Favorite spot right now Awesome wait staff, super friendly and cute. Amazing food in a decent setting and I’ll continue to come back. They also have carry outs until 2am which is super rare in Wyandotte

The problem of eating at the BEST places on Warren in Dearborn is they set the bar pretty high. The salad was just turning. Whatever wasn’t sold today would end up in the trash tonight. I get it, fresh produce costs and goes bad in a few days, BUT a quality fatoush is essential for a M.E. Restaurant. The dressing on the salad was a little too strong(i.e. Vinegar) for my tastes. The portion was sufficient for me, but compared to the REAL competition: nothing leftover. Got the Kafta. Not very flavorful and they burned all the moisture out of it. The white rice bland too. How about some yellow rice? Nope! No pita… so there’s that. The Toum was the only good thing for all us garlic lovers. Bottom line: if you’re wanting M.E. food downriver try Malik Al Kebob on Goddard our DR favorite or Beirut Gardens on Eureka.

Small clean place. Not much atmosphere. Kinda slow service. Average tasting food. Slightly high prices. It was worth a try, but probably wont go back.

Great food, generous portions, and very comfortable atmosphere! My husband and I shared a «Baba’s combo for two». I enjoyed the order our food was served in. The hummus was brought first, followed by salad, then the main course. We had enough time to enjoy each portion, but didn’t wait too long for the next. The main course(a total of five kabobs plus portions of shawarma chicken and beef, served on rice) was huge! Everything had great flavor and the meat was cooked perfectly. The vegetables and rice were excellent. We were left with enough extra to give us each another lunch or dinner the next day, and then some. As for drinks, the craft beer selection isn’t huge, but certainly enough for us to find one we liked. They seemed to have a good supply of quality liquor for mixed drinks, and we noticed specials for every day of the week. We will definitely be back! Check it out if you’re looking for healthy, flavorful food and good atmosphere.

I was not impressed at all. I was very excited to have a new Mediterranean restaurant so close to home and I decided to give it a try. The beef schwarma sandwich and the chicken schwarma sandwich were very tiny and dry. I didn’t taste any garlic; however, it did taste bitter. The meat seemed to be seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. The pita was dry and crumbly. We ordered some hoummus. It came with 5 tiny little pitas(about the size of a coaster). When we asked for more pita we were charged. We actually had to ask for salt and pepper. There was none on the table. Whenever we visit Mediterranean restaurants they usually bring hot pita bread and garlic right away. They bring you NOTHING here! The manager/owner was very hospitable and visited our table upon arrival. I hate to hurt his feelings but anyone that knows good food will never eat here again. I will stick to my favorite place, Beirut Gardens on Eureka Rd. :)

The Moussaka lunch with lentil soup was amazing. It’s great to have more places like this Down River. Great food, great service, and great drinks. The Falafel wrap has amazing flavors and everything on the menu looks great, my wife and I can’t wait to come back for more. They also have a late night menu that runs after midnight.

Huge fan of Middle Eastern food and living in the Dearborn/Downriver area, we have a huge selection of great options. I was extremely excited to have a new place closer to home so we gave Baba’s a shot. I feel there are a few staples you have to hit to make a Middle Eastern spot a good one. 1. Make your own Pita! At least in a worse case scenario have local and fresh New Yasmeen pita as a backup, this place does neither… A huge disappointment 2. Portions. Let’s be honest, name me the last time you went to a Middle Eastern restaurant, spent $ 15 on a Chicken Schawarma platter and left nothing less than stuffed? I had this exact menu option and felt like I got half portions of what I normally get and we even had Hummus as an appetizer(which was also a really small portion) To be fair, the food was good… I wouldn’t say it was better than anything in the area but it also wasn’t below either. I really wanted to love this place and have a closer option, but looks like I will stick to Beirut Garden or if I have the time Country Restaurant in Dearborn, both superior options…
