Excellent homemade hash. Don’t miss the Syrian toast with feta.

My family used to own this place«back in the day». And I promise you it is still as good as ever. Their eggs are always perfect, and they kept the Lebanese breakfast true to its name.

Recently moved to Hamilton Street although there are a variety of restaurants to choose from, as a picky eater I have a hard time trying new places and specifically new food. This small diner did not disappoint, you are giving a large portion size along with friendly staff. This is a cash only restaurant and the prices are great too for the amount of food you are served. My husband and I will definitely be coming back here, and when you go be sure to try their home fries yummmmm!!!

Came in for breakfast and ordered the Lumberjack. 3 eggs, 3 bacon, 3 sausage, 3 slices of ham with home fries and toast. The food arrived quick and hot. It was a delicious breakfast that I was unable to finish(huge serving). I recommend this place but remember, it’s cash only.

5 stars for the food. Nice variety. Good portions. 3 stars for the service… however they were busy. But 1 star for the bathroom which you needed to walk through the kitchen… and there was no sink.(Sink out in the kitchen? Yuck)

4.5 stars is too high for this place. I don’t think the interior has changed much since it was Scano’s Bakery 20 years ago. The home fries were good and the service was fast(although we were the only ones in there), everything else was average except the corn beef hash. My huge plate of corned beef hash mainly consisted of overcooked shredded potatoes with specks of corned beef, not what I was expecting. They only take cash.

First time here and we were immediately greeted by the super friendly owner. Small and cozy café with great selection. The home made hash was amazing and we were surprised as so many places around the area use canned hash. The hash consisted of potatoes, finally chopped corned beef and onions and spices. Again really tasty with three poached eggs on top. My wife had a western omelette sandwich and it was huge. Coffee great and we really liked the location as well as coziness of this place. We don’t put out many 5 stars and one thing that influences us beyond just the food is the character of the place as well as friendly and really just right service. The Shaker Café left us saying we would definitely return and recommend to others.

I grew up eating in the diners of Boston and have become a bit of a connoisseur. Worcester has two of the best in the area — the Miss Worcester and Shakers. Shakers is owned/operated by an émigré couple from the Baltics and is run like you are guests in their home. The food is superbly cooked, abundant and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the eggs benedict and farmer’s homefries — a dish consisting of unskinned red potatoes(my favorite) and chopped bacon, ham and sausage, with a drizzle of cheese over the top. Real cheese. Not cheese product. Go. Eat. Be happy. It’s probably their motto.

My girlfriend and I love this place for brunch. It’s our go-to place and our favorite breakfast joint in Worcester. The omelettes are amazing. They are the kind of omelette where the egg is really thin and wrapped multiple times around the fillings. Most things here are finely chopped making for the perfect mouthful. The home-fries that come with the omelettes are also great. They are well cooked and well seasoned(unlike most places which forget to properly season their potatoes). The hash is also amazing and there are lots of great choices for hash. Shaker’s is family owned and the service is fantastic.

Best diner I have been to in Worcester so far. Had spinach with feta omelet and the spinach was totally 100% fresh and lots of it. Omelet egg was thin and perfectly cooked. Super friendly staff.

Best breakfast in Worcester! Small family owned café on Hamilton St(closer to the Lake Ave end). We eat here often on the weekends, and are always greeted with a warm welcome from the owner. The coffee is always good and piping hot. The omelettes are amazing; full of fresh fillings and big enough for 2 meals. The home fries are my favorite and so full of flavor. Hubby LOVES the homemade corned beef hash. He says it’s the best he’s ever eaten anywhere, and that seems to be the general consensus of everyone in the restaurant. The pancakes are light and fluffy(and the size of the plate). Check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

What a great local find! We were driving from Boston and got hungry on the Mass Pike. Looked up restaurants and this was #1 in Worcester. Pauline, the owner, served us personally and made great menu recommendations. We had Syrian feta toast as an appetizer, and 3 meals including eggs & hash, scrambled eggs w/kibby and eggs bene. Delicious AND excellent size portions!!! STOPHERE! You won’t be disappointed.

Really good menu. Everything is well priced. The service is great. I love it that you can get one pancake for $ 1.50. They have some house specialties that were really good. The bread with the feta cheese is pretty good, great with the Greek omelette. The menu has something for everyone even lunch.

4& ½ stars? Really, Unilocal?I was not that impressed. I think they have a loyal following and those are the reviews you see. There are way better breakfast options in Worcester. I mean, everything was okay. It was just okay. It’s not like the prices are rock bottom. I got the corned beef hash with eggs, I think it’s the Shaker’s specialty breakfast. The eggs and corned beef hash were all over done. I understand how tasty it is to get that ‘browning’ on meats and savory items. But there is a fine line between browning and burnt. There were lots of burnt, oily pieces in my hash. I ate it. Sure, I was hungry. It wasn’t inedible. Kind of like how you date when you are in your twenties. You go on a date, you really aren’t that into him. But he’s tolerable. He pays for dinner, the movie was good. So you bang him at the end of the night. It’s not like you’re gonna see him again. Hopefully. Yea. That’s kind of why I still ate my food.

I’d like to give this place 5 stars, but I feel five star places should blow you away. And while this place was awesome, I can’t give it the 5. So my wife was going away for a week, so we figured we’d do family breakfast beforehand. Now, we live on the other side of the city, and although my wife wanted to go to Sisters, her favorite place, I wanted to change it up and not spend 40 bucks on breakfast. So we packed the kids and went. The kids got French toast(my daughter got sticks). It looked decent enough and they ate it all up. The sticks looked like just cut French toast, like they cut it after they cooked it as opposed to the classic style sticks. They also split an order of sausage. I got the big 2… 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, homefries and toast. I can’t remember how much it was in terms of price but it was fair. Home fries were seasoned well, but maybe a tad overcooked. The pancakes were arguably the best pancakes I’ve ever had out. Light and fluffy and big. And delicious. My wife got the Lebanese breakfast(which I would have gotten if she didn’t), which was kibbee mixed with scrambled eggs and peppers and onions. She also got the pita and feta, which was great. The Lebanese breakfast was delicious. Its so important for places like this to have a few unique menu items. Service was great. The lady was friendly and helpful. I would like to go back at some point… We did spend $ 40 by the way

We’ve been to Shaker’s multiple times only for breakfast so far. The welcoming bright ambience is perfect to start your day and the staff is very friendly. Prices are great for the quality and amount of food that is served to you. I particularly like their potato fries that come as a side in some of the omlettes. The only drawback is that they only accept cash, although they do have an ATM in the restaurant which charges some $ 3 for a withdrawal. But this is definitely the first place we think of for breakfast or brunch!

For the reviewers complaining about the atmosphere: IT’S A DINER!!! Get over yourself. The food is good, the portions are big, and the Lebanese breakfast is legit. My only complaint is that the coffee could have been stronger, but I have that complaint at most places.
