The Swiss Watchmaker

This kind, gentle man is a master of his craft. He works out of his shop in his home, and makes you feel instantly welcome and safe. My needs were simple today, but he treated me as though I was his most important customer.

My previous watch guru lives in Ohio and Ive sent many pocket watches and wrist watches to him for service. His wife became ill and required his full attention. While looking for a local repair facilitly I stumbled across Jean Claude. I was pleasantly surprised to find out he has worked at several major watch houses in Europe. I brought my Breitling Navitimer to Jean Claude and upon seeing his immaculate workshop and how well organized he is I felt very comfortable leaving my watch with such a highly qualified watch builder… He called me the next day with a quote, which is what he told me he would do, and I told him to proceed. My watch was bought new in 1999 and needed a service as it was running inconsistently. I picked up my watch exactly when he said it would be completed. He not only got my watch running new he buffed and polished it. His price is more than fair. Im certainly glad I found Jean Claude as his talent is usually found only in a watch factory setting. I brought my vinatge Rolex to him after it had dropped off the kitchen table and started running fast. He fixed the problem and I had him do a servicing on it, since it had been several years since it had been done. After I received the watch back, it looked absolutely brand new and ran with amazing accuracy. So accurate in fact, that it is still within a couple of seconds of my cell phone, and I’ve had the watch back for 2 months now!
I wouldn’t hesitate to bring all of my fine watches to be repaired by him, and I’m seriously considering bringing them in one by one to have them cleaned and serviced. I love watches, and so does the Swiss watchmaker. His work is impeccable.

Brought the 40 year old gold Omega I inherited from my father for a service. Jean Claude did an incredible job of somehow locating the necessary parts, modifying them where necessary and bringing the watch back to life. It works perfectly and is as accurate as my other Omegas. Cannot say enough about his patience, assistance and professionalism. Truly an excellent craftsman.

I’ve known him for years when I used to live in Illinois! He’s originally from Switzerland where they make all the high-​end Swiss watches and has 50 years experience as a watchmaker. They don’t have anymore watchmakers in his caliber these days! I’ve brought him many of my Omega, Zenith, and Tudor watches both simple and chronograph. I’ve found his work to be fastidious and careful, and he takes the time necessary to get the job done correctly with new parts either sourced or hand-​made as needed.
The Swiss Watchmaker really is a Swiss watchmaker who trained in Switzerland before moving the USA. If you’re looking for a qualified, experienced mechanical watch repair I highly recommend this gentleman.
