It’s time I come forward and get the word out there. I spent four long years swimming within these four walls for school swim. It took years off of my life. Lions Pool’s daily use of chlorine rivals that which the Nazi’s used on a daily basis in WWII. During the cold months, the ventilation is nonexistent and the poisons have nowhere to go but your lungs. The establishment is rancid and time for a remodel. The city of Yakima should make some improvements. Great life guards and management. Just a poor facility. Really sad.

The actual activity of swimming here is always a ton of fun. I bring my 3 year old and he always has a blast. My boyfriend loves jumping off the high dive board. But unfortiently that’s where my experience stops being fun. I always have rude people in the locker room, on one instance I was bullied out of getting to shower with my son by an older woman for the 4:45 swim because she refused to share any of the showers. While on the other hand, one of the other woman from that swim on another date insisted on sharing my sons shower with him even though all others were open which weirded me out. But I understand the staff can’t do much about that. What they can control is their life gaurds. On one instance my son and I were waiting for my boyfriend to finish showering, 3 of the life gaurds started making sexual jokes very loudly while they were hooking the lane ropes in. «getting it in» jokes are not things I want my little one to hear. I hope with more visits I can enjoy it more and rate this higher.
