Sometimes you do bad things to your body. Eating at Taco Bell is one of them. It’s not really Mexican but when you’re in a pinch you think«eh, what the hell?» but you should know better. Unless you don’t mind getting mud butt that is. I didn’t get diarrhea so I guess I should be grateful. I stopped by one night for a few Doritos los tacos. While I’m here, I’ll take an order of fiesta potatoes as well. I get home and realize I don’t have any fiesta potatoes! Well what kinda party is this?! I shoot them an email just asking if I could have a coupon for my potatoes for next time. I wait for more than a few days. I write them again but this time I get a phone call. The manager apologizes and says that he’s not sure what happened but that he never got the first email. No biggie. I just want my fiesta potatoes man! He tells me to come on by and I can order a combo meal and my fiesta potatoes and they’ll be on the house. Cool beans kid, cool beans. I order the exact same thing as I did the first time except I got a drink. I ask if they have lemonade? The lady tells me she has pink lemonade. I’ll take it. I pull around and tell them that Andy said it was on the house. Andy appears and he takes care of the bill. Thanks bud. He hands me my drink, my bag, and off I go. I got my fiesta potatoes. They even threw in a spork! F — ! They didn’t give me ANY taco sauce. I’m parched. I go to take a sip of my WHATTHE —– ISTHIS?! They gave me a large ice water. I guess the line ran out of product but no one noticed –___– WHYMETACOBELL? WHYME?!

I don’t do the fast food as much as I did when I was on the road but when I did, I often craved a crunchy taco — the most perfect thing on the Taco Bell menu. I’ve been to most of them in southeastern PA over the years and this one has the friendliest people working there that I’ve ever experienced. I used to say that about 5th Street but since this one opened, they’ve actually improved that standard. Don’t get me wrong, 5th Street is still great too. But what you absolutely must avoid is the Perkiomen Ave location. For the past half dozen years they have devolved into a complete fiasco. Repeat, stay away from the one on 422 by the Walmark east of Reading.

The interior of this Taco Bell is definitely different to my local Taco Bell but to my surprise it was nicely kept and clean. The«Happy Hour» is very nice too. $ 1 for a frozen drink or a griller is awesome!

I’ll be brief which is odd for me. For a chain Taco Bell made me feel simply PLEASED. I went through the drive thru and was greeted by an enthusiastic female voice. She seamed happy and asked secondary questions,(i.e: would you like sauce with that, protein choice, etcetera.). I was pleasantly surprised to see a very by the book extrusion of proportioned ingredients that were fresh. I hope them the best, but it feels wrong that they literally slayed a Pizza Hut to exist.
