PSR just completed a total renovation of our kitchen. We had to start from scratch by updating the electric, plumbing, walls, windows, and floors. It was a huge job, and PSR took care of the details at every step. Everyday the team would clean up, so we never came home to a mess. Pat and his team were honest, trustworthy, and detailed. My husband and I had very specific ideas about how we wanted our kitchen to be, and Pat nailed it! Pat even coordinated the cleaning team after the renovation was over. We can’t wait to start our next project with Pat Scales Remodeling.

I built my house back in 2001, and I keep it in pretty good condition. Starting off with a new house, you get to see things break, but not too quickly, which gives you a chance to fix them before they cause big headaches. For electronics, I have a favorite electrician. When I need someone to work on my plumbing, I’ve got that covered too. If it’s too hot or too cold, I feel comfortable working with a company that I have a history with. Enter: Fraggle. I recently adopted a big dog, and he’s a bully mix. So cute, cuddly and needs exercise. He loves the outdoors, and we have a pretty decent little backyard, but it’s not so much fun putting him on a long tether, which he wraps around trees and… it just gets to be messy and, doggone it, I want him to be free out there. The back door would also need to go, as it had a full-length glass window, which worked against the idea of a doggy-door. So we needed a fence, and it had to be six feet tall, enclosed, with a latched gate. We needed a replacement door, but really enjoyed the window portion of the old door. The owner, Pat Scales, first made arrangements with me to go over the plan, what was required in the way of permits and homeowners’ association approvals. At first, it seemed like a lot of work, but Pat knew the ins and outs, and we worked together to get a pretty quick approval through. Once the plans had been approved by the HOA and the local zoning people, the hardware was delivered, and a date set. Pat showed up with a very professional crew, started the project out, got things lined up, and set his crew to work while he, himself, worked on the door replacement. We ended up with a gorgeous half-glass door, with a doggy-door perfectly sized for Fraggle. Regarding the door… The back and front door of my house never really closed easily. It was always a pain to close them, and get them to latch. When I told this to Pat, after he had finished calibrating the door to the existing jam, he showed me how the door could be closed simply by pressing it closed with a few fingers. Nice! I think I may have him re-work my front door at some point in the near future. Like butter… but not messy. Once the crew started digging the post holes, pouring the concrete and placing the posts into the ground, you could see how well planned out the fence was. I realize that it’s just a wooden fence, but it’s well-crafted, and all of the pieces had to be put together individually, so it hugs the ground, even where the ground’s not even. So we have this well-constructed fence, it looks really nice, keeps the dog in. Loving the look of the gate, the way it opens… then I find out that there was a piece missing which caused the outside latch to not open. Not a big deal. I called Pat, and he stopped over the next day to fix the problem. They also moved the latch down which, for a big dog, is most likely a problem, as he could hit the latch and get out. One more call, one more trip, everything’s the way it is now: perfect. I think that sometimes people have expectations that things are going to be absolutely perfect the first time, which I can understand. Myself, working in the computer service industry, I know that I make mistakes sometimes, and I feel much better knowing that my customers are going to be cool about my resolution in the end. You still get some complainers, but generally, people are understanding. It’s not that a mistake was made, but how the mistake is taken care of that matters. Pat and his team were always professional, they got the job done in a very reasonable time-frame — some of which was the weather being kind, the rest of it was their professionalism and talent. As I mentioned before, I’m looking to have my front door tweaked. I’m also considering building a new back door ramp for my smaller dog who doesn’t like tall steps. I won’t hesitate to ask Pat to perform these tasks when I am ready to move forward with the projects. Now, when I walk down the fence, I’m always surprised a little at the sturdy construction, the high-quality parts used, and the attractiveness of the build. When it comes to my house, I truly appreciate a job well done.
