I found this spot while searching for smoothies. The staff was so friendly and pleasant while patiently helping me find something I like. I was thrilled when she suggested one with custom changes to suit my taste. The Kalefornia Dream minus banana plus blue and strawberries was delicious! I’ll definitely go back to try the menu and enjoy the cool ambience and free WiFi.

I come here primarily for the smoothies, though the menu seems to be different and has piqued my interest. The smoothies are usually pretty good. There was some question for a time as to whether or not they were making vegan smoothies properly for my vegan boyfriend. After a short hiatus, we’ve decided to give them another shot and we were pleased with what we received and plan to come back to try their menu.

The food is good, the service is terrible. I’ve been here many times and most of the time they mess up the order. Missing items, incomplete meals, etc. There is also a lot of staff turnover so usually new people and they don’t know what they’re doing. I’ve tried salads, sandwiches, smoothies all good but like I said, check your order if you get take out because they probably messed something up.

No complaints here. Friendly staff, great coffee and food, little wait time and a nice atmosphere. Great for sitting down and relaxing for a while or getting a quick bite to go. We had the honey goat cheese egg sandwich w/avacado on ciabatta, delicious. 5 stars.

Never going back. The inside was extremely dirty and the food was overrated. I got the oriental chicken salad and was not impressed at all. Unfriendly staff and I felt like I needed to bathe as soon as I left. My friends are I were in a rush to get out the minute we sat down. Don’t let photos of the food mislead you — they are VERY deceiving. I am an extremely unsatisfied customer!!!

I like this place. Great food, fair prices, good wifi. The people are super nice and not up in your grill with attitude. The only reason that I didn’t give it 5 stars is they are little slow on the espresso machine. I wasn’t in a hurry, but others were a bit more and seemed frustrated.

This place is great! offers a variety of healthy options that are simply delicious! The prices are affordable considering the fact a lot of their products are local and organic. I love their smoothies and you can never go wrong with their Southwestern salad! They never take too long to maker you food and their ample seating is another plus. So go hungry and tired!

2 stars for ambience. The reason why my gf and I came here was because of the original NU Café in Gardner which has amazing food and service. This place. Not so much. Food takes forever and we can count on them messing up our order. Why come back? We thought it was an isolated incident or maybe they would change. This time around they mentioned they are out of certain items what the F*!? My suggestion go to Birch Tree or the original NU café in Gardner.

I gave this place a slim chance… My sister works on May St and comes to NU Café at least twice a week, although I’m not sure how long that will keep happening. She tells me they mess up her order INSOMEWAY, EVERYTIME literally every time. Where she gets the right shake but someone else’s food, requests a special order and they flub it up, or they’ve lost her order all together. One time, unbeknownst to my sister, they sold her someone else’s lunch and literally asked her to bring it back because, «THEGIRLTHATORDEREDTHATISHERENOW.» Gross, they were going to resell food like that. Disgraceful. And there’s more!!! Never a shortage of airheads behind the counter. So I went with a girlfriend for breakfast recently and… Ewwwwwwww there a HUGE patch of mold on the bagel holding my tasty sandwich together. I will admit, it was a damn good combination with a friend egg, basil, spinach, cheese, and tomato(the Fresca). I’m hanging off your fence NU café. A: please use your most competent employees to work the register. B: look over the«fresh ingredients» you’re using prior to serving.

I love the healthy options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Gluten freebies will like this place; plenty of options they offer can be made into bowls(the breakfast bowls are great) with salad and/or quinoa. Freshly made juices are tasty and they often have organic/local produce to showcase for their kitchen(usually carrots, beets, and greens in the summer). They have a juice card(get ten punches get a juice free) and if you check into Unilocal on your phone you can get 10% off your drink order. Also, having a WOO card gets you $ 1 off an order of $ 10 or more. Service is friendly enough but they often seem understaffed. I guess it’s great that they are always busy when I walk in, though, because it’s nice to see a local small business be successful. Chai and coffee have never received a complaint from me or my incredibly picky husband(who drinks coffee even though he hates it, yeah it doesn’t make sense to me either, but that means if he actually LIKES a coffee drink/latte it MUST be good). I love chai in ways most people can’t comprehend, and theirs is mediocre. Which, coming from me, means it’s probably good to the general populace. Oh yeah, some homemade baked goods, sometimes gluten free. Nom nom! Take your butt to NU Café, and look for Paint Nites that they usually hold on Monday evenings.

Good at what it is and good parking as well. I’m always looking for a coffee place that doesn’t close at 7 pm and this place did not disappoint.

Good parking and an easy drive for an out of town person like myself. This place is much larger inside than I anticipated from Unilocal photos. It is lively. Chess, conversations, violin playing are all happening. There is a big skylight. I have sat down in a big leather chair. Everyone looks smart and stylish. It’s great here. Obviously it is a well loved local spot.

Met up with a friend for coffee two weeks ago, it has a cool, hipster ambience. The coffee and crowd were both pleasant, will keep Nu café in mind for my next coffee meet up!

Great place very nice space. And there food and drinks are very good but kind of expensive on prices. Great atmosphere, and live music sometimes.

Great surprise. Like some northern Cali. Places I’ve enjoyed. Nice varied menu, felt like I could walk over to UC Berkeley. The coffee was good, I’ll be back with the lap top to tryout the wifi. Breakfast sandwich good, some vegan options for lunch, we shall try!

Been 2 years since I first started going to NU café. The place was great to start with and it keeps getting better! Foods are always super fresh and staffs are always friendly. WiFi is complimentary and the temperature inside is always perfect. My only complain for the place is that the ordering process can be slow sometimes. Foods and drinks always come out well made and fast after order gets in though. Leaving the city for good and enjoyed my time at NU café, highly recommend it to everyone who wants fresh food and coffee! P. S. Their smoothies are delicious too!

NU Café came through for us in a pinch because we needed a place that served gluten-free breakfast options. While not in need of gluten-free food myself, I enjoyed my daily special bacon sandwich on ciabatta with tomato, pear and cheese. Problems with the meal were an overly liberal application of fig jam, insipid, seemingly store-bought tortilla chips, and mushy pico de gallo. Their dark roast café au lait was pretty good and there was plenty of seating both outdoors and indoors. The cucumber-infused water at the coffee pickup counter was a nice touch.

Really the NU Café is a perfect place! Here you goes find good coffee and tea, juice ans smoothies and sure, delicious foods(the muffins are perfects). If you beed a plate to study this is a good place for you! Fast internet but sometimes may have a little noise because people talk a lot and the sound(music) sometimes is loud.
