack and stopped in after finding this place on Unilocal. We shared the calamari and the soup special. It has a modern and rustic vibe with lots of wood. Nice bar. It’s pretty quiet and has a bit of space with lots of booths. The music was old jazz and blues which wa very nice. The service was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely be interested in returning.

Had the meatloaf with mushroom gravy, which was served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was delicious and the serving was huge, especially for the price. I was only able to finish half. I had the egg nog crème brûlée for dessert and it was even better than dinner. Again, a large serving and I could only eat half. I didn’t have a drink and my bill came to $ 23, which seemed very fair for good, quality food in abundance. This place would be a repeat if I lived around here.

Met a friend for dinner and ordered the mushroom risotto and it was so good, so good, so good! The staff here was so friendly and accommodating and I would highly recommend anyone thinking about stopping by for dinner to not hesitate because you would not be disappointed. We had a desert that had chocolate whipped cream ice cream & a waffle of some type… it was to die for!

We had been twice over the summer knowing it was under new management and thought the food and service was great. It was clearly going to be one of our favorite go to restaurants. So, we decided to take our son and his girlfriend out to dinner, and what a disappointment! Maybe they were having a bad night. Maybe the chef walked out. Maybe the wait staff walked out. Our one excellent item they served was the french fries(the best part of dinner) and they were served first, like when maybe bread would have been served? My salad came out with my dinner when my son ate his alone. My Asian salad was just cut up iceberg lettuce with a hand full of cashews, fried noodles and mandarin oranges on top that was very uninspired. My sons French Dip sandwich was soggy and the dip was tasteless. The muscles were boiled to death and bathed in buttery salt water that was tasteless too. It really seemed like something had happened in the kitchen, but no apologies were made to explain our lousy experience. The wine was very good however, and the bar tender served it up in a very professional way.

Nice little bistro/bar spot on route one in Yarmouth. My review is lunchtime. Nice clean interior with a large bar and plenty of table seating. The lunch menu was very varied, with pub food, salads, burgers, and lunch entrees. The service was very good and the atmosphere decent. The menu was traditional pub based… something for everyone. I had a Caesar salad, with white anchovies, and grilled shrimp. It was very well done, the white anchovies being a very nice add, that you don’t see often. There were six medium grilled shrimp, which I felt was bountiful for the $ 13 price. My client equally enjoyed his meal. There were twin lobster rolls and twin shrimp rolls also as specials, which seemed reasonably priced without seeing the end product. All in all, an enjoyable spot, that I wouldn’t hesitate to come back to for a dinner try. 4 stars… recommend

Went with my friend for lunch last week. What a wonderful surprise at the changes with the new owners. Great atmosphere and service! Best thing was they had everything we wanted to order and it was made to perfection!!! We ordered the 2 lobster rolls and 2 shrimp rolls. Each plate came with really great fries and coleslaw that was maybe some of the best I have ever had in my life. Truly I have never had seafood cooked like this. 5 stars plus!!! I look forward to returning again with more friends and family. Great job staff and new owners. Wishing you continued success, you deserve all good things coming your way with amazing food like this.

Atmosphere: This is a nice little bar/restaurant; nicely done and clean. Not particularly noisy. Menu: Very good menu with something for everyone. Seafood, steak, pasta, salads, meatloaf, hamburger, etc. Beer prices: Draft between $ 5 and $ 7, about normal for restaurants in this area. Food prices: The food prices are about average for a decent restaurant. This is not a real fancy place but not super casual either. Server: Our server was friendly and helpful. She seemed efficient and was available as needed but not intrusive. Food: The food was very good, some of the best we have had on this trip(over a month so far). We both ate something not on most menus, chicken cordon blue and french dip panini and both were great. Overall a very nice place and if we lived in the area would be a favorite.

Just stopped here for lunch on our way north. No regrets. We ordered chowder, burgers, fries, and Reuben, pulled pork, and turkey cobb sandwiches, and everything was delicious. This is high praise, because we are California foodies and not easy to please!

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch on our drive up to Bangor. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, nor from the inside. But the food was exceptional and the service very good. My wife had a reuben, which she said was one of the best she had ever had. Lots of lean corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, and dressing on thick slabs of homemade marble rye toast. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was served on a brioche bun open faced, with lots of pork plus lettuce, tomato, onions and pickle. The sauce was not as tangy as I like and the meat was so hot I wondered if it had possibly been microwaved, but it was tender and tasty. Both sandwiches were served with«hand cut» french fries that were done just right and lightly seasoned. I’d definitely return the next time I was through the area.

A group of us had dinner there last night and found it to be a very unrewarding experience. The waiter was friendly and helpful, but the food was quite disappointing. The bread was quite good, but the chicken cordon bleu that I ordered was dreadful, as were the mashed potatoes that came with it. My wife ordered French Onion soup that was overloaded with pepper and another undetermined spice that made it taste like spicy hot rye. Very bizarre and inedible. Another diner with us ordered Chicken Marsala that was also overcooked and dry. This is not a terribly expensive restaurant, but it is one that should be avoided.

I recently moved back to the area and stopped in here for dinner last night with my boyfriend on a whim. I’d been here a few years back when it was Grill 233, and was less than impressed, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The food was great– everything we ordered was tasty and came in decent sized portions(French onion soup, Italian cheese fries, mushroom ravioli dinner with ribs [special], chicken cordon bleu with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach, brownie pecan parfait with sea salt gelato(amazing!), and root beer float. It also came out quickly and was nice and hot. The waitstaff was friendly and very attentive. Though we weren’t really sure what they were going for with the décor the meal and service were awesome and we plan on returning to Grill 233 sometime soon, maybe for brunch today!

Excellent under the new management. Don’t miss the calamari grilled romaine appetizer, the ravioli dishes, and if your in the mood for fried fish or seafood — crispy and fresh. Attentive wait staff and great bar make this a great choice for dinner!

Love this place! The staff is friendly and inviting and the fries are to die for. I’ve never had a bad meal here and look forward to working my through the rest of the menu. I haven’t had the chance to get there for brunch yet(something I’ll have to rectify soon) but have heard good things about it.

We’ve gone here several times and with all times but once it has been great. The one time, however, horrible. But I think that was due to ownership changing hands and staffing. That was awhile ago. Since then, there’s been a significant change in food quality and service. The truffle fries are awesome as well as the Bistro burger. The bar is small… more like a waiting area. Which is good, because sometimes you do have to wait because the place is packed. And that’s a good sign too.

Stopped in while road-tripping in Maine. Awesome duck salad. Incredible truffle fries. Gotta have the clam chowder. Please say hi to Sam the bartender. He was a sweetheart. They do a «blue blanc» which is blueberry champagne, of course it’s blue, but nice and dry. I would eat here every week if I lived here. Yum!
