My partner, my sister, and myself were looking for a last minute cabin for my birthday. Owl’s Nook proved to be a wondrous getaway with charm, comfort, and warmth for a reasonable price, and we could even bring our little doggie. Barbara and Stu responded to our texts in a timely manner, and even allowed us to check out late because we arrived late, which was a lovely service touch. The vibrant décor and quilts in the 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath hardwood floor space welcomed us, and the view from the dining room’s floor to ceiling windows inspired a poem from me. The height of the slanted ceilings was marvelous, and there’s even a sleeping nook if you need more space than the 2 bedrooms, so you can sleep at least 5. Perhaps my favorite flourish was the notebook left for guests to sign regarding our experience. It felt like a wonderful ongoing community of travelers, families, and seekers marking their time in this impossibly wonderful hiding place, made even more so by its lack of pretense. We communed by the fireplace late into the night, and explored the spacious, fenced in yard, which had space on the porch to dine on, as well as in the backyard, if you so chose. There was hiking and zip lining nearby. It made my birthday an inimitable experience. AND Barbara and Stu have several spaces in Wrightwood, so if the specs of Owl’s Nook aren’t an exact match, check out Chickadee, Little Pines, The Hideaway, or Reindeer Cottage. Barbara and Stu do it right.

3-story mountain house with 2 bedrooms and a fun little sleeping nook. Lots of outdoor living space, just across the cul-de-sac from hiking and sledding. Nice place! And pet friendly, with a fenced yard. Great view from the wall of windows in the living/dining area.
