My husband and I both ordered all you can eat salad bar and didn’t even finish our one trip. No cheeses, no fresh veggies other than weird pickled pre made stuff and not a large array of toppings. He had a steak sandwich and I had nachos. His bread was almost rock hard as it had been overlooked and my nachos were a soggy mess. The fresh bread was the best part of the meal. We picked this hotel for our trip as the restaurant was supposed to be amazing and it was disappointing

We were staying there and I went downstairs and placed a to go order at the front desk of the restaurant. We ordered the Captain’s Platter for $ 24; when I picked it up I was charged an automatic 15% gratuity and expected to carry the heavy tray upstairs. The meal was 2 small scallops, an inedible fried clam, a cup and a half of rice with a few veggies, one shrimp, and a 4″ by 4″ piece of salmon. Not worth it at all.

The salad bar is outdated with no fresh peppers, cucumber etc not mixed in high caloric unneeded sauces. But the steak is to die for. Perfectly cooked. The breads are yummy. The flourless chocolate tart is so yummy… and hubby loved his lemon marange pie… outstanding view.

Our dinner was a disappointment. The quality of food did not match the price. Service was adequate but impersonal and abrupt. The salad bar, however, was good.

Restaurant is VERYRUNDOWN — Furniture is from the 60’s and very run down — carpet filthy and WATCHYOURSTEP — The only thing going for this place was the view of the ocean. Food is spendy and unappetizing! Bleh!

My sister & I ate there for dinner and had a wonderful meal… until later that night when she developed severe food poisoning. Since we hadn’t eaten anything else that day we knew it had to come from Adobe. She was down in bed for 2 days and because of her diabetes I was greatly worried. I did speak with Anthony, the General Manager, and he was worried as well & offered a gift card as way of apologizing for the inconvenience. I was impressed with this and told him we’d be willing to give the restaurant another chance. Well, that was 2 months ago and still no card!!! We’re very disappointed with their business practices!

Food was good, Erin was a great waitress but the only reason I didn’t give it a 5 Star was because the furniture at the table was delapited.

We have been coming to the Adobe 3 or 4 weeks a year for 20 years. Yes it seems lost in time but they have been slowly upgrading it over the last few years. It’s still a little funky but do you want something without character that’s the same as every place else. The food has been up and down because they have changed chefs but I think they have found a Good one now. The pub steak I had tonight would melt in your mouth. As a resort the pool is Olympic size with a jacuzzi, sauna, outstanding exercise room and game room that befits a resort at a reasonable price. The staff is helpful and friendly. My one gripe is they still greet me like its my first time here despite the fact that I have brought friends, neighbors and relatives here. We have stayed in several other places in Yachats and on the coast and have been given upgrades, meals, free nights, etc. So regrettably this will be our last stay here since we have found other places that value us more.

Been meaning to write a little something about this place since I was just there with my family for the 4th. This place is stuck in time and in a desperate need of a deep clean, fresh coat of paint, and some new furniture. If you go to the bar and go upstairs with a drink, you’ll forget about its ripped seats and poor service because it’s that magical. But beware, if you look away from the ocean, reality sets in. Four of us walked into the bar, which at the time only had one other customer. The bartender appeared distraught that we came in wanting a drink after exploring the 804 trail. It was as if he didn’t want to do his job!(I love Yachats, but the people that work in the service industry do things begrudgingly and with a grumpy and put-upon attitude. I have experienced it at every restaurant and establishment I’ve visited.) I was exploring the liquor options behind the bar and after hearing his response about a Bloody Mary(Person in my party asked how the BM’s were, and the bartender responds«I don’t know if I make a great one, but the mix is pretty tasty.») I just settled for a whiskey and coke… Which he served with too much ice in one of those Irish Coffee cocktail glasses. Seriously? He served me first, and in the 10 minutes it took for us to get out drinks, another waitress came in behind the bar with an overly energetic attitude. She asked how our bartender was doing, to which he responds«oh, not that good, honestly. My back is killing me. I’d rather be at home.» So upstairs we go, where another couple is enjoying the view with their feet up and drinks in hand. The table we selected was in the far north corner and had yet to be bussed. There were crumbs and dirty dishes which we had to move ourselves. If you were to gaze anywhere around the room, all you see is stains, dust, rips and an area that is much deserving of some love and attention. It really does have a great view and I’m sad to see that no one has bothered to give it any up-keep. Also they misspelled their special on a piece of paper. Doesn’t anyone know how to use spell check?

We were surprised at how good the food was here as the hotel itself seems rundown and just a bit tacky. [teeny bit!] My husband ordered the jumbo scampi and I had the smoked salmon fettuccine. Fettuccine is what you order when you don’t know what to order – sort of bland and comforting. But the salmon(they smoke their own salmon!) really gave this a briny distinctive flavor that cut through the cream. Other dishes looked equally imaginative.

Though I found the bar food(nachos, chicken tenders, garlic fries) mediocre and the entrée items spendy, I left satieted and enjoyed my experience at Adobe with friends. We celebrated my friend’s birthday at the long established Adobe with huge windows overlooking the gorgeous coast since the other restaurants we visited and planned on dining in had a long wait. Vera, our server for the night made wonderful suggestions on our drinks and took a group picture of us. She came back with a card for my friend complete with the printed picture along with a complimentary birthday dessert.

My husband and I tried the Adobe Restaurant again a couple of weekends ago for a Saturday dinner. It was excellent this time. It could be that their best chefs work on weekend days. It was a weekday when we were there before. Still would like to see them get rid of the salad bar and opt for salad plates with dinner instead.

Wonderful meal. I ordered the petite bacon wrapped filet minion and my partner ordered the pepper steak. Both were cooked medium. Partner said his pepper steak had a lot of fat. My meat was great. Although the waitress on duty had to manage 7 tables because management allowed staff to go home early(I heard her telling the table next to us this info), she kept her demeanor positive and patient. She was pleasant and informative. We tipped her nicely. The view of the ocean from our table was magical, even at night. We had the deluxe package so it included a $ 40 credit towards dinner and $ 18 towards breakfast. Our dinner with 2 alcoholic beverages and 2 meals was $ 39 was out of pocket. Awesome. I expect Lurrupin in Trinidad, CA to be more like this, but sadly it hasn’t been. Thanks Adobe for a lovely dinner.

Request a table by the windows and be mesmerized by the surf crashing onto the rocks below while you enjoy some of the nicest dining on the Oregon coast. Time it right and you can catch the sunset, or maybe see whales migrating past. The crab pot is by far their most popular dish.

One star for the view(a wedding party was taking their photos between the restaurant and the shore) and the staff. We planned a trip to go to this restaurant that was way out of our way. Everyone was disappointed with the food, which we could have gotten anywhere. I don’t mind paying a little more for a good meal but I expect the food to reflect the price. It didn’t. At least the waitress made every effort to make us feel special. I was just so disappointed, I had always thought The Adobe was the place to go. You really are just paying for the view.

Yumm! One of the best places we’ve been, a little spendy, but good. The staff is very professional and not in your face every two Seconds asking about the food. They have pretty good sized portions compared to other places that are in the same price range. They have plenty of options, from steak to seafood to chicken and vegetarian items.

Lovely view and great service, but most of the food is awful. Stick to the grilled stuff that they can’t wreck too badly and maybe you’ll do OK. My husband and I ate there twice. One night I had a steak and it was good. I had it with fries which were also good. All the other dishes we got were yucky, canned, frozen, processed food. I actually saw a farmer deliver some fresh corn so I thought the veggies at least would be good. Not so. The veggies with my crab pot(baked crab au gratin) included one small piece of a corn cob but the kitchen smothered it with canned cheese sauce and wrecked it!(The crab pot was inedible too, by the way, mushy and tasteless.) For dessert I has peach cobbler. This included fresh peaches which could have been good but the kitchen wrecked it with all sort of artificial favors that gave me a stomach ache.
