I used to love this store but lately the service and quality of the meat has gone down hill! I’m hoping by writing this review the owners will take note. With that said I’m talking about the daughter who is so not friendly and acts like your bothering her when she’s ringing your purchase up! Not to mention the daughters boyfriend who is acting like a butcher! He cuts the meat opposite of the way it’s supposed to be cut which makes it terrible tuff! So very disappointed! Wish it would go back to the old soltzs!

This place has changed a lot. Used to be a great place to get meat, now about the same quality as Meijer and Kroger.

Downriver resident all my life…& a faithful shopper @ Soltz’s ! Absolutely, hands down the very best broasted chicken you will ever eat! Their catering menu is excellent, too. Perfect when you have Abigail crowd, a funeral lunch, retirement celebration, etc. When you see chicken in a Buffett… You Pray that it’s from Soltz’s! They also make THE best coleslaw from scratch, too! Soltz’s also supports our charities … My dear friend won a 16 Piece bucket just this weekend… & the whole table CHEERED when we heard it was Soltz’s & wasn’t one of those«other» places! I love getting a box lunch… & taking it’ down to the riverfront in Wyandotte… So beautiful & relaxing.

The chicken is the best around. Th price for the excellent quality is great. It’s worth the drive to come to Wyandotte for all there fixes. They are so much better than the«bigger» competition.

Soltz’s is just a small hole in the wall butcher shop. Yet I’ve been going here since my childhood and not just because they have good quality deli meats, steaks, chicken, and kebabs because they do. In fact they have very good quality meat and you can special order large amounts if you want to buy all your meat for the next few months. Or you can just be like me and grab a few steaks for tonight. The biggest reason I goto Soltz’s and why they get 5 stars in my book is their broasted chicken. It’s involves using a pressurized deep fryer. Kinda of like what a certain Colonel of the Sanders variety does, but much much better. It’s very similar to fried chicken but less greasy, more moist and just as flavorful. At Soltz’s this usually means a crisp very dark brown outer layer and very moist juicy chicken inside. It’s amazing. And cheap! A bone in breast is only $ 2.32 a piece! Although you can get thigh, drumstick etc if you want(and cheaper). They will also prepare boneless chicken breasts for an extra 50 cents a piece and they need at least 2 – 3 hours to make it. They also cater out parties with this wonderful chicken. I highly recommend if you are looking for an unexpectedly good carryout lunch. Also a few other notes, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. In the fall they will process/butcher deer. And this is carry out only as the primary business is the butcher shop.
