A little hidden treasure in the bluebell skippack area… One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. We made a reservation, were greeted by the owner and just constant 1:1 attention and catering the entire time. The food was to die for and so was the dessert!!! 10 stars! I will definitely be going back.

We had dinner at Zacaharias creek side café on a Friday night with a groupon. Décor and atmosphere didn’t really jump out at me, so no comment for that. Service is friendly and attentive. For our appetizer, we tried one of their specials — a crab and shrimp fondue. The chunks of crab and shrimp are tasty as we dipped our apple slices and grapes in the swirl of seafood and cheese. However, the bread we had is salted — it is a little unusual in my opinion to salt the bread. Usually the bread should taste neutral and act as a vessel for other tastes. We mostly enjoyed our entrees, we had a Tuna with couscous and greenbeans and a delmonico steak with a coffee flavor and mashed potatoes and green beans. The tuna is cooked well. Nice sear on the outside and raw in the middle which is perfect. The steak I requested medium, but it came out more medium well(there was hardly any pink on the inside). Entrees and their sides are really good, but not mind blowing. We also had the coconut cake for dessert. Again, really good but not mind blowing. In my opinion, zacharias is average overall on all fronts, but it just seems pricey in my opinion for average food.

I’ve been to this place twice, and I highly recommend it. The first time we called to make reservations, the owner answered and my wife told him we wanted a reservation for 6:30. He told her that he had a big party coming in, and he recommended coming in no later than 6:15 if we could so that he could make sure we got good service. I appreciated the thoughtfulness and we did end up going at 6:15, and despite the large party(20 people or so) that came in after us, the service was still excellent. Don’t go here expecting Chili’s or TGI Friday’s. The food is much better to say the least(for example, all pasta is house-made), and yes, you pay for that. Dinner for two with appetizers may very well run you $ 100, or at least $ 75. However, both my wife and I took home leftovers enough for a second meal each time we ate here. Also, don’t go here if you’re in a hurry to eat and get out… this is a relax-and-enjoy-your-dinner kind of place place. They don’t bring your entrée out while you’re still eating your appetizer and then shove you out the door like restaurant chains do. If the seafood special is on the menu, and you like seafood, order it! It’s fantastic. The short rib is excellent here as well.

Been here 4x so far and absolutely LOVE this place. The food is very good, the atmosphere is comfortable and pretty. Indoor or outdoor seating. BYOB. The staff has always been nice and attentive. The owner walks around and checks on your meals and asks if there is anything he can do for you. I recommend to everyone. Not sure how you can have a bad experience here. We will be going back with friends in April. For Fri & Sat night I suggest making a reservation. pretty busy and now that the weather is getting nice too

I had a terrible Valentines Day dinner, last Sat. Service was horrendous!!! Special appetizer — was a seafood fondue but they forgot the seafood. I had seared tuna that had 2 chunks of tuna. One chunk had grizzle thru it and I could hardly cut through it, let alone chew it. I will not be tempted to return there.

The food is okay, but the prices are pretty steep for that portions. Most entrees are about $ 25 – 29, and appetizers are around $ 12 – 14. Some highlights: 1. Chicken Toscano: This was okay with a grilled chicken breast topped with a cream-based sauce, tomatoes, and mushrooms. The ratatouille is literally just sauteed veggies without any sauce, which was surprising given that the name implies it will be seasoned in a tomato-based sauce. The Israeli couscous side was pretty good and I did like the blend of butternut squash that it was cooked with. The chicken itself was just meh and a bit on the dry side. 2. Butternut Squash Ravioli: This was good with a sweet and savory sauce and a golden and red raisin topping. The pasta itself was not as tender as it could have been but the ricotta filling was creamy and the sauce very good. 3. Bison meatballs: This came on a bed of sauteed spinach with a tomato-based sauce. It was just okay as the meat was on the dry side. This was also very small for $ 14. There was literally 3 tiny meatballs. The focaccia bread is served with an olive and EVOO dip, which was pretty standard. While the food was just okay, I will say that our server was lovely and incredibly helpful. So 2 stars for the food and an extra for the great service. The bill came to $ 64 pre-tip, for the 3 dishes mentioned above, which is on the pricey side. It is a BYOB, so it’s s solid option if you prefer to bring your own alcohol and are in the Blue Bell area.

So sorry to say this but we have been regulars but don’t think we will be back. Came for our anniversary and were very disappointed. Chicken dish was so dry we could not cut it. The salmon special was on point. It was tough to say good night when we paid for two dinners but could only eat one. No offer to take the dinner off the bill was the wrong choice by the wait staff. It seems to be hit or miss here.

Nice little BYOB on Skippack Pike. Very unassuming from the outside, but it’s worth the stop. Our server was very pleasant and extremely helpful for first time visitors like ourselves. She gave recommendations based on some things we were interested in. We ended up getting the smoked gruyère with shrimp and crab fondue(pictured), the short rib(pictured), and the grouper special(pictured). The fondue was very good on the apple, grapes, and toasted bread. My wife enjoyed the grouper, but the asparagus risotto that came with it was our favorite part of her meal. Very creamy and flavorful. My short rib was outstanding. The meat just fell apart and the mashed potatoes and garlic spinach were great, but the sauce that it was in made the whole thing perfect. This was our server’s recommendation for me and I’m glad she suggested it. I’d recommend it for anyone looking for some high quality comfort food. Very good first experience.

Good service. Pricy. Three out of the four dishes was salty. I should’ve shared that with the cook/chef.

I didn’t think I would like this place given the overall ratings. We had a groupon and decided to try. I was pleasantly surprised! They served the best cream of mushroom soup I’ve eaten out which gives them high marks. The rest of our food was quick delicious. A pricy option in the area, it’s a good choice for a splurge.

My wife and I ate dinner here one evening and basically picked this place because of a Groupon we had. There are a lot of tables crammed into this place and it was busy the night we were there. We did have reservations and I would recommend making them, especially on weekends. The owner was very nice and even came over to talk with us a bit. Service was good as was the food. Portion sizes are about average, but my main issue here was the price. The bill was well over $ 100 for two appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and it just felt too high for what we got. I’ve had just as good dinners in the city for about the same price. I might try this place for lunch and would consider coming back if I found a good enough deal.

First visit tonight… Warm and inviting with a very friendly staff. Highly recommend the bison meatballs, chicken florentine and the organic portobello mushroom. Mentioned in passing that it was my BF’s birthday and was delighted that they brought out our shared dessert with a birthday candle and«happy birthday» elegantly written in chocolate. This place is an absolute delight and we will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends and family.

The restaurant is located in a very convenient spot and offers a wide range of menu selections, which left me confused and put off. I felt the menu lacked focus; there were sea food dishes, Italian dishes, American dishes and it was just too much for me personally. While I loved that the pasta and sauce were fresh made I wasn’t getting an Italian vibe from the place so it made it hard to enjoy. Also the pasta wasn’t my first choice, but since they were out of the wild boar and veal chop I had to go with the pasta… The pasta I ate was fresh and cooked properly and the vodka sauce I chose was excellent; it was seasoned properly and had a nice hint of garlic. Overall my experience at Zacharias creek was just okay and the reviews, especially Amy A’s are similar to my experince. I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon.

This is a great place with excellent flat breads and an even better cream of mushroom soup. If you don’t get anything, get the soup, it really is perfection. The first time I went there, I met the owner who came out and was very friendly and personable. The food is very fresh and delicious, the only con is how pricey things are, and that’s kind of a biggie. The portions are an average size but for some reason I just can’t justify paying that much for one meal.

Excellent experience! Great place, great food, great location, great service and had an awesome outside seating area. The owner is very nice and personable. The staff is friendly and attentive. This was my second time here and it exceeded the expectations. With a well balanced menu and the option for byob, it is one of my favorite local places. The only faults I would say was that the apps were a little pricey for the amount they had served, but the large entrees made up for it. I would recommend this place to anyone and will be back!

So I’ve been to Zachariah’s twice now. The first time was just an awful experience. My boyfriend and I had a Groupon and went with another couple. We went around 7 on a Saturday night. Not sure if it was because they were new or what but the service was terrible and the food was mediocre. We waited for almost fifteen minutes after being seated for water, any service whatsoever. We had wine to be opened(as this is a BYOB) and that didn’t get opened until after we ordered because the waiter kept forgetting it. Anyway, less than impressed. The second time we went was MUCH better! I figured we’d just chalk the first experience up to bad timing and lack of waitstaff. This time we went on a weeknight and the food was delcious. We split the bruschetta for an appetizer and we each got the stuffed flank steak. It was stuffed with herbs, roasted red peppers and smoked Gouda! Served with garlic mashers and veggies. Excellent choice! The meals are a bit pricey but rightfully so as you won’t find a cheesesteak or sandwich on the menu. Definitely recommend, maybe just not on a weekend!

I’m really surprised by some of the lower ratings for Zacharias — I’ve been there twice now and really enjoyed my meal both times. The last time I was in I had the ahi tuna and not only was it perfectly cooked, but its accompaniments were awesome. I could eat that everyday. We had the bruschetta and also some hummus as appetizers for our group. The bruschetta was great(it was a special and had a goat cheese spread on it that really set it apart) but the hummus was on the plain side. Very unmemorable. I wouldn’t order that again, but I would certainly not let that stop me from going back. My friends also all seemed pleased with their meals, and in fact, this was the second time there with that group — we were all excited to meet there again based on our first experience. The service has been consistently excellent and because it’s a BYO, even though the meal prices are a little on the high side, you get out of there spending a lot less than you’re expecting. I would say that Zacharias is a great place to bring a group for low key dinner. They have plenty of different menu options, so even the pickiest of eaters is likely to be pleased. It’s a great atmosphere and they don’t rush you along with your meal. A relaxing place to be.
