These women are reliable for eyebrow services(tinting and threading) where they fully deserve their 5 stars– I would stay away from waxing though! Health code standards require the beauty esthetician to avoid double dipping the same stick and these guys are guilty as charged on that account, just take a look at the wax tub that looks old and gross. I don’t mean to turn this review sour but this is the kind of place you should really stick to one item off the menu!

I just moved to Sunnyside from Manhattan and I tried many salons in the area to find the perfect place for waxing and threading. Have to say, this is the best one by far! The owners have been in the area for 10 years and know their customers really well. They are very nice and sweet and take time to do the service. Also, the place is small but very clean. Really appreciate the service. Doesnt hurt that it is by far the cheapest as well. 100% recommended.

Got waxed. Nice people, thorough and attentive to direction of hair growth, great prices by comparison, no wait when I went in the afternoon. I did my research and will stick to this place.

Went here last weekend. Great threading. Nicely arched. Great prices. Place is a little small.

Just moved to Sunnyside and I was looking for a place for waxing. It was perfect for me: really cheap, efficient, quick and really nice people. Not for you if you like to be pampered in a fancy place and you are really delicate! :-)

This was the first stop on my mini-threading tour of Sunnyside. The sign proclaiming $ 4 eyebrow threading lured me in. I needed to get my eyebrows done before I met a friend in another part of Queens so I was a little dismayed when I realized one person was being helped and another person was waiting to be serviced. Both the waiting customer and the sole esthetician working encouraged me to wait since it would only be a little bit. Hmm, maybe a second employee during Saturday mornings might be smart. D n S was very small, with only two chairs, a padded bench to wait/sit on, and some rooms for other services. There were some current Time Outs and other mags to browse, and a TV was showing the news. The esthetician going to town on my eyebrows seemed pretty nice and friendly. She was instructing me to maintain by not plucking hairs near the brow but to focus on hairs further away. Is that why I ended up with a fair number of hairs away from the brow that I had to tweeze out later? The thread broke so many times that I lost count. Then she told me about the facials they offered as I was getting ready to leave. There were a lot of loose removed hairs on my face, and two red dots on my lids from vigorous threading. But the brow shape and thickness were pleasing, and the lady also used scissors to even out everything. But you can’t beat $ 4!

They now have another location, this one, one in forest hills, and one by Junction. One of the owners works at this store and the other I believe either at Junction or Forest Hills or visits both. In all honesty, I love when the owner does my eyebrows because she is the only one who has been doing them for all seven years. The other owner(who is not at this location) usually took longer and it was more painful. I made the mistake of visiting another place when they were closed and that was the worst experience of my life, it was painful and she even made me bleed and scar. However, since they now have three locations, I cannot attest for the skill of the new hires. I was once so desperate that I had one of the newer girls do my brows who has been working here for I would say 3 or more years and I asked her to just clean it up and she did a great job. However, she is the only one I would trust besides the owner. So if you do go in, ask to be seen by the owner and you will come out with great brows! Once again, I still haven’t tried any of their other services but I’ve seen them do facial waxing and the woman looked great afterwards.

I’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded for 10 yrs and this was the worst experience I’ve had. I would have forgiven the lack of a/c, the lack of greeting or any words exchanged during my visit, even the elbow digging into my breast bone and bosom smushed into the side of my face if my eyebrows looked good afterwards. Instead the woman(blue eyes) made my eyebrows look worst than they ever have. One is straight, while the other has a weird arch. She shortened one so that it does not even cover my eye. She over threaded both and when I pointed it out, she said she had just cleaned them up. Do not go here! Pay a little more in the city or go to Jackson Heights.

I have been a customer of D n S even before they got their own salon on 47th Avenue or Forest Hills. Both locations are great. I have never experienced a bad day. Yes, the waits can be long at the 47th Avenue salon, but that’s because they are good at what they do and are in demand for it! I have travelled from Jersey just to go to these ladies. I would not trust my brows to anyone else! Would definetely recommend both salons… BONUS new one on the way :)

This place is great. I have been going to them for at least 4 years now for eyebrow threading and waxing… they are amazing… eyebrow threading for just $ 4 and waxing services are cheap too…

I love this place… I haven’t had a facial here yet, but they start at $ 20! The ladies are always friendly… I won’t tell you who my favorite is… That would just make my wait longer…

I couldn’t decide between 4 or 3 stars so I gave it 4 anyway. I really liked these women when they were at their other location on 46thST inside that barber shop. And I still like them when they started their own business and moved to 47thAVE. They charge $ 4 for eyebrowing threading, honestly you can’t get any cheaper than that. Their prices for other things are cheap as well. But you have to be careful at the times you go because there can be a LONG line, I’ve experienced up to half an hour for a 10 – 15 session. And they do a decent job for your hard earned $ 4(+tip). But I’ve noticed that lately, they’ve been having less and less patience. So much so that the last time I went in, she charged me $ 7 and I gave her $ 10, expecting her to return $ 3(that I would’ve given back anyway) but she didn’t. They both looked away from me and said, «Have a nice day.» Baffled, I left and I’m debating now whether their prices are worth their«new» service.
