Dance & Beyond

When my wife and I were first started planning our wedding, we agreed that it would be important for us to take dance lessons. As a tall, white, guy, I don’t have the greatest musicality, and certainly my dance experience is limited to the lean back from the early 2000s. She found Ms. Megan and we signed up for 10 lessons for a fully choreographed routine. I am so glad we did. Not only was it something fun to look forward to during the hectic final months of wedding planning, but we felt so confident dancing on our wedding day. The confidence showed as so many of our guests showered us with dance compliments. As an educator myself, I attribute the success of our lessons to Ms. Megan’s technical as well as pedagogical competence. She is an accomplished dancer, but more importantly she is a gifted teacher. She spent time with us to determine our goals and limitations at the start of the process. She scaffolded the dance into bite size curricular units for each weekly lesson. She reviewed with us at the start of each lesson and gave us homework to keep us engaged when we were away from the ballroom. My wife and I commented that she even has a jacket that has «faculty» embroidered on it. As an assistant dean, I can say without a doubt, Ms. Megan you are the Dean of your school and it shows! Thanks for guiding us to a beautiful product. Guys, Ms. Megan will make you look cool, trust me. And couples, do more lessons than less, 10 was a great number to learn the routine and polish it. Oh and I felt we really started to get it when we brought our go-​pro into the ballroom to video each lesson, it was a nice way to take each lesson home to review as homework.

I took dance lessons here with my dad before my wedding and it was so much fun! Would highly recommend!!! Sarah is a great teacher and so very nice and personable — she made us feel very comfortable with the steps and taught at a good pace. She picked the style dance that worked well w/​the music which happened to be the fox trot for us. I have wonderful memories with my dad that I’ll have forever — And we felt confident getting up on the dance floor and doing our Father/​Daughter Dance. It was so special :)

Highly recommend this studio for zumba classes, which they offer 3 nights a week. Meghan is so full of energy and such a sweetheart, a total blast to be around. Their rates are very good, I think the best in the area. If you’re looking for fun and sexy classes that feel like a party, this studio is a good bet.

Meaghan is Great Teacher! I took dance lessons for a local fund raiser and she was very patient and supportive throughout our lessons. She went at a pace that was comfortable for me and never rushed me along the journey. I was able to witness first hand the way she inspires her students and the great respect they have for her. I would highly recommend Dance & Beyond and I will be back for more lessons. Meaghan makes dancing FUN!
