Food is good and ambiance doesn’t have the feeling of «back home» but place is clean and very appealing. Service was okay, since waiter was rushing us to get our order and we just sat for like 3 mins. Will definitely visit again.

Admittedly, I know little about Filipino food except for lumpia. Your girl here can eat her weight in lumpia! A Filipino co-worker and her husband are masters at making it, so I’ve been eating it at their summer parties for the better part of seven years now. However, beyond that, my knowledge is nil. Well, perhaps was nil is a better sentence to use. At least I can now claim to have experienced Sisig! My friend and I stopped here for dinner prior to seeing Beyonce kick some ass at Citi Field. The food I had here definitely put my stomach in formation, that’s for sure. The very sleek and cute interior was pleasant, save for the unavoidable occasional rumble of the 7 train above. The menu was a little intimidating for someone like me unfamiliar with the cuisine as a whole, but I learned quickly that there’s a lot of pork and fish; we opted for the pork, and lots of it! We had chicharon for an appetizer, and we had Sisig for a main dish, along with BBQ pork on skewers. It was all delicious, but the Sisig was something special! The pork belly was tender yet had plenty of crunchy bits, and the raw egg cracked on top of it cooked though nicely while the plate below still sizzled. Also, the Pandan Tres Leches Cake is NEXTLEVEL. I had never heard of pandan before I had this cake, and it’s just as good as any Tres Leches Cake you could get anywhere else… just shockingly green! I think my friend took me here for dinner just to get the cake, because when she ordered dessert, it was very gleeful; when it arrived on the table, she could not container her excitement. Ha! If you’re essentially a virgin to Filipino cuisine, such as myself, this is definitely a great spot to get your feet wet. And if you are someone that has a love for this cuisine already, such as my friend, I think you’ll be wonderfully pleased as well!

BESTFILIPINOFOOD I HAVEEVERHAD! This is my family’s first time in NY and we decided to visit little Manila. The food here is amazing and the staff is so friendly! We ordered a rather big meal and everything was so fresh and tasty. My personal favorite was the sig-sig, hands down the BEST I have ever had. The pork was crunchy and it was perfectly cooked. The portion was also huge because we all ate and had some to take home. The pork ribs were also really good– not too saucy and had a really nice crunch. The fried fish was also amazing– batter was light but very crunchy. When our meal was done, the waitress was nice enough to sit with us and give us some advice on what desert to get so we decided on the halo halo! It was amazing!!! It was definitely ALL fresh and they didn’t spare on any of the things. I would recommend this place a million times over and I cannot wait to visit again!

Their food is good although their inasal doesnt taste like how it should be. We always get kwek kwek and isaw to start and an order or two or taho depending on the mood. It’s a nice place if you compare it to other Pinoy restaurants. Some nights, i think on weekends, they have bands. It’s a tiny place and when there are bands, it easily gets loud. So be prepared just in case.

Amazing place to hang out with friends and/or a date with my wife on a Saturday night. Great evening staffs! Attentive, alert and responsive to your needs! Good choice of red wines with a combination of Sisig na Bangus and Sisig na Lechon! I can’t have it any other way. And a very entertaining one man band or two, House of Inasal for me is Superb! Keep up the great work! Commenting by a Licensed Bartender of New York City and with a NY Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Certificate! Kudos!

Giving 5 stars for their TAHO(the only thing I’ve tried here so far) but it’s so good, I will definitely go back for it and try some dishes and maybe the chicharon bulaklak :)

Am I allowed to state indignantly that I got here independent of Ligaya Mishan? That I «discovered» this spot by(gasp) walking around my own neighborhood?! House of Inasal is one of my favorites in Woodside’s Filipino enclave. The menu is filled with classics, but approachable for those less familiar with Filipino food. The space is clean and casual — even faintly hipster-trendy. Everything veers further from homestyle than some other Woodside establishments. They have an a-ok selection of craft(ier) bottled beers, and a changing specials list with intriguing things like panko-fried tripe and squid ink fried rice(not just arroz negro, I assume). — On a good day, their kare kare is the best: tender oxtail, rich without being too peanut buttery.(On a bad day, it’s bland.) No wonder that they’ve upped its price a couple dollars since opening, while everything else has stayed the same. — The longsilog is simple but satisfying enough for me to now crave it in lieu of diner hash and eggs. — Kwek kwek is tasty quail eggs battered and fried, orange for no other reason than to be orange. — Their grilled meats aren’t as good as Ihawan’s, but it’s still clear that pinoys know their way around a grill. — The ongoing lunch special is $ 6 for chicken inasal with garlic rice, soup or salad. The entire quarter of chicken is decent, though I suspect it doesn’t hit the potential of great inasal. — No extra charge for their yummy garlic rice, which is never greasy. Waiting for your food when dining in can sometimes push a half hour, with no relation to how small/simple it is to prepare or how empty the restaurant is. But when I ordered takeout once, our four meals were ready for pickup in under 15 mins. What?

ambiance: typical filipino restaurant. I don’t know how to describe it but theres always banana ketchup, fish sauce and a huge bottle of soy sauce/vinegar sauce on every sticky table. clean(aside from the sticky table) and well lit(for all u foodies out there) food: I got the longsilog and my bf got the tapsilog which was both unexpectedly good. we both enjoyed our breakfast-all-day lunch and to top it all we also got Kwek Kwek(deep fried quail eggs — a must have famous street food in the Philippines) as an appetizer. It was like reliving my childhood plus cleaner and served with a really good homemade vinegar sauce. drink: definitely get the Sago and Gulaman, it was very sweet, but it complimented our garlicky meal price: affordable and definitely will come back for more

House of inasal is on the same street with a handful of other restaurants. Mostly good food at cheap prices, here was how our visit went. Place is small, but decently decorated. We came on a Saturday night, and they had live music. Feels like I’m in a restobar in the Philippines. Service was prompt, our requests was well accommodated. Calamari $ 9 Lightly battered and fried, the tender squid rings were accompanied with some type of sweet and sour sauce. Pretty good. Chicken inasal $ 6 A quarter chicken plus a drumstick. Meat was tender, and flavorful. Comes with rice and pickled vegetables. Can’t believe it’s only $ 6! A must-try for anyone. Liempo $ 8(?) Brother said this was really good and worth it. Grilled tuna belly $ 13(?) DONOTGETTHIS. It was drier than the sahara dessert. It didn’t look appetizing as they set it down, and our suspicions were verified as soon as the fork was sunk into it. Crispy pata $ 13 Brother said it was good, and house of inasal may be a go-to because of the price. Not much meat though, but for $ 13, not bad at all. Pandan tres leches cake $ 6 GETTHIS! Server arrived with a little dish filled with a gigantic slice of cake, like an island on a pool of milk. With some crunchies on top, this goodness is good for 3 people.

Of all the Filipino restaurants in Woodside, my favorite is House of Inasal. It is the nicest, has the best service, and has the most special signature dish: inasal chicken! Just like the chicken I had in Bacolod. House of Inasal serves breakfast all day. This is a sure hit with many as Filipino breakfast is such a guilty pleasure. It’s fatty, salty, and is topped with a gooey egg. Many like the tapa and longanisa dishes. Garlic rice is always bomb. It’s a nice option to have and House of Inasal is very accommodating. Basically you can tailor your meal however you like it. Often times, they give you extra rice for free or a free serving of taho. We usually do family style and will always start with an appetizer of lumpia shanghai or lumpia sariwa(fresh lumpia). One time, our lumpia shanghai was not all the way cooked through. It was still a little pink and we had no problem getting it replaced. I love their lumpia sariwa as it has a very strong garlic flavor. Other dishes we often get are the nilaga and sinigang soups, miki bihon pancit, chicken leg inasal(has a lemongrass bbq flavor), sizzling sisig, and lechon kawali. When we have enough space we get taho and sago or pan de sal ice cream sandwiches for dessert. And if you’re ever want to taste the best mango shake, try theirs. It has that Filipino mango flavor. So good!

Solid Filipino spot with great service and good food. And in true Filipino fashion, we ordered the kwek-kwek(fried quail egg), kare kare(oxtail in peanut sauce), sisig na bangus(chopped milkfish on an iron skillet), chicken inasal, a free cheese stick, fish balls, lumpia shanghai, lechon kawali(chunks of lechon), and of course, garlic fried rice. All in all, the food was good, save for the cheese stick and the kare kare. The cheese stick was alright… if you like cheese pimiento. It was also free from the Unilocal check-in, so no biggie. The kare-kare, we all agreed could use more peanut butter but it was alright! Very solid items were the chicken inasal and the sisig na bangus! In the end, we ordered the ice cream in pan de sal. I don’t see this too often, so we ordered it. Although it was pretty messy, we ate it with gusto and were pretty satisfied with it. If I’m ever feeling homesick, I’d be open to explore more things, but for now this is a pretty solid go-to.

I’ve only had Filipino food a few times and was never truly impressed until I dined here. I was welcomed by a former colleague of mine who is a big force behind the cuisine here and really made this restaurant a cozy, inviting place. Simply put, this is Asian Soul Food at it’s finest. Chicharon Bulaklak(fried pork ruffle fat) was mind blowing rich… think bone marrow. It was so delicious that I was afraid there wouldn’t be any room left for the other dishes if I kept eating, I’m glad I was wrong. KwekKwek(quail eggs dipped in batter & deep fried). First the eggs were hard boiled, dipped in a delicious golden batter, and presented with skewers once could simply pierce and pop in their mouth. Grilled Isaw(pork intestines w/atchara) and it was deliciously smooth… first boiled, then marinated, and skewered with a side of lemon and tart relish that really helped cut through the fat. Crispy Pata(deep fried pork knuckle). The layers of moist pork with a crispy outer layer were better than I imagined. Pandan Tres Leches Cake(Pandan cake soaked in 3 milks w/whipped cream, fresh young coconut, and dulce de leche). It was unlike your typical Mexican Tres Leches on so many levels. The restaurant was recently featured on First Look with Audrina Patridge so the word is out on how good this place is already!

All day Filipino breakfast?! Yes! Chicken Inasal?! Yes! Pandesal ice cream sandwiches?! Yes! All these things made me very happy & full today. I’m kicking myself for not trying out this spot sooner. The vibe/atmosphere is nicer than most of the other Filipino restaurants in the area. I can’t wait to return with more people so I can order all of the yummy things. I need every excuse to be able to order several of those ice cream sandwiches

Let’s put it out there straight — you’re here for two reasons. Chicken Inasal(basically like Filipino BBQ) and beer. if you stick to those, you will have yourself a great, cheap, fun meal. The chicken is tender, smoky, sweet, and uniquely spiced. The beer is plentiful, and should be ordered in great quantities whilst waving chicken bones around between your knuckles like an outer borough Wolverine. OK — there is one other reason to hit this place up, and it’s the rice. More to the point, the unlimited rice, which you can get by ordering a special. The yellow rice and the garlic rice in particular are extra fragrant, and whatever special you got(we got pork loin, overcooked, with a sunny side up egg, overcooked) is merely window dressing for MOARRICE. On the appetizer side, we went with the fish balls over the kwek-kwek(deep fried quail eggs), and it was probably a mistake. Perfectly serviceable, but for fish, and fried fish, it was curiously neutral in flavor. Like a fishy ball of air. Pancit Malabon was the noodle order, and while it was not really specified as a soup dish, man, was it soupy. The very thick broth-type«sauce» was actually quite interesting in flavor, but it hit an eerie spot between soup, gel, and sauce in its viscosity that you kind of had to hunt for a noodle. Should you go here? Yes. Should you go here specifically for chicken and beer? Yes. I am told their all day breakfast is very good, but if I’m in the area, unlimited rice, amazing chicken, and Asgardian quantities of beer is what I’m hunting for.

I’d never had chicken inasal before coming here, but I’m pretty sure I’ve been ruined for other barbecued chicken forever. I don’t even like barbecued chicken. It’s often too dry, overcooked, and full of regret. This is life-changing chicken inasal. It’s flavorful, moist, and the inasal sauce will have you back for more. If the only thing you have House of Inasal is the chicken inasal, you’ll still enjoy yourself. But you should definitely try the other stuff too. Of note: pork barbecue is amazing, and my favorite. Both barbecue dishes come with atchara, the papaya pickles, which are amazing, but avoid the curvy green vegetable within! It’s bitter melon, and it’s totally my nemesis from childhood. Don’t put that in your mouth! The sizzling sisig, in both bangus and pork ear form, are also worthwhile. For vegetables, we always get the coconut milk long beans and pumpkin(ginataang sitaw at kalabasa). All dishes come with white or yellow rice. Don’t be a fool. Get the yellow rice. It’s way more interesting, and goes well with barbecue. They also have an excellent beer list in cans and bottles, but it’s full of summery beers right now(probably because there aren’t that many people that drink craft beer at Filipino restaurants). Get some anyway, don’t pretend like we’re not having an unseasonably warm winter!

I was really looking forward to dining at House of Inasal since I love Filipino BBQ and have tried many Filipino restaurants in Woodside. Sadly, I was disappointed and thought the food was just ok. Although the food was fresh and inviting, I found most dishes lacking in flavor. The pork bbq on a stick was probably the most flavorful item we ordered. In my opinion, the best Filipino BBQ in Woodside, remains Ihawan Woodside on 70th St(even though their service is lacking). Also, I asked that our dishes be served 2 – 3 at a time, not all at once, but they still served all our entrees at once… it was a little overwhelming and the food gets cold fast. On a positive note, the staff were all extremely nice and friendly, and they happily welcomed my reservation for 12 people on a Friday night. Also, they have karaōke on Fri & Sat, but we didn’t stay late enough for the Karaōke. Here are the items 4 people shared: ~Kwek-kwek(Quail eggs dipped in batter & deep-fried) ~Pork BBQ on stick ~Boneless Bangus(Half milkfish served w/tomatoes & onions) ~Pinakbet(squash, string beans, bitter melon, eggplant, okra & shrimp sautéed in shrimp paste) ~Adobo Mix(pork & chicken in soy sauce & vinegar w/fried onions) ~Lechon Kawali(Deep-fried pork belly served w/liver sauce)

Having frequented a majority of the Filipino restaurants in Woodside for many years, I was surprised at how I could have missed House of Inasal all of this time because it’s probably now my new favorite! We came here on a Saturday evening at around 6:30pm and it wasn’t crowded at all. The restaurant was a decent size with plenty of tables and the service was very swift and friendly from the moment we stepped in. What I especially loved about this restaurant was that they served All Day Breakfast! It’s a major plus for me whenever I visit a Filipino restaurant because of the typical low cost of the breakfast dishes and there’s nothing like the combination of garlic fried rice, a fried egg and cured meats. Soooo as expected … we ordered 2 breakfast dishes, the Longsilog and Tapsilog and had the Chicharon Bulaklak as an appetizer. The Chicharon Bulaklak tasted a bit better here than at other restaurants I’ve had it at. The ruffled fat was a bit chewier, easier to digest and seemed like it came right out of the frier. The breakfast dishes were possibly the best I’ve ever had compared to other restaurants! The cured beef in the Tapsilog was much tastier and not as dry as in other restaurants. The sausage in the Longsilog was very flavorful too. The eggs and garlic fried rice were cooked perfectly for both dishes and the small pico de gallo salad added more flavor than it normally had for us in breakfast dishes. Overall, I had no complaints. I liked that it was fairly quiet and wasn’t too crowded either. It definitely makes for a good walk-in spot.

Delicious! We all have that group of friends that is willing to experiment with different foods. When two of our friends suggested Filipino food, we were sold. I had never had Filipino food before and was unsure what to expect. Let’s just say, I was blown away by the deliciousness of the food. First off, beer is only around $ 5(a bit more for the really good stuff such as Pumpking). If you build your own six pack, you save a couple of bucks per beer. For our food, we decided to split a bunch of apps and entrees so those of us who had never experienced Filipino food before could get a taste and see what we liked and disliked. We allowed our experienced friends to do the ordering. The pig parts(this includes ear and lord knows what else) were delicious with beer! We ended up getting two orders… Oops. The BBQ chicken is VERY good but the pork dishes were a bit more flavorful and went better with beer. I insisted we get an order of chicken hearts which also comes on skewers with liver and gizzards. The hearts were delicious(I’m a big fan of the Brazilian preparation of these and they were very similar). Everything was good from start to finish, included the purple yam ice cream sandwich(yes, really). There were 7 of us, we each had a beer, and a crap load of food…$ 175. This place is CHEAP and absolutely DELICIOUS! Service can be a bit hit or miss but the food makes up for it.

TL;DR — 3 stars for the food… 5 stars for the ice cream! I’ve lived in Jackson Heights way too long to have not explored the Filipino area! So on a Sunday afternoon we ventured(a few blocks away) to House of Inasal. After checking in on Unilocal,we got a free cheesestick! The cheesestick was basically a freshly fried spring roll that was filled with molten cheese. I have no idea if this is authentic, and it is definitely not healthy, but it was delicious. As an appetizer, we ordered the Lumpia Sariwa. Again, I’m no expert when it comes to Filipino cuisine… so to me, this just seemed like an omelette that was stuffed with veggies and topped with a sweet and sour sauce. Not bad, but I don’t think I would order it again. For entrees, we got the Kare-Kare and the Chicken Leg Inasal. The oxtail and tripe in the Kare-Kare were very tender, and the peanut sauce was very peanutty without being over-powering. Yum! The chicken in the Chicken Leg Inasal was unfortunately a bit dry, but the sauce and yellow rice it came with were great. OKAY now on to the best part! The STAR of the meal was our dessert– PANDIICECREAM! Purple ube ice cream was served between warm pan del sal and topped with coconut and crispy rice. YES! The order came with 2 sandwiches, but the next time I visit… I’m going to skip the food and keep both sandwiches FORMYSELF!

My boyfriend lives pretty close, so we come here pretty frequently. There is never a wait, and service is always great. The waiters always have good and honest suggestions, and are so polite! Their breakfast comes with either free coffee or taho, so take advantage of that! Their serving size is great for their price. Of course, their inasal is delicious. How could it not be? The chicken is moist and it comes with either white or yellow rice. I opted for the yellow rice, and I was not disappointed. Same with their longsilog! This tropical teas are alright, very fruity. I definitely do like their cereal milk milkshake — reminded me of Momofulu! However, I would stay away from the scramble. It tastes almost like a bubblegum slush to me. The taste is hard to describe(even our server had a hard time!). My boyfriend enjoyed it, though! Maybe it’s just me. I am in the process of trying all their desserts! I love love love their buko pandan tres leches cake. It’s super rich and flavorful. So good. Their flan may seem small, but it is the perfect size considering the size of the entrée. Their halo halo comes with an ube paste as well as ube ice cream and flan. I wish it didn’t come in a bubble tea container, but still good!
