One of my favorite places! This place is true to it’s name a real Community Coffeehouse. Not only are the beverages outstanding but the baked items are homemade by hand daily. They donate all of their tips to various charities throughout the year and are quick with a smile, joke, or conversation if the times allows. What a wonderful place and I’m grateful in this fast drive through life we live in we can take a minute, pause, have a nice cup of coffee, and listen to some skilled person play the guitar. What an asset to our community!

My first time here and the coffee, cinnamon roll and service is exceptional! I’m a bit of a coffee snob and I will certainly come here again. The place itself is super cute and very inviting. You can come here and play games with your kids or even do homework if you need a peaceful place to sit.

Simply lovely. Very nice coffee shop experience. Perfect for informal get together, very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with a wide variety of coffee and tea. Baked goods and food items are fresh and presented well. If you are looking for a sit down and chat location this is a must. Staff is helpful and friendly. Plus you may get serenaded by someone who plays one of the guitars that are hanging on the wall with an invitation to play.

I am a native Rhode Islander but havee been living in New York for almost 4 years now but when I come back, visiting this place is up on my priority list as much as it is important to visit my family and friends! I’ve been to your standard starbucks to the fancier Gregory’s to Blue stone Lane and NOTHING compares to Higher Grounds. Their coffee is so amazing! If you’re simply visiting or just in the neighborhood, please try their coffee/latte!

I’m torn. I really want to LOVE this place. The interior is inviting and makes you want to stay a while. Service is personable. But. The coffee? Not impressed. Brewed in large batch– choice of regular or decaf. When I inquired about flavors, I was given many choices of syrups. Great! Or so one might think– that pump of syrup is an extra $ 1. Not so great. I’ll stick with the little café up the road– they at least offer one fresh flavored coffee each day– at no additional cost.

Nice to have a new café in town and from what my wife tells me, their coffee is outstanding. The baked goods are always fresh and tasty, and the atmosphere inside is tranquil and relaxing. I’ve gotten to know the owners and they are most definitely dedicated to making their business work and are always open to suggestions on how to improve it. And as such, I’m hoping in the future, that they ditch the teabag offerings and switch to loose leaf tea. I’m a tea drinker and I’d definitely spend more money in this shop if they offered a more premium selection of teas. If that ever comes to fruition, I’ll update my rating to five stars.

Higher Grounds has truly found their highest ground. Enter a world of unconditional kindness, exquisite gormet coffee, and the atmosphere of grandmother’s kitchen when you were young. Owned by possibly the sweetest couple on the planet, Higher Grounds maintains its mission of giving back to the community. Serving up coffee roasted nearby, Higher Grounds offers unique and tasteful high-quality coffee blends, savory espresso drinks, and a mouth-watering variety of baked treats. Altogether Higher Grounds is the coffee shop we all wish we had down the steeet.

I love this place! Keith and Jen do a great job making signature espresso drinks and catering to all types of food allergies. As a member of the Celiac Disease community, I can say they make great cookies, sandwiches, and cupcakes for the gluten free friendly. Their coffee is delicious and priced competitively. Definitely worth the stop in!
