They are Scandinavian bakery, offering all sorts of Swedish treats. They have pretty much everything you can think of, from cookies, Petit Fours, cakes, pastries, and tortas. I am sure everyone can find at least one thing they like. I was so surprised on how many different kinds of desserts they offer! And they all looked so pretty and delicious… The only issue was that I didn’t know what was what — there was no sign on any of them, so I couldn’t tell what they are, or what flavor they are. As I started ask question to one of the female staff, she acted very annoyed. I wanted to know what the Petit Four flavors are, so I simply pointed to them asked what they are. She responded«Petit Fours»… So, I asked«what are the flavors?» She answered«Chocolate and Carrot cake. «No smile or no detailed information… I asked how much they are and at this point, she was REALLY annoyed. If you don’t want customers asking questions, then they should put up signs indicating the name, flavor, and price of their items. In my opinion, it is their choice to provide information in advice, or assist customers on the spot. I tried their cream puff, both kinds of Petite Fours, Marzipan cake(?), danishes, and Princess Torta. Danishes and Princess Torta was pretty nice, but the rest was not that great. And, with the really bad service, I was disappointed with my experience. Read my full review of this café and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

Amazing Swedish vetebröd(cardamon bread)! My mom has fond childhood memories of eating her grandmother’s vetebröd for breakfast, and this is just like she remembers. Good iced coffee, friendly service, and I even got a Viking cookie!

The staff was nice. That’s why I’ve given Crown Bakery 2 stars. The tuna salad is weird to say the least. It had lettuce, a scoop of tuna salad, red onions, and then red and green peppers. It does typically come with a piece of cake, however I have Celiacs, and have been gluten free for years. I asked if I could pay an up-charge to have the rice pudding instead, and was told in no uncertain terms, no. To me that just says that the included cake basically has no value and we do this instead of tossing it. All-in-all, I felt like the $ 12.01 I spent for tuna salad, a hood chocolate milk, and a rice pudding was a bit much. I will not be returning.

Crown Bakery has made every cake commemorating a major family event for decades: birthday, names day(it’s a Swedish thing), weddings. The Princess Torte is the cake to end all cakes. Non Swedes take notice. Also marzipan is the most delicious thing on earth and the Crown Bakery is the master of delivering it in amazing ways. Order the triangles! Also the cinnamon rolls are fantastic.

Couldn’t be happier. if your looking for a fantastic bakery with a different offering i recommend this highly

Went there for my 4 yr Olds birthday. Owner told us she’d be right back to take our order after she washed her hands. 20 minutes later she was walking around on her phone. We left after not getting served along with another family.

Their a good bakery but i only went there for the macroons and they changed the baker who dmake them and they re not good. The filling were overly sweet and they had whipped crème in them which should not be in a macroon but the pistacio muffins are great and the slmond sticks!

I’m giving Crown five full stars based solely on a religious, out of body experience I had with their cream puff. Simply the best cream puff in history. That one baked good alone is worth a visit!

Best raspberry pastry I’ve ever had — the apple squares were delish. I loved their box of mixed cookies! There was so much there that looked spot on and so mouth watering! They’ve got dessert, food, coffee — a little café area for people to eat. Love this place!

My family has been going to this bakery for many, many years. They used to be an excellent bakery but in the past years declined tremendously. Their customer service is terrible and fairly arro00gant. I personally stopped doing business with them over a year ago. Recently my elderly parents special order pastries and when they picked up, the order was incorrect. The counter woman got angry and returned my mothers money and arrogantly told them they would never take an order from them again. Is this any way to treat a decades old loyal customer?

My first time to Crown. I intended to only purchase a birthday cake but also picked up a sandwich. I would give the cake 5 stars– but I didn’t care too much for the sandwich. It was labeled chicken but was actually deli turkey. But, the complimentary scone included in the bag was to die for !! The cake was EXCELLENT ! Vanilla with a hint of lemon, moist and delicious. Frosting was excellent. I would absolutely pick up a cake again at Crown.

I was torn when writing this review for Crown Bakery. If I could give 3 ½ stars I would. It is a local historic bakery that makes some very tasty deserts. But some of them have been hit or miss for me. First I would like to say that there is one cookie there that is my second favorite cookie in the world. As far as I know there isn’t a specific name for it. Its a round almond cookie with chocolate ganache piped on top and dipped in dark chocolate so it hardens into a dome around the ganache. STELLAR. Truly delicious. Second, I am a lover of macarons. And what I mean by «lover» is … I am obsessed with macarons. I was so excited to see that a bakery near me had them. However, these macarons were truly disappointing. Too sugary and lacking in any discernible flavor. They looked pretty though, they get points for that. I just don’t understand how they can execute such a perfect almond cookies and not make delicious macarons. Other than that, the danish I’ve tried and other assorted deserts were good. I’ve never tried the cakes or cake rolls or the various breads they have there. I would love to find another thing that I love as much as that almond cookie, so I will continue to go to Crown Bakery and would recommend trying it for yourself.

There really isn’t a Swedish bakery in the Boston area(unless you count Ikea), so this is the closest spot if you want a fairly extensive selection of authentic Swedish baked goods. If you’re a bakery addict and/or really enjoy Swedish baked goods, this might be worth the drive. The interior and exterior of the bakery seem aged(like 60’s or 70’s) but it’s clean inside. Service is decent, with the older ladies working there being really nice and patient. There are so many different sorts of baked goods here(ranging from Scandinavian to Greek) that it can be a bit overwhelming, even though it’s a small place. I usually get an almond ring pastry, which is a little pricey at $ 6+ but so worth it. There are a lot of raisins and almond filling inside. Plus the ring is moist and great with tea/coffee for breakfast or afternoon tea. I’ve gotten the mazariners(almond-filled pastry) and it’s full of almond flavor, but really sweet. I’ve given their Swedish rye breads to people and they’ve liked it. I came here once on a Wednesday and the almond rings were BOGO, so that’s definitely a good deal.

It’s quite rare for me to go into bakeries since I’m not into pastries and other type of sweets. Besides having a doctor’s appointment in the next building over, I was lured in by the huge signage that said«The Best Bakery in Worcester». So I wanted to see for myself if that statement holds true. As I walked in, the interior was a bit smaller than what it appeared from the outside but don’t let that fool you. The bakery had a ton of selection of pastries, sandwiches, drinks, etc. The young lady who was working the floor was nice, patient and quite knowledgeable of all the pastry items that was displayed before me. For my 10AM breakfast, I ended up walking out with an apple & cheese danish and bottle of juice. My apple and cheese danish looked and tasted 10 times better than what you would get from an Entenmann’s box. Sorry Entenmann’s! So does the signage outside stating«The Best Bakery in Worcester» holds true? I say yes indeed!

The cakes are okay, but only slightly better than store bought. I have tried a variety of things but the only thing I buy now is their cheese danish. I tried the recently introduced French Macaroons that were highlighted as a special addition… and I thought they were absolutely terrible. They tasted as though they were infused with French perfume. On the plus side, the staff is consistent and friendly and seem to enjoy being there.
